Liang Muze, recovering from an injury stitched by Xia Chu, was still under the effects of anesthesia. Playfully, he declared himself "Sailor Moon," which surprised Xia Chu, who then jokingly asked if she had taught him that. Liang Muze corrected her, claiming Sailor Moon was "a couple gift from her," referring to a "Sailor Moon bed sheet," causing Xia Chu to tell him to be quiet. Just then, Xiao Xiao announced that Xia Chu's father was waiting at the door.

Xia Chu quickly left, but not before asking Xiao Xiao to take Liang Muze's temperature, as he felt warm. As Xia Chu departed, Liang Muze called out "Xia Chu, I love you." Xiao Xiao then turned to Liang Muze to check his temperature. Xia Chu's father, Xia Guangyuan, arrived, expressing immense relief that she was safe after receiving a frightening call from her Troop.

He revealed he had even asked Xia Chu's Grandpa to contact the leader at her war zone, and rushed over as soon as he heard she was out of danger and the exercise was complete. Xia Guangyuan admitted he wouldn't dare tell Xia Chu's mother about the incident, assuring Xia Chu that her Grandpa would keep it from her. He then conveyed that while he couldn't make life decisions for her, she must think carefully about her path.

Xia Chu shared her concern, asking if he would be disappointed if she didn't become a "great doctor who makes history." Xia Guangyuan affectionately stated that his most important "masterpiece" was her, and his support would remain unchanged regardless of her career choices or success. With newfound confidence, Xia Chu declared her intention to join Liang Muze at his outpost.

Her father advised her to live life happily and to carefully choose a life partner, but reassured her that he and her mother would always be there for her if she ever made a mistake. Xia Chu, touched, thanked him and promised to be very happy. Later, Dong Zhigang visited Liang Muze, who was still recovering. Dong Zhigang shared critical intelligence: the captured foreigner had mentioned Tian Yong.

He then presented a police photo, revealing that the person in the photo was the true commander. Liang Muze immediately recognized him as Zhuo Ran, Xia Chu's first love, who had been missing since he was eighteen and only recently returned to the the country. Dong Zhigang confirmed that Zhuo Ran had been operating under an alias, Pei Yu, during his disappearance.

He had a military background, had fought in wars, and was now identified as the most valuable mercenary in the world. Dong Zhigang also noted that a representative from the foreign armed forces observation group was a former comrade of Zhuo Ran's. Liang Muze commented on Dong Zhigang's "luck," to which Dong Zhigang replied that Liang Muze was not the first to say so, revealing that Pei Yu was his "only failure" before Liang Muze.

Dong Zhigang concluded by informing Liang Muze that the higher-ups had ordered a joint military and police full search for Pei Yu, urging Liang Muze to focus on his recovery. Meanwhile, Pei Yu, injured and clearly suffering, called out to Mi Gu. Recognizing his voice, Mi Gu confirmed his identity as Zhuo Ran and, after ensuring she wasn't followed, went to him.

Pei Yu, bleeding from a bullet wound, asked Mi Gu to remove the bullet, but she was unable to due to the sight of blood. Enduring the pain, Pei Yu had to remove the bullet himself. Afterwards, Pei Yu was delirious and shivering, repeatedly crying out for his mother, questioning why she had only taken his brother and if she was abandoning him.

Witnessing his profound distress, Mi Gu embraced him tightly, reassuring him, "I won't go, I won't leave you here." Later, Xia Chu was urgently called to Liang Muze's side as his condition had worsened dramatically, showing a high fever of forty degrees Celsius, accompanied by "indirect muscle spasms" and "convulsions." The initial diagnosis pointed to a wound infection. After taking his blood sample, they made the immediate decision to transfer him to the hospital, as the current facilities were inadequate.

Dong Zhigang, present at the scene, entrusted Liang Muze's care to Xia Chu, and Xia Chu's father urged her to be careful. At the hospital, laboratory results confirmed the infection was caused by Acinetobacter Baumannii. Following "several consultations," doctors initiated an aggressive treatment with "high dosages of sulbactam combined with tigecycline," hoping to suppress the bacteria, though its efficacy would only be known after further observation and analysis.

Liang Muze's parents arrived, with his mother expressing deep regret over his military career, believing it led to his current plight. Liang Muze's father, however, maintained that his son's choices were his own responsibility. They were permitted to view Liang Muze from outside the ward due to his fragile state. Throughout this ordeal, Xia Chu was plagued by self-doubt, repeatedly questioning Xiao Xiao if she had thoroughly washed her hands before stitching Liang Muze’s wound.

