Xie Xiaofei successfully garnered Cai Tianlan's support. The next morning, Xie Tiancheng was taken away from the company for financial irregularities concerning embezzlement. Meanwhile, news of Tong Wei's impending departure for New York headquarters spread among her colleagues at CAEA. Tong Wei sought her boss, Mr. Zhou, who expressed concern about her ability to adapt to New York's uncertainties.
Tong Wei, however, was resolute, stating that she was willing to face any challenge with Xie Xiaofei, even "mountains of daggers and seas of fire." Mr. Zhou, accepting her determination, presumably approved her transfer. Xie Xiaofei hosted a celebratory dinner for all their friends, expressing his gratitude for their unwavering support throughout their difficult journey. Tong Wei then announced her own news: she would be joining Jonathan in New York as his assistant.
While everyone expressed concern about Tong Wei's new life, Xie Xiaofei assured them he would take good care of his wife. At the airport, colleagues gathered to bid farewell to Tong Wei and Xie Xiaofei. Jiang Ke and Qiqi embraced Tong Wei, visibly heartbroken. Xia Shanshan, too, shed tears, unwilling to part ways. Concerned about Tong Wei staying in a hotel, Xie Xiaofei took her to an apartment owned by the Xie Corporation. Though Tong Wei initially hesitated, wary of displeasing Xie Tianyou, Xie Xiaofei successfully persuaded and cheered her up. Their sweet cohabitation officially began. Xie Xiaofei affectionately held Tong Wei as they cooked in the kitchen, and they later raised their wine glasses to their life, love, and courageous spirit.
On the balcony, a slightly tipsy Tong Wei, leaning on Xie Xiaofei, asked if she could entrust her future to him, to which he promised to cherish her as the love of his life. The next morning, Xie Xiaofei insisted on taking Tong Wei to CAEA headquarters on her first day, witnessing the new beginning of her life. Tong Wei entered her dream workplace with a mix of excitement and trepidation.
She met her idol, Jonathan, who complimented her beauty and elegance. He then gave her her first task: to arrange for delivery from Guangfulou, a famous dim sum restaurant that never delivered. Tong Wei called Guangfulou, and the restaurant explained they didn't deliver because dim sum was a leisure activity, not fast food. Tong Wei cleverly explained this to Jonathan and gained his approval. She then booked a table at Guangfulou, and Jonathan invited her to go with him.
Meanwhile, Xie Tianyou returned to work at Xie Corporation and investigated Xie Tiancheng's past actions. He also sent someone to thoroughly investigate Tong Wei. The report showed Tong Wei was an excellent girl, but her family background made Xie Tianyou frown. After work, Xie Xiaofei returned home to find Tong Wei busy making wontons for him. As they ate and discussed their day, Xie Xiaofei, deeply moved by their domestic bliss, spontaneously proposed.
Tong Wei was touched and surprised by the informal proposal but, deeply in love, she accepted without hesitation. The next day, Tong Wei was informed at work that Jonathan had taken on an urgent project. In an hour, they were to meet with Mr. Liu from China's Xinlong Enterprise. With no time to prepare, Jonathan decided to bring Tong Wei along to show warmth towards the Chinese company.
At Mr. Liu's hotel, Tong Wei used the booking information from the front desk to realize Mr. Liu was bluffing and there were no other competitors involved. She explained her observations to Jonathan, advising him to agree to all terms during this initial negotiation to buy time before pressing for a lower price later. Jonathan was greatly impressed by Tong Wei's insight and wisdom.
