After the writing retreat, Lu Zichen couldn’t figure things out and kept sleeping at the office. Nan Xing brought him the meeting schedule and noticed he wasn’t doing well. She guessed he had a conflict with Ye Qing. During the meeting, everyone was discussing the shortlisted works and the award ceremony, but Lu Zichen was absent-minded, repeatedly asking Ye Qing why. Ye Qing quickly ended the meeting and spoke to Lu Zichen alone.

She hoped he wouldn’t let emotions affect work—otherwise, she would have no choice but to leave the company. Lu Zichen didn’t want her to leave, but he couldn’t stop her. Ye Qing asked a subordinate to organize and report the project work to her. She asked Nan Xing to help arrange a one-on-one meeting with Xiao Wudi. Nan Xing called Xiao Wudi and told him that Ye Qing wanted to meet him alone.

Xiao Wudi had prepared a surprise for Nan Xing, and Nan Xing also wanted to take him to a mysterious place. After work, Nan Xing walked out of the office and saw Xiao Wudi waiting. He handed her a processed birth certificate and joked that with this, he could get a household registration and infiltrate X Culture, even buy the company. Nan Xing believed him and told him not to use a fake birth certificate—it’s illegal.

Xiao Wudi made her laugh and said he had seriously thought about giving her a stable future. Nan Xing was touched and took Xiao Wudi to her alma mater, sharing stories from her school days. When they reached a pond, Nan Xing said she had always liked this place when she was a student. There were two turtles in the pond, and she fantasized about walking circles with someone she liked and having endless things to talk about.

But she never dated anyone before graduation. They then went to the classroom where Nan Xing used to have classes. She found her seat, number 59. Nan Xing mentioned there was a boy in her class who often wrote a letter on the blackboard. It wasn’t until graduation that everyone found out the letter represented the girl he had liked all along. After he confessed, they got together.

Xiao Wudi, seeing Nan Xing so happy, walked to the blackboard and wrote her name. Nan Xing also wrote Xiao Wudi’s name and drew a heart around both their names. Xiao Wudi couldn’t resist trying to kiss her. Just as he lowered his head, the classroom door opened. A security guard came in with a flashlight and asked what they were doing. Xiao Wudi didn’t hesitate—he grabbed Nan Xing and ran out of the classroom.

On the way to meet Ye Qing, Xiao Wudi passed by a cake shop and bought a bear-shaped cake for Nan Xing. When he arrived at the office, Ye Qing wanted to discuss Nan Xing’s interests. She didn’t know about their relationship and wanted to understand their division of roles. Xiao Wudi found out that Nan Xing had written a fanfiction novel in which the villain character was based on him.

Xiao Wudi was in a daze and left the office with the cake without seeing Nan Xing. Nan Xing saw this and chased after him. Xiao Wudi didn’t want to see her. After learning he was a character from her novel and not someone who had time-traveled from ancient times, he blamed her for keeping it from him. Nan Xing couldn’t explain and held the bear cake, silently crying.

Ye Qing realized she had misunderstood their relationship and apologized to Nan Xing. She had originally wanted to finalize the novel contract before resigning. Hearing this, Nan Xing couldn’t hold back her emotions and burst into tears. Xiao Wudi locked himself in his room. He felt he wasn’t a real person, just a fictional creation. Nan Xing was worried about him, but Xiao Wudi didn’t know how to face her and kept avoiding her. Thinking he hadn’t gone home, Nan Xing waited downstairs. When Xiao Wudi saw her, he felt bad.
