Mr. Fighting Episode 35 Recap
> Mr. Fighting Recap
Hao Zeyu was away from Beijing filming for over a month, extending into winter, for a total of six months. During this time, Fu Zi eagerly counted the days on her calendar, awaiting his return. Hao Zeyu faced daily challenges, often recalling Fu Zi's smiling face. He sent Fu Zi a large bouquet of fresh flowers with a card, in his own handwriting, asking if she missed him, while Fu Zi's father received a single branch.
Fu Zi proudly showed off her flowers to her dad, who, despite feigning annoyance about the wastefulness, was secretly pleased. After a brief phone call with Fu Zi, Hao Zeyu had to return to filming, which was proceeding smoothly. Six months later, the film wrapped, and Hao Zeyu returned to Beijing. He instructed Fu Zi not to pick him up at the airport, giving excuses such as waiting for takeoff and not wanting her to make the trip.
Fu Zi pretended to be angry, believing he didn't want to see her sooner, to which Hao Zeyu responded with a saying about enduring love. Immediately after landing, Peng Yongkang called Hao Zeyu for a meeting. Peng Yongkang, whose attitude was usually critical, was now unusually gentle and soft, leaving Hao Zeyu flustered and unaccustomed. Peng Yongkang offered Hao Zeyu the male lead in a new play, even letting him name his own salary, and presented him with the script.
Hao Zeyu, however, deferred, asking to read the script first and making an excuse about another appointment to leave. Seeing his haste, Peng Yongkang handed him a prepared gift. Hao Zeyu then surprised Fu Zi by returning home through the back door with his suitcase while she was preparing dinner.
Fu Zi froze in surprise, and after Hao Zeyu playfully teased her calm reaction, she embraced him tightly with the kitchen knife still in her hand, fearing he would disappear after half a year apart. Fu Zi's father had prepared sauce noodles, and Fu Zi began to mix them for Hao Zeyu when her dad, feeling jealous, snatched them away.
Hao Zeyu, who had endured tough filming conditions for six months, traded the Pu'er tea given by Peng Yongkang for the noodles and, while eating the familiar taste of home, felt immensely satisfied, internally cursing Fu Zi's dad for always competing with him. Later, as Fu Zi washed dishes, Hao Zeyu chatted with her and secretly kissed her hair behind Fu Zi's father's back. Fu Zi, however, sternly told him not to lie to her again, preferring honesty and transparency.
While they were being affectionate, Fu Zi's dad intentionally separated them, calling Fu Zi to drink tea, much to her internal chagrin. Unable to sleep from the tea, Fu Zi's father asked about its origin, prompting Hao Zeyu to explain Peng Yongkang's script offer. Hao Zeyu was unsure whether to accept; the idea of it being a "sequel" seemed unreliable, but he felt a sense of gratitude towards Peng Yongkang.
He knew that if he discussed it with Fu Zi and Niu Meili, they would undoubtedly tell him to accept without hesitation. Separately, Shi Rujing texted Hao Zeyu late at night, asking him to meet the next day. When they met, Shi Rujing revealed that she had rejected the same project from Peng Yongkang for Bai Jiaojiao, advising Hao Zeyu to do the same, as such a play shouldn't be taken.
Hao Zeyu clarified he was still considering it, but Peng Yongkang had already put his name on the project proposal, showing his determination. Shi Rujing explained that Peng Yongkang's motive was to make money because his plays were no longer market-suitable. He was playing an "emotional card" to secure Hao Zeyu, who had filmed a big movie and was now in a different position, intending to use him to attract a good female actress to earn money.
She warned Hao Zeyu that audiences would not give him a second chance and urged him to consider carefully. Consequently, when Peng Yongkang repeatedly called for a meeting, Hao Zeyu recalled Shi Rujing's warning and declined, citing being newly returned to Beijing and having many commitments. Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi were watering a tree that Fu Zi had raised while he was away, and Hao Zeyu suggested they raise a tree together, "like raising their child."
Fu Zi blushed, and Fu Zi's father, returning from grocery shopping, overheard this, which startled him. At lunch, Hao Zeyu and Fu Zi flirtatiously served each other food, further increasing Fu Zi's father's dissatisfaction and concern for Fu Zi. Fearing Fu Zi would get hurt, Fu Zi's dad expressed his desire for Hao Zeyu not to stay with Fu Zi daily.
He reminded them that Hao Zeyu had initially been taken in to avoid trouble, and now that the situation had passed, it was time for him to move back to his own place. Fu Zi was upset and scolded her dad for not discussing it beforehand, but Hao Zeyu asked her to go inside, understanding her father's feelings.
Hao Zeyu agreed to move, recognizing that living for free, despite Fu Zi's father's current leniency, was not appropriate in the long run. Meanwhile, Gu Dapeng and Zhao Xiaobei separately sought emotional counseling from Ren Jiajia. Gu Dapeng, secretly competing with Zhao Xiaobei for Niu Meili's affection, even planned to buy a better car than Zhao Xiaobei's. Ren Jiajia's father returned from a business trip, waiting at her school to pick her up, as he needed to discuss something important.
He asked her to get in the car and have dinner with him. He apologized for a previous incident where he had brought someone home without notice, admitting he hadn't considered her feelings. He also felt they lacked communication and, realizing Ren Jiajia had grown into a young woman, promised to consult her on all future family matters. After much preamble, he hesitantly revealed that he and his girlfriend were getting their marriage certificate that very afternoon. Ren Jiajia was initially unable to accept this news.
