Jin Zeyi had planned to treat Luo Tianran to dinner, but Tiffany kept him for their seven-year collaboration anniversary celebration, leading him to a social engagement. Luo Tianran waited for Jin Zeyi at Xinghuo Road Shopping Mall until midnight, and when the mall closed, she had to leave hungry. Jin Zeyi's phone had died during the engagement.
After he finished, he instructed A Tai to drive Tiffany home, then took a taxi to the mall, but he couldn't find Luo Tianran. Upon returning home, Jin Zeyi found Luo Tianran cooking. She immediately confronted him, demanding an explanation for standing her up and not even calling.
Jin Zeyi, feeling tired and a bit tipsy, and sensing Luo Tianran's lack of understanding for his forced social obligations, retorted that she had no right to question his affairs, stating that how he spent his nights was none of her business as they were not a real couple. She then presented him with a meticulously crafted schedule, explaining that as contract partners, they should avoid interfering with each other's lives. Luo Tianran left the house after giving him the schedule. She went to a record store, where she coincidentally met Yun Shu.
They discovered a shared interest in music, particularly Nick's first album, which was a rare, reserved item. Yun Shu had secured the album after much effort but, upon seeing Luo Tianran's keen interest, generously gave it to her, insisting that as fellow music lovers, he couldn't deprive her. To express her gratitude, Luo Tianran invited Yun Shu to lunch. Unexpectedly, they ran into Jin Zeyi, who was dining with friends and happened to be one of the restaurant's owners.
Seeing Luo Tianran with Yun Shu, Jin Zeyi immediately abandoned his friends and intruded on their table, taking Luo Tianran's hand and repeatedly calling her "honey" to emphasize their closeness. Despite Jin Zeyi's attempts to dominate the conversation and remove a decorative flower he deemed "in the way," Luo Tianran and Yun Shu continued to chat comfortably. Luo Tianran even praised Yun Shu's previous heroic act in saving a patient, recalling how "awesome" he was. Jin Zeyi, feeling jealous, feigned a sudden urgent family matter.
He went to the restroom, then returned to inform Luo Tianran that his mother had called, claiming their grandmother was seriously ill and urging them to rush home. Luo Tianran, who deeply valued elders due to losing her parents early, immediately grew worried and insisted they leave. Outside the restaurant, Jin Zeyi tried to convince Luo Tianran to eat elsewhere, but she, solely focused on their grandmother's supposed illness, scolded him for his lack of concern. Under her persistent demands, Jin Zeyi reluctantly drove them to his parents' house. Upon entering, Luo Tianran immediately approached her grandmother, anxiously asking about her health.
The grandmother, who had only sneezed a couple of times due to Jin Zeyi's nagging, was perfectly fine and, misunderstanding Luo Tianran's frantic concern, thought she was cursing her. Luo Tianran, seeing her grandmother's healthy demeanor, realized Jin Zeyi had lied. Caught in his deception, Jin Zeyi stopped pretending.
As they prepared to leave, Jin Zeyi's mother asked Luo Tianran to be patient with Jin Zeyi's childlike behavior and sternly warned her son not to play such jokes again, especially considering their grandmother's age. Jin Zeyi was deep in rehearsals for his world tour concert, training rigorously every day. One afternoon, lunch was delivered to the rehearsal studio, and it turned out Luo Tianran was the delivery person. Despite her mask, Jin Zeyi recognized her.
He chased after her, demanding she quit her job, arguing that it was embarrassing for him as her husband. Luo Tianran retorted that earning money through honest labor was nothing to be ashamed of and that Jin Zeyi, living a sheltered life, wouldn't understand the struggles of ordinary people. Ignoring his protests, she left. News quickly spread among the staff that Jin Zeyi's wife was delivering takeout.
Reflecting on Luo Tianran's words about his lack of understanding for common hardships, Jin Zeyi decided to experience it himself. He visited the themed restaurant where Luo Tianran worked, observing her interacting with many children. The children adored Luo Tianran, and one young boy even claimed her as his girlfriend. Jin Zeyi then ordered a meal and declared his intention to "experience the life of ordinary people."
Luo Tianran promptly handed him an apron and put him in charge of the children. Jin Zeyi struggled to manage the energetic children and soon sought Luo Tianran's help. Together, they played "eagle and chickens," with Luo Tianran as the "chicken mother" and Jin Zeyi as the "fierce eagle." During the game, inevitable close contact occurred, and at one point, Luo Tianran stumbled, causing them to fall into an embrace. The children, quick to tease, cheered "Blush! Blush!"
The little boy who claimed Luo Tianran as his girlfriend reiterated it, prompting Jin Zeyi to produce their wedding photo, proudly declaring Luo Tianran his wife and that she was already married. When the boy started crying, Luo Tianran intervened, and Jin Zeyi quickly relented, telling the child he could have her.
