Master Ling, Ling Hanyu's grandfather, insisted on arranging his grandson's wedding with An Chuxia after her graduation, despite their objections. An Chuxia, feeling pressured, revealed that she already had a partner. Unfazed, Master Ling praised An Chuxia's composure and ordered his assistant to secure a lucky date, a six-star hotel, and a chartered international flight for the wedding, ignoring Ling Hanyu's protests. Meanwhile, Han Qilu anxiously waited at home for An Chuxia's return.
He contacted Meng Xiaonan, who confirmed An Chuxia wasn't with her and wasn't answering her phone. Fearing she might be with Jiang Chenchuan, Han Qilu rushed out, only to find Jiang Chenchuan already waiting outside, concerned because An Chuxia hadn't answered his calls. Han Qilu curtly dismissed him. Master Ling then personally returned An Chuxia to the Han residence, announcing his intention to discuss her marriage to Ling Hanyu.
Han Qilu and Jiang Yuanyuan strongly opposed the union, with Jiang Yuanyuan stating An Chuxia was destined to marry Han Qilu. Ling Hanyu apologized for his grandfather's actions, explaining his past as a leader instilled a strong will. An Chuxia thanked Ling Hanyu for his past help, and he mentioned his injured hand would confine him home, preventing further interference from his grandfather. She offered to visit him when his grandfather was absent.
During the ensuing argument between Master Ling and Jiang Yuanyuan, An Chuxia retreated to her room. Han Qilu confronted her, accusing her of not answering his calls, and insulting her appearance and demeanor. An Chuxia retorted, reminding him of his previous proposal. Han Qilu feigned forgetfulness, leading to a heated exchange. The next morning, the Han family butler offered to drive An Chuxia and Han Qilu to school.
An Chuxia refused to ride with Han Qilu, calling him a “cocky man,” and walked to school alone. At school, Mo Xinwei attempted to engage Han Qilu, mentioning her father's interest in a business cooperation with the Han Group. Han Qilu remained distant, directing her to his mother. Mo Xinwei questioned his coldness, suggesting it might be due to Xiang Mankui's return or An Chuxia's presence. Han Qilu frankly stated that her feelings weren't reciprocated.
Jiang Chenchuan then passed by, closely following An Chuxia. Mo Xinwei observed this, commenting to Han Qilu that he would need to work harder to win An Chuxia, noting Jiang Chenchuan's persistence. That evening, Xiang Mankui unexpectedly visited An Chuxia and Jiang Yuanyuan. Jiang Yuanyuan was cool towards Xiang Mankui, subtly highlighting the changes in the house (new sofa, decorations) and An Chuxia's presence, before dismissing her. Xiang Mankui requested a private conversation with Han Qilu.
On the rooftop, Xiang Mankui reminisced about their past, mentioning unfulfilled promises. Han Qilu, however, ended their relationship definitively, stating it was over. He forgave her apology, but declared she meant nothing to him. An Chuxia and Jiang Yuanyuan overheard their conversation. After Han Qilu left, Xiang Mankui feigned injury to gain sympathy, but Jiang Yuanyuan remained unmoved and requested her departure.
The school introduced a new drama class, assigning An Chuxia, Han Qilu, Jiang Chenchuan, Xiang Mankui, Mo Xinwei, and Meng Xiaonan to the same group. Jiang Chenchuan, attempting a "cool CEO" persona, failed to impress An Chuxia. Roles for a scene from "Pride and Prejudice" were assigned by drawing lots. Jiang Chenchuan, unhappy with his role, tried to redraw, resulting in the teacher assigning him the role of the fireplace.
Meng Xiaonan, initially assigned the role of an umbrella, also expressed dissatisfaction. Han Qilu and Xiang Mankui were surprisingly assigned the leading roles. The teacher urged them to practice diligently for the upcoming rehearsal.
