Miss The Dragon Episode 20 Recap
> Miss The Dragon Recap
With the arrival of the Dongluo Imperial Advisor to sue for peace, the war finally ended. Before her deceased father's memorial tablet, General Feng Chenyue announced that she had fulfilled his wish by repelling the invading forces. She then thanked her soldiers for their sacrifices, without which the border would not be at peace.
In the Dongluo camp, Prince Han Xiyun, now blind in one eye, was enraged that his father had forced peace talks, feeling his dignity had been trampled. Brushing aside his subordinate Jin's counsel to wait until he ascended the throne, Han Xiyun declared that his fate was in his own hands. Consumed by a desire for revenge, he ordered Jin not to kill Chenyue, but to capture her and make her experience his pain and wish for death.
Meanwhile, the Military Supervisor, Lu Zheng, sought out Long Yan. He presented a box of ginseng, expressing gratitude not as an official, but as a man thankful for the rescue of the most important person in his life. He confessed his deep affection for Chenyue, revealing they were childhood sweethearts and that he had volunteered for his post after becoming Top Scholar just to be near her, with the intention of one day marrying her.
At the subsequent celebration banquet, Chenyue toasted her troops. Seeing her drink heavily, Lu Zheng stepped in to take the drinks on her behalf. Soldiers nearby gossiped about the pair, noting Lu Zheng's obvious affection. While some questioned the suitability of a "male scholar, female warrior" dynamic, others deemed them a perfect match and speculated about an impending wedding. Overhearing this, Long Yan felt a deep sense of unease.
The next day, Lu Zheng presented Chenyue with a wild horse he had personally tamed. Chenyue politely declined, stating her current mount was fine, and suggested giving the fine horse to Uncle Zhao, whose own horse was aging. Later, Lu Zheng discovered a drawing of a dragon among Chenyue's belongings. He lamented to Long Yan that while he had tried to gift her a fine horse and bow, she liked none of them.
Now, knowing her fondness for dragons, he felt at a loss, as one could not simply capture a dragon from the heavens. After their conversation, Lu Zheng suddenly had an idea. Lu Zheng later surprised Chenyue with a dragon kite, speaking of a "connection of minds" between them. His words reminded Chenyue of a promise from Long Yuchi, Qingqing's brother, that he could always find her.
This led her to wonder if Lu Zheng was hinting that he was the Dragon King, though something felt amiss. As they flew the kite, a real white dragon—Long Yan in his true form—appeared in the sky. Jealous of the scene, he created a strong wind that snapped the kite string. Lu Zheng then departed, citing urgent business. Convinced the Dragon King was near, Chenyue chased after the disappearing dragon, wondering why he was being so shy.
Elsewhere, Qingqing observed the spectacle and mocked Long Yan for being jealous of a "fake dragon," calling him a "vinegar jar." The sound of her laughter reached Xue Qianxun, who found it both familiar and strange, stirring a deep curiosity. Chenyue found Lu Zheng and hopefully called him "Yuchi Gege." Lu Zheng, misunderstanding, thought she was referring to the rebellious Duke Long and warned her against such dangerous talk.
Realizing her mistake, Chenyue was disappointed but remained convinced the Dragon King was nearby, pondering who he could be if not Lu Zheng. Determined to undermine Chenyue, Han Xiyun concluded that the best way to bypass the heavily guarded Feng Army was to bribe officials in Wind City and lure her back to the capital. He noted that his father was sending Princess Arhui for a marriage alliance and instructed Jin to accompany her.
Jin's mission was to ensure Chenyue's return to Wind City and then assassinate her. In Wind City, the King prepared to reward the Feng Army. However, a minister raised concerns that Chenyue's early success might make her arrogant, suggesting a recall to the capital would test her loyalty. An imperial edict was issued, commanding General Feng Chenyue to return to Wind City within a strict ten-day deadline to be rewarded.
At court, the newly arrived Princess Arhui, now Consort Rui, was instructed by Jin to foster ties with the Queen. Jin assured her that Chenyue would return if they willed it. Meanwhile, court officials discussed Chenyue's influence, with one remarking that as a female official in the capital, she would need to be taught the proper rules of conduct. Back at the camp, Chenyue practiced her Xuantian Swordsmanship.
Impressed by Long Yan's skill, she challenged him to a match and afterward asked him to become her Chief Guard and accompany her to Wind City. Long Yan hesitated, but Chenyue told him to give her an answer the next day. Just then, Lu Zheng arrived.
Long Yan excused himself, and Lu Zheng revealed to Chenyue that he had received a secret letter from his father, warning him that some ministers were displeased with her achievements and advising him to distance himself. Though Lu Zheng professed not to fear gossip, he warned Chenyue that her return to Wind City would be more dangerous than any battle and, as he could not accompany her, she must be extremely cautious.
