Ling Hanyu returned to the country with a business deal worth 100 million, contingent upon the Han family winning the Le Xi bottle design competition. He jokingly suggested Han Qilu show his gratitude by giving An Chuxia to him, but Han Qilu stated his romantic rival wasn't him anymore. Meanwhile, Meng Xiaonan teased An Chuxia about rumors with Jiang Chenchuan from the previous night.
An Chuxia denied anything happened, but discovered a note from Jiang Chenchuan in her book reading, "I will be responsible for you," leaving her confused. Mo Xinwei then approached An Chuxia, feigning concern about her absence from home the previous night and offering assistance with the design competition. Jiang Chenchuan waited for An Chuxia and Meng Xiaonan after school.
He presented An Chuxia with a car trunk full of roses and dramatically declared he would be responsible for her, proclaiming, "From now on, An Chuxia is my girl!" An Chuxia vehemently denied anything happened beyond getting drunk and sleeping on the lawn, but Jiang Chenchuan persisted. Mo Xinwei observed Han Qilu drinking heavily, suspecting his distress stemmed from An Chuxia.
A power outage caused the other guests to leave, and the house steward revealed that Xiang Mankui had taken a heavily intoxicated Han Qilu away, leaving An Chuxia visibly disappointed. Jiang Chenchuan offered to drive An Chuxia home, but she suggested he take Meng Xiaonan instead. The next morning, An Chuxia displayed unusual gentleness towards Han Qilu, serving him breakfast. Han Qilu, surprised, jokingly suspected poisoning or flatulence in his food.
He questioned his actions from the previous night, remembering only their argument. An Chuxia brushed it off. Han Qilu then imposed three rules on An Chuxia: she could drink with other men but not get drunk, talk to them but not have heart-to-heart conversations, and spend the night with them but "not go too far." To his shock, An Chuxia agreed. Suspecting something was amiss, he checked her for a fever.
An Chuxia then confessed that she had discovered his secret: his identity as her anonymous encourager. Han Qilu, feigning skepticism, reminded her that even if he was that person, it didn't mean he was over Xiang Mankui. Later, Mo Xinwei and Xiang Mankui met, with Xiang Mankui commenting on their "perfect cooperation." Mo Xinwei admitted her realization that she and Han Qilu were incompatible, and her new goal was to eliminate An Chuxia and win the design competition. Xiang Mankui acknowledged her intentions, and as she left, Mo Xinwei muttered, "Let's see how long you can put up this act for," hinting at a hidden, manipulative agenda.
