Xiao Wudi searched everywhere for Nan Xing and happened to encounter a family of passersby. The passersby recognized his identity but were not afraid of him—instead, they expressed gratitude for his life-saving deed. Xiao Wudi was surprised, as in Nan Xing's novel, he was a villain. He wanted to know if there were any other heroes, but the passersby said no and only told him the location of Fairy Spring.

Xiao Wudi arrived at Fairy Spring and tossed a coin in to make a wish, hoping to return to Nan Xing. However, there was no reaction. He then jumped into the water, thinking of how Nan Xing had saved him in the water when she first found him. Nan Xing stayed in Xiao Wudi’s room, holding the ceramic bowl they made together, crying and thinking of him.

Ye Qing helped her parents run their restaurant and was in charge of food deliveries. Lu Zichen found Ye Qing's hometown and watched as she rode away on her bike. Ye Qing’s mother spoke with Lu Zichen, saying that Ye Qing had been independent since childhood. Although she didn’t want her daughter to work so hard, seeing her persistence, she accepted it.

She hoped Lu Zichen would mature soon, as she didn’t want the boy her daughter liked to stay immature. Nan Xing continued working, firmly believing Xiao Wudi would return. Until he did, she would wait for him. She became more familiar with her assistant duties, helping to organize Lu Zichen's schedule efficiently. She planted a seed in the ceramic bowl, determined to guard and nurture it.

Nan Xing’s days were packed—handling company investments during the day and writing her novel at night. Her mother, having not seen Xiao Wudi for a while, asked about him. Nan Xing told her he had returned to his hometown. Lu Zichen encountered obstacles everywhere when seeking investments—many company bosses didn’t believe in his business. He refused to accept any more money from his father and decided to sell his house to invest in the company.

Nan Xing couldn’t stop him and could only contact an agent to list the house. Not knowing what to do, Nan Xing sought advice from Ye Qing. Ye Qing was very busy at the restaurant, and Nan Xing helped her with work after arriving. She noticed Ye Qing was different from how she was at the company. Ye Qing made her wontons and invited her for barbecue.

Nan Xing told her that Lu Zichen was selling his house to buy out his father’s shares and push him out. She hoped Ye Qing would return to the company to stop him. After learning this, Ye Qing messaged Lu Zichen, who replied that since she had resigned, she should rest well. Nan Xing realized there were many issues in the company and wondered when Ye Qing would return.

Teacher Shi reminded her that the interview for the New Star Project lacked only Nan Xing and Xiao Wudi, and asked her to ensure Xiao Wudi participated once she got in touch with him. Lu Zichen’s house was quickly sold, and the agent called to inform him. Lu Zhenliang learned that Lu Zichen had gathered the money to buy shares and, impressed by his courage, decided not to say anything for now. Nan Xing’s workdays were fulfilling.

Her mother noticed she was becoming like a career woman and suggested a walk after dinner. Nan Xing declined, saying she had too much work. Looking at the wind chime by the window, she murmured to herself, convinced that Xiao Wudi would return someday.
