Fu Fangshu arrived at Niu Meili's home, accusing her of exploiting his friend Gu Dapeng by selling him expensive wine. He claimed she was fooling Gu Dapeng, who couldn't distinguish good wine from bad. Niu Meili was deeply hurt by his words, revealing that each bottle represented a year of her life since she started working at 21, commemorating her birthdays. She had saved them, envisioning them being opened at her funeral to be drunk in her memory.

She explained that the numbers Fu Fangshu saw on the bottles weren't limited edition numbers but her age when she acquired them. She asserted that she'd rather sell them to people she cared about, even if they couldn't appreciate the wine, than to an expert. Fu Fangshu apologized for his insensitive remarks but still advised Niu Meili to clearly state her intentions to Gu Dapeng if she wasn't interested in him, to avoid causing further trouble.

Later, Gu Dapeng called Niu Meili to ask for another bottle of wine. She told him to come over, eager to vent her anger. When he arrived, Niu Meili abruptly handed him all the wine he had stored at her place, telling him to take it and not return unless it was for a serious matter, so people wouldn't think she was tricking him. Gu Dapeng tried to understand what he had done wrong.

Niu Meili explained that she was upset he had shared their private transaction with Fu Fangshu, making it seem like she had cheated him. Gu Dapeng genuinely clarified that he was just happy and wanted to share a drink with Fu Fangshu, never thinking she had sold him fake wine; he would cherish anything from her.

Niu Meili then explicitly told him that there was no future for them, as he wasn't her type and never would be, urging him not to waste his time on her. Gu Dapeng admitted he understood, as Fu Fangshu had told him similar things, but he still hoped to be friends, to occasionally share a drink or chat. He confessed that he was attracted to her when they first met and still held a fancy for her.

Niu Meili, however, was in a complicated emotional state, reminding him that no one lives an easy life. She then revealed her heartache about Hao Zeyu ending up in the hospital due to his efforts to gain weight for a role. As she shed tears, Gu Dapeng silently left, but Niu Meili called out, telling him the wine would stay with her and he could come drink it anytime he wished.

Meanwhile, Hao Zeyu was live-streaming an eating broadcast, preparing to eat five buckets of popcorn, three drumsticks, and a family bucket of fried chicken. Fu Zi expressed concern about his diet, suggesting he eat her father's home-cooked food instead, but Hao Zeyu dismissed her, explaining his strategy to attract viewers. During the broadcast, a viewer challenged Hao Zeyu to drink a bucket of peanut oil in exchange for a "racing team."

Driven by the need for money, Hao Zeyu eagerly accepted, despite Fu Zi's desperate attempts to stop him. He explained that he couldn't just spend money; he wanted to earn it to redeem Niu Meili's bags and alleviate the burden on Fu Fangshu, who worked hard driving a taxi and cooking for him. He believed he could just throw up the oil later. After consuming the peanut oil, Hao Zeyu was rushed to the hospital with acute pancreatitis.

Niu Meili arrived and angrily scolded Fu Zi for not stopping him. The doctor confirmed Hao Zeyu was out of danger but warned that future relapses, caused by binge eating and high-fat foods, could be fatal. Hao Zeyu felt deeply apologetic to Fu Zi, Niu Meili, and Fu Fangshu for being such a burden. He couldn't shake the feeling of being a "loser."

Fu Zi's father stayed overnight to look after Hao Zeyu, sending Fu Zi home, emphasizing it was inappropriate for a young woman to stay alone with a man in the hospital. Later that night, as Hao Zeyu tossed and turned, unable to sleep, he and Fu Fangshu had a candid conversation. Hao Zeyu reflected on his ten years in Beijing with no achievements, expressing his sadness.

Fu Fangshu, reminiscing about his taxi driving days, shared his joy in seeing young, ambitious people arrive in Beijing with nothing but dreams, their hope a powerful energy that kept him feeling young. The next morning, Fu Zi brought Hao Zeyu rice porridge. She noticed his face looked swollen and concerned, she went to ask the doctor. The doctor explained that hormones in Hao Zeyu's medication were causing him to gain weight, which was a normal side effect.

Misinterpreting this as a good thing for his role, Fu Zi asked the doctor to increase the hormone dosage, but the doctor sternly refused, stating the hospital's purpose was to heal, not to fulfill such requests. Despite his discomfort, Hao Zeyu worried about his appearance, concerned that it might affect his acting career. Upon his discharge, Niu Meili quickly arranged a meeting with Director Peng, proudly informing him that Hao Zeyu had gained 7. 5 kilograms for the role.

However, Director Peng revealed he had changed the script; the story was now set in the Ming Dynasty, requiring a thin actor. Fu Fangshu, realizing Director Peng was toying with them, angrily confronted him. Niu Meili, desperate to secure the role for Hao Zeyu, knelt before the director, pleading for the opportunity. Enraged by Fu Fangshu's interference, Hao Zeyu harshly told Fu Zi to drag her father out, then humbly promised Director Peng that he would lose the weight quickly.

Afterward, Hao Zeyu apologized to Fu Fangshu and Fu Zi, acknowledging his rudeness but explaining his desperation to not let their efforts be in vain. That evening, over drinks, Fu Zi and Niu Meili tearfully expressed their determination. Fu Zi declared she would embark on the weight loss journey alongside Hao Zeyu. Later, Hao Zeyu found Fu Fangshu watering plants in the courtyard and thanked him.

He confided in Fu Fangshu that he knew Director Peng was playing games but chose not to tell Fu Zi because of her pure and simple nature, wanting to shield her from such disappointments. The next day, Fu Zi took charge of Hao Zeyu's diet, confiscating all his snacks and money, vowing to return them only after he successfully lost weight. She began a strict regimen of exercise and unappetizing diet meals, acting as his vigilant supervisor.

Hao Zeyu struggled, his mouth watering at the sight of street-side lamb skewers, which Fu Zi ruthlessly pulled him away from. Despite their efforts, his weight didn't decrease, leaving him frustrated and craving ice cream. Fu Zi, attempting a clever solution, blindfolded Hao Zeyu and tied him to a chair, then gave him yogurt with nuts, encouraging him to imagine it as delicious ice cream. Exhausted from the day, Hao Zeyu fell asleep in the chair.

Fu Zi, feeling a pang of pity, almost gave him instant noodles but reminded herself to be firm for his own good. Hao Zeyu later woke up, covered the sleeping Fu Zi with a blanket, and got a cup of soy milk from the kitchen. He saw Fu Zi's painstaking efforts for his weight loss, which touched him and motivated him to continue exercising even without her supervision. Touched but still battling his cravings, he slipped out while Fu Zi slept, heading to a BBQ stall, only to be caught red-handed by Fu Fangshu.
