Dong En asked Niu Meili to delete the online video of him playing the violin, stating he did not wish to enter the entertainment industry or stay in Beijing. While Beijing was a place he had longed for as a child, he discovered it was not the life he wanted, though he would still like the city even after leaving. He was grateful that the video allowed more people to hear his music.

As a farewell gift, Dong En bought Niu Meili a violin, believing it particularly suited her, and then resolutely departed. Fu Zi, feeling heavy-hearted, left Shi Rujing's company and carefully considered Shi Rujing's words regarding Hao Zeyu's future and dreams. She realized that while she could accompany Hao Zeyu through his struggles, his aspirations required more professional guidance. Deciding to prioritize Hao Zeyu's career, Fu Zi, uncharacteristically, invited Niu Meili to an expensive Western restaurant, surprising her.

Fu Zi brought up Hao Zeyu's film promotions, explaining that Shi Rujing, who was Bai Jiaojiao's agent, had helped. Niu Meili remarked with a hint of sourness that Shi Rujing had likely only included Hao Zeyu while promoting her own artist. Seeing how much Shi Rujing had helped, Fu Zi tried to persuade Niu Meili to sign Hao Zeyu with Shi Rujing.

Niu Meili understood Fu Zi's intention for the dinner and, with a touch of sadness, agreed to fulfill Hao Zeyu's wishes, stating Fu Zi didn't need to play the "bad person." Niu Meili hoped for Fu Zi and Hao Zeyu's long-term well-being but cautioned Fu Zi that after signing with Shi Rujing, Hao Zeyu would no longer be the "scamp" he once was.

Fu Zi returned home feeling dejected and guilty towards Niu Meili, yet she refused to delay Hao Zeyu's future. Her father comforted her, supporting her decision by explaining that Shi Rujing could indeed offer Hao Zeyu a superior future that Niu Meili currently could not provide. Fu Zi, who had initially feared a scolding, was greatly relieved by her father's backing.

That night, Niu Meili stayed home, continuously looking at Hao Zeyu's photos and recalling the scenes from their three years together, including their first meeting. The next day, Niu Meili, having exhausted her strategies, visited Hao Zeyu in his home, bringing food, and the atmosphere was tinged with sadness. She expressed her pride that agents were now competing for Hao Zeyu and wanted to hear his honest feelings about joining Shi Rujing's company.

Hao Zeyu confessed he wanted to go but was conflicted, fearing the loss of Niu Meili and Fu Zi. He acknowledged that while Shi Rujing could provide resources they could not, Niu Meili, Fu Zi, and Fu Zi's father offered a unique warmth that Shi Rujing could not. Hearing this, Niu Meili fully accepted the situation.

She admitted that before that day, she had been reluctant to let Hao Zeyu go, but she now understood that work and personal feelings should be kept separate, and Hao Zeyu deserved a better future. Niu Meili reassured him not to feel any burden, urging him to pursue his dreams steadfastly, for they would always remain a family. Hao Zeyu, in turn, promised to cover her birthday drinks in the future.

With Hao Zeyu's signing with Shi Rujing now certain, Shi Rujing offered Zhao Xiaobei her artist styling resources as payment for his help, but he refused. Zhao Xiaobei then informed Shi Rujing that their task was complete and they no longer needed to meet frequently, stating that not every relationship could revert to friendship and that they were better off forgetting each other. Shi Rujing thanked him for his past companionship, expressing her reluctance but respecting his decision.

Zhao Xiaobei hugged Shi Rujing goodbye, a farewell to their past relationship. As Zhao Xiaobei turned to leave, he was startled to find Niu Meili standing at the office door, having just witnessed their farewell embrace. Niu Meili was deeply shocked by the sight but chose to ignore Zhao Xiaobei, approaching Shi Rujing to request a private conversation about signing Hao Zeyu.

Niu Meili sought to negotiate terms on Hao Zeyu's behalf, but Shi Rujing summoned various company directors and Hao Zeyu's future agent, leaving Niu Meili feeling outnumbered. All the while, Zhao Xiaobei anxiously paced outside the company, waiting for Niu Meili, desperate to explain his relationship with Shi Rujing. After a prolonged negotiation, Niu Meili finally concluded her discussions.

Zhao Xiaobei immediately attempted to explain himself, but Niu Meili, feeling profoundly betrayed and heartbroken, was unwilling to listen, dryly noting that his mission was complete with Hao Zeyu's impending signing. Niu Meili subsequently ignored Zhao Xiaobei's calls. That evening, Niu Meili drank alone at home, while Zhao Xiaobei waited outside her house for a long time, regretting not having been honest sooner about his relationship with Shi Rujing.

He realized his well-intentioned concealment had ultimately caused Niu Meili significant pain and, after being repeatedly hung up on, he sighed and left, not daring to enter. Deeply hurt, Niu Meili silently deleted all of Zhao Xiaobei's contact information. Later, Fu Zi's father gathered Niu Meili and Hao Zeyu for a farewell dinner, making special dumplings for Hao Zeyu's departure. The atmosphere among them was heavy with sadness.
