Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Episode 36 Recap
> Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Recap
Having suffered significant spiritual damage from unsealing the Dragon Deity, Bai Ying found herself vulnerable. Su Mo quickly moved to stabilize her, using the Mirror Spell to restore her spiritual senses, but Bai Ying, despite her injuries, urged him to seek out the Dragon Deity. At that moment, the Dragon Deity finally appeared, eliciting cheers from the Quanxian people who believed salvation was at hand.
Meanwhile, Zhi Zhe, frustrated by his failure to prevent the Dragon Deity's emergence, lamented his lost opportunity. Su Mo approached the Dragon Deity, but it hesitated and expressed anger, questioning Su Mo's identity and his right to be the Sea Emperor. It accused him of possessing a "destructive force," which it deemed unworthy of its power.
Su Mo defended his cultivation, arguing that kindness alone could not protect his people or those he loved, and strength was necessary to fulfill his mission of leading the Quanxian back to Biluo Sea. After Su Mo demonstrated his resolve, the Dragon Deity acknowledged him as the Sea Emperor and instructed him to place his hand on its body to receive its power.
However, due to the Mirror Spell and Lie Skill already within him, Su Mo was unable to fully absorb the Dragon Deity's immense strength. Distressed by this setback, Su Mo suddenly saw Bai Ying in grave danger at Stranded Dragon Abyss. The fake Su Mo had scaled the platform and used the Splitting Sword to stab Bai Ying in the chest. Su Mo desperately commanded the Dragon Deity to rush to her, but it was too late.
As Bai Ying collapsed, she expressed her contentment at having met Su Mo and hoped for his happiness and freedom in Biluo Sea. Su Mo, holding the injured Bai Ying, vowed to save her, his tears falling as pearls, a phenomenon witnessed by the Quanxian people below. The Dragon Deity carried Su Mo and Bai Ying back to the Quanxian main camp, where Si Shi examined Bai Ying and found her five rhymes and six senses were shut down.
She explained that forcefully reopening them would cause further injury, but without intervention, Bai Ying would not last long. Su Mo, distraught, revealed that he had not received the Dragon Deity's power and insisted they proceed with the forceful method, willing to do anything to save Bai Ying's life. He then used the Mirror Spell to open Bai Ying's five rhymes and six senses, causing him to faint from the exertion. Si Shi then took over his treatment.
Zhen Lan and Na Sheng arrived, unaware of Su Mo's failure to gain the Dragon Deity's power, assuming he could easily heal Bai Ying. They were told that Su Mo was in the ice chamber treating Bai Ying and that she was in a critical condition. After a tense wait, Si Shi emerged, confirming Bai Ying's breathing was stable but Su Mo had lost a great deal of power and required treatment himself.
Zhen Lan and Na Sheng stayed by Bai Ying's side, with Zhen Lan silently wishing for her swift recovery. Meanwhile, Yu Zhu appealed to Zhi Zhe for help in finding Yu Huan, who had been missing since the battle at Stranded Dragon Abyss. Zhi Zhe coldly dismissed Yu Huan as useless, stating he would reserve opportunities for more worthy individuals. Despite Zhi Zhe's refusal, Fei Lian and his men eventually located the unconscious Yu Huan.
They brought him back to their camp, only to find that no medical officers were allowed to treat him without Master Lang's authorization. Realizing this was a deliberate attempt by the five masters to eliminate Yu Huan, Fei Lian and Yu Zhu devised a plan. Yu Zhu approached Master Lang, presenting him with Fei Lian's jade pendant and implying that Yu Huan knew Fei Lian's whereabouts.
After receiving treatment, Su Mo awoke and called for Si Shi, who assured him of Bai Ying's stable condition, though she remained unconscious from the forceful healing. Su Mo, still grappling with his inability to harness the Dragon Deity's power due to the Mirror Spell and Lie Skill within him, questioned his worthiness as the Sea Emperor. Si Shi reassured him, reminding him that a true Sea Emperor's strength transcended bloodlines.
Su Mo later visited Bai Ying, reflecting on their difficult path and wishing for her to wake up. In her sleep, Bai Ying softly murmured Su Mo's name, prompting him to promise he would wait for her to recover. Zhen Lan then joined Su Mo, inquiring about the mysterious assailant who injured Bai Ying at the Stranded Dragon Abyss. Su Mo admitted he couldn't clearly see the attacker's face.
Recognizing their current inability to unlock the final Seal of Six Harmonies, Su Mo proposed seizing the opportunity to strike at the weakened Cangliu army after their heavy casualties. Zhen Lan agreed, suggesting they target Cangliu's neighboring provinces first, specifically Taoyuan Province, to prevent reinforcements to Jing City. Su Mo added that Aunt Ru, who was in Taoyuan Province, could provide assistance.
Separately, the fake Su Mo, now named Huai Feng by Zhi Zhe and empowered with the Skill of Lie, successfully infiltrated the Quanxian main camp by feigning illness. There, two children, Han and Che, cared for him. Through their chatter, Huai Feng learned about an "ice chamber" where Sea Emperor Su Mo was recovering from an injury sustained at the Stranded Dragon Abyss. Huai Feng plotted to use the children to learn more about Su Mo's condition.
Concurrently, Ning Liang received news from Xiang that Yan Xi had been captured and imprisoned in Cangliu's military camp in Jing City. Na Sheng urgently pleaded with Su Mo to rescue him. Su Mo, however, cautioned against a direct assault, citing the Land-Sea Alliance soldiers' injuries.
Instead, he proposed a strategic rescue: while Zhen Lan and Xi Jing created a diversion by attacking Taoyuan Province, drawing Cangliu's forces, Ning Liang and Xiang would seize the opportune moment to free Yan Xi. Su Mo believed they could enlist the help of Gao Shunzhao, a local official who was dissatisfied with Cangliu's tyranny, to create the necessary chaos in Taoyuan Province. Na Sheng was instructed to remain at the Quanxian Camp to prepare for Yan Xi's return, highlighting her vital role in the plan.
