Everyone was reluctant to see Ye Qing leave after hearing about her resignation. When Ye Qing arrived at the office and saw the gifts on her desk, she guessed her departure had been leaked. Everyone gathered around her, sad to see her go. Ye Qing pretended to be strong and comforted them. Her courage and confidence greatly impressed Nan Xing. Everyone took a group photo with Ye Qing as a keepsake.

When Lu Zichen heard about Ye Qing’s resignation, he rushed to her office and asked why. Ye Qing said it was her decision, and no one could stop her. Lu Zichen humbly asked if she had never liked him. He couldn’t believe it. Ye Qing didn’t answer, and Lu Zichen stormed out. Back home, he remained in low spirits. Lu’s father told him that if not for Ye Qing, he would never have invested in Lu Zichen’s company.

Lu Zichen learned that it was his father who had forbidden Ye Qing from being with him. Xiao Wudi still couldn’t make sense of his origin. He once thought he was a martial arts master, extremely intelligent, and at least somewhat famous in ancient times. But after learning the truth, he realized that as a human being, he had no meaning and couldn’t see any hope. Nan Xing kept encouraging him and apologized for everything.

Xiao Wudi didn’t blame her—he just felt lost, with no memories of childhood and no direction in life. Nan Xing didn’t know how to comfort him and turned to her mother for advice. Her mother told her that life has rich meaning and doesn’t require overthinking. Many things are beyond our control, and it’s more important to enjoy the present. Nan Xing thought her mother was right and shared these words with Xiao Wudi.

Before Ye Qing left the company, she gave Nan Xing an assistant’s notebook. She believed in Nan Xing and praised her strong learning ability. But Nan Xing lacked confidence and only hoped to become a capable assistant like Ye Qing. Ye Qing explained why she had chosen Nan Xing—she admired her work and believed that one day, Nan Xing could become a talented author like Lu Zichen. Lu Zichen couldn’t find Ye Qing or reach her by phone.

He was very anxious. Ye Qing deliberately ignored his calls and returned to her hometown to help her parents run their wonton shop. Nan Xing promised to be responsible for Xiao Wudi. Xiao Wudi received a ceramic gift Nan Xing had made: bowls shaped like a little doll and a bear. Xiao Wudi was summoned by Nan Xing again, and when he arrived, he found himself lying in a crib. Nan Xing wanted to give him a childhood memory.

She had recreated scenes from his birth to college graduation and even celebrated his birthday. Nan Xing apologized again and said she wanted to use the rest of her life to make up for what Xiao Wudi lacked. Xiao Wudi was very touched. He made a wish to protect Nan Xing for the rest of his life. After blowing out the candles together, Xiao Wudi held Nan Xing in his arms and kissed her.

While embracing passionately, Xiao Wudi suddenly disappeared. Nan Xing opened her eyes, thinking Xiao Wudi was joking, but no matter how many times she called out to him, he didn’t appear. She rushed back to his place and found that everything he had brought from ancient times had vanished. Nan Xing cried and called out his name throughout the room, even used the summoning words for help, but Xiao Wudi never appeared. Xiao Wudi woke up and found himself lying in bed. He had returned to Hehuan Palace in ancient times.
