Hou Jue, still a bit awkward, arrived to pick up his fried rice. Doll offered Hou Jue a new fried rice dish, explaining that his packed order was still being prepared, and then called Hai Xing to join them. The two brothers engaged in some playful banter before each drinking a glass of chili wine and finally reconciling.

Hou Jue asked Hai Xing about the Yu Pei, to which Hai Xing replied that he had it ready and would retrieve it shortly. Hou Jue also brought up the matter of Hai Xing purchasing new equipment for the rescue team in Qian Qian's name, emphasizing that money should be spent on meaningful and valuable causes.

After their reconciliation, Hou Jue sent a photo of himself and Hai Xing to Wu Shiyi, letting her know they were back on good terms. Meanwhile, Qian Qian and Hou Zhirong were enjoying a sweet reunion, walking by the sea. Qian Qian suggested Hou Zhirong move in with her, considering Hou Jue needed his own space.

However, Hou Zhirong was hesitant, not wanting to trouble Qian Qian and also concerned about Hou Jue's potential disapproval, leaving him unsure of what to do. Qian Qian insisted he should not worry, reminding him of his age, his lack of property or a car, and having a son, concluding that no one else would want him except her.

Hou Zhirong reiterated his concern about Hou Jue's reaction, asking if Qian Qian remembered how upset Hou Jue was when his father interfered in his relationships. Qian Qian quickly corrected him, asserting that respect was the best way to treat Hou Jue, to which Hou Zhirong conceded. Liu Tiehao, still harboring ill will towards Hou Jue, followed him to the underground parking garage and secretly deflated his car tires.

Late that night, Doll, unable to sleep, went to the rooftop and found Hai Xing playing his guitar and drinking. She asked if he and Hou Jue had made up, and Hai Xing reassured her that their long-standing brotherhood meant such minor issues were nothing. Doll then told him that even if the whole world abandoned him, she would always stand by him.

She also praised him for being particularly handsome during today's rescue, describing him as her "big hero," different from his usual self. Hai Xing jokingly asked if she meant he wasn't handsome ordinarily, to which Doll clarified he was always handsome, but today he was "exceptionally handsome" and would only get more handsome. Doll moved closer, bravely addressing Hai Xing by his full name, asking him to sing for her, saying she hadn't heard him sing in a long time.

Hai Xing teased her about paying him, but then agreed to sing in exchange for a magic trick. He began to sing a heartfelt song about her eyes holding flowers and her kind smile, about her laughter and how he liked to joke around with her, concluding with promises of warmth, reliance, and being her "warm baby," and declaring that meeting her was his blessing, and everything would get better, even leading to having two little babies.

Doll, blushing, accidentally knocked over a small monkey figurine, but Hai Xing assured her it was fine, as there would be many more "little monkeys" in the future. The next day, Hou Jue's car alerted him to low tire pressure while driving. He pulled over and called Wu Shiyi, asking her to arrange car rescue, as he was in a hurry and would take a taxi.

Wu Shiyi offered to go with him, but Hou Jue insisted there wasn't enough time and hailed a taxi. As the taxi sped along, Hou Jue grew suspicious of the reckless driving. He noticed the driver deviating from the intended route. It was revealed that the driver, having noticed Wu Shiyi following, sped up and intentionally deviated from the original route. When the driver removed his fake beard, revealing himself to be Liu Tiehao, Hou Jue realized the danger.

Hou Jue tried to grab the steering wheel, but Liu Tiehao, acting erratically, fought back. The car lost control and crashed from the original road onto a construction section, causing chaos. Wu Shiyi, having lost sight of Hou Jue, immediately called Mr. Zhao to report the situation and tell him to track her signal and call the police. Liu Tiehao regained consciousness in the car amidst a muddy landscape.

He managed to start the damaged vehicle and drove it towards the sea. Hou Jue, unconscious in the back seat, still had a pulse. Liu Tiehao recorded a video of him on Hou Jue's phone and sent it to Hou Zhirong, then called him to demand a ransom. Hou Zhirong was distraught, pleading with Liu Tiehao not to harm Hou Jue and promising to meet any demands.

Liu Tiehao ordered him to transfer one million yuan to his account within five minutes. Shortly after he hung up, the car slid into the sea, pulling Liu Tiehao with it. Wu Shiyi rushed to the scene and immediately jumped into the water. She broke the car window, successfully rescuing Hou Jue. However, Wu Shiyi herself began to drown, at which critical moment, Hou Jue overcame his deep-seated fear of water and pulled her to safety.

The police arrived and took Liu Tiehao into custody, where he would face the consequences of his actions. Months later, Wu Shiyi transitioned from a frontline guard to an instructor, using her real-life experiences to design practical exercises for her new recruits. Zhirong Construction provided the venue for their joint exercise assessment. During the exercise, Wu Shiyi received a message from Hou Jue, saying he was going to a meeting but would celebrate her birthday that evening.

Suddenly, her team's signal was lost. Worried, Wu Shiyi hurried upstairs to find them, only to discover the entire Zhirong Construction building empty. As she approached a dark conference room, the lights suddenly flickered on, and "Happy Birthday" music began to play. Hou Jue emerged with Wu Tianyi, Zhang Yingnan, Mr. Zhao, Qian Qian, and Hou Zhirong, revealing a meticulously planned birthday surprise.

Hou Jue recounted the story of his relationship with Wu Shiyi, which began a year ago on what he initially thought was his unluckiest day. He had received a wedding invitation from an ex-girlfriend, only to realize he wasn't the groom, and was sulking in his car when "Wonder Woman" (Wu Shiyi) fell from the sky, denting his car and then "beating him up" when he confronted her. He then clarified he was joking about being beaten up.

What he once considered his worst day, he later recognized as his luckiest. He told Wu Shiyi that after meeting her, he felt both childish and brave, and that she didn't just save his life but also cured his "illness." He treasured every moment and coincidence that led him to her. Hou Jue then revealed that he had made a wish during Wu Shiyi's earlier birthday wish, and then presented her with his mother's Yu Pei, which he had redeemed.

He explained that it was the most important item in his life, his amulet, and from now on, he wished for her to keep it safe. Wu Shiyi initially demurred, saying he should keep it himself. But Hou Jue then knelt and proposed, declaring his willingness to exchange everything for two fortunes: one to meet her, and one to stay with her forever. Amidst cheers of "Marry him!" , Wu Shiyi accepted his proposal, expressing her joy and gratitude.

Hou Jue playfully asked her to promise to love him always, no matter how handsome or rich he became, and never to hit or scold him. Wu Tianyi quickly remarked that Hou Jue could never be serious for more than three minutes. Wu Shiyi, as the "bride-to-be," then addressed everyone, reflecting on how, a year ago, her life had hit rock bottom.

She thought she might never find the right person, especially being close to thirty and wary of investing time in potentially futile relationships. Yet, she also believed that without effort, there could be no reward. In her uncertainty, she met Hou Jue—a "flawed, very annoying guy" who kept her too busy dealing with him to think about other things. She thanked him for being a mirror, using his flaws to highlight her strengths and help her see her own worth.

Zhang Yingnan chimed in that they were a perfect match. Wu Shiyi concluded by stating that as long as there is love, there is hope, and it's never too late to pursue happiness, whether one is thirty, forty, fifty, or sixty. She affirmed her profound happiness with Hou Jue.