Xiao Xiao attempted to reassure her, explaining that such hygiene was an instinctive action for surgeons and that the exact cause of the infection was still being investigated. While Xia Chu was still agonizing over her perceived responsibility, she and Xiao Xiao were summoned to a meeting in the hospital's meeting room. Director Chen led the discussion, revealing two recent post-operative infections, both caused by Acinetobacter Baumannii.

He gravely announced that the first patient, Liu Ran, had already passed away, and the second was Liang Muze, currently in the intensive care unit. Director Chen stressed the critical nature of a second such incident, emphasizing the need for serious consideration. He then directly asked Xia Chu for her assessment of Liang Muze's infection and whether she had overlooked anything during the initial treatment.

Xia Chu, though admitting to her self-doubt regarding the field conditions, firmly asserted that she had been extremely careful, and there were "no operational problems." When Xiao Xiao arrived, Director Chen asked for her evaluation as a witness. Xiao Xiao candidly stated that while Xia Chu was "very serious," she "wasn't calm," suggesting this wasn't a professional doctor's ideal demeanor. After the meeting, Xia Chu, angered by Xiao Xiao's remarks, confronted her.

Xiao Xiao explained that as a friend, she felt it necessary to be honest, believing Xia Chu's "personal feelings had taken over her professional ethics" when treating Liang Muze. Xia Chu, hurt, lashed back, accusing Xiao Xiao of prioritizing personal ambition. Feeling helpless, Xia Chu reached out to Zhang Yichi for guidance, describing Liang Muze's critical condition and her desperation to save him.

She also contacted Professor Ye Jun from Ke Hua University's Biology Lab Center, urgently detailing Liang Muze's deteriorating state, septic shock, coma, and hallucinations, which she recognized as signs of impending death. While Liang Muze's parents expressed their anguish, with his mother questioning the severity of a bacterial infection and demanding alternative solutions, a new treatment idea, bacteriophage therapy, was presented.

It was explained that bacteriophages, being bacteria's natural predators, could specifically target and destroy the Acinetobacter Baumannii without issues of antibiotic resistance. Xia Chu revealed that Professor Ye Jun's lab, which specialized in phage therapy and had Acinetobacter Baumannii on its research list, was willing to provide the necessary bacteriophages. However, hospital staff voiced significant reservations, noting that phage therapy was not mainstream and lacked official approval, potentially leading to legal risks.

Xia Chu countered by mentioning that Dong Zhigang had already submitted a request to higher authorities for special approval, and she confirmed that Ye Jun's lab had one successful case study. Liang Muze's mother, overwhelmed with fear, initially rejected the risky treatment, but Liang Muze's father encouraged trust in his son's own choice. At Liang Muze's bedside, Xia Chu affectionately called him "Braised Egg" and tried to alleviate his suffering by suggesting "memory cleared."

She recalled his past reassurance during her own distress, asking him to trust her now, promising he would be safe and that together they could overcome any difficulty. Knowing the next phase of treatment might bring more pain, she asked for a sign if he wished to proceed. Liang Muze responded by subtly squeezing her hand.

Xia Chu understood, confirming her father was already using his medical connections to lobby for the swift approval of the treatment, which was otherwise prepared and ready to begin. As Liang Muze's condition rapidly deteriorated, marked by critically low vitals and unconsciousness, a doctor mentioned preparing for CPR. Dong Zhigang called for an update, and Liang Muze's father informed him that he was personally going to urge the higher-ups for the delayed approval.

With a new batch of bacteriophages arriving, Director Hao still insisted on waiting for the official green light. However, Xia Chu, witnessing Liang Muze's continued decline and the onset of organ failure, declared, "We can't wait anymore. We must carry out the treatment now!"

Director Hao reiterated the lack of approval, but Liang Muze's parents intervened, confirming they had signed the consent form, would accept any outcome, and would not hold the hospital responsible, pleading for the treatment to begin immediately. Just as Director Hao started to explain the protocol, an urgent announcement came: "Liang Muze is having high fever again."

In a decisive act, Xia Chu seized the bacteriophages and, ignoring the frantic calls and attempts to stop her from Director Hao and others, locked herself in the room with Liang Muze. As they pounded on the door, Xia Chu, inside, firmly stated, "I will bear the consequences." Director Hao threatened her with suspension. Despite the dire circumstances, the experimental phage therapy proved successful, and Liang Muze's fever began to subside, bringing immense relief to those who had worried for him.
