Following up on hearing a delivery person's voice over their game chat, both Lu Jing and Liang Chen realize they are in the same cybercafe. The delivery person loudly seeks the owner of a Fish-Flavored Shredded Pork Rice order, causing a chaotic scene. Liang Chen, using her online alias "Noob", tries to hide, feeling embarrassed by the messy environment and her appearance.
Lu Jing, who had to switch cafes due to a power outage, spots her and feels more certain that she is Liang Chen. After a brief and awkward exchange about her upcoming birthday fan meeting, Lu Jing directly asks if she is the celebrity he suspects her to be. Before Lu Jing can get an answer, he and his classmate Zhou Zhou are called for their "Deep Sea Big Data" presentation at a university competition.
Having drawn the last slot, Lu Jing is disappointed they will miss Liang Chen's birthday event. While anxiously waiting backstage, they struggle with their overfitted model. A woman, who is actually Liang Chen in disguise, notices their problem and advises them to reduce the training iterations. Impressed, they ask for more details, and she agrees to connect on WeChat after they do her a favor.
Meanwhile, at her birthday event in Guangzhou, Liang Chen is visibly nervous and unsuccessfully tries to change the show's schedule. Lu Jing manages to get into the fan meeting by fabricating a story about his girlfriend being inside. During a lucky draw, the first number called is 187—Lu Jing's ticket number—but he is still stuck outside and misses the call.
Liang Chen then draws a new number, 88, and Lu Jing, who holds the winning ticket, finally gets to join her on stage. He wishes her a happy birthday and expresses his excitement. During the Q&A, a fan's voice sounds strikingly familiar to Liang Chen. When asked about her favorite streamer, she names "Herman" from the game "Beautiful Soul."
Before she can investigate the familiar voice, the event is interrupted by the surprise appearance of her close friend, Ding Jia Yun. He wishes her a happy birthday and reveals that he often plays the game with her. Feeling dejected and jealous, Lu Jing abruptly leaves. Later that night, Lu Jing mistakenly sends Liang Chen an online message as his gamer persona, wishing her a happy birthday, but quickly retracts it.
This causes Liang Chen to worry her identity as "Noob" has been discovered. While Lu Jing sulks in a cybercafe, Liang Chen attends a birthday dinner with Ding Jia Yun. Afterward, she messages Lu Jing (as Noob) that she's busy. Later, she asks if he's free to play, casually mentioning she might team up with her boss, Ding Jia Yun, a skilled player.
Seeing this, Lu Jing becomes furious, declares he won't play with her anymore, and logs off, leaving Liang Chen to realize she has upset him. Still dejected at a subsequent award ceremony, Lu Jing remains withdrawn. Meanwhile, Liang Chen, wanting to apologize, asks her friend Ke Ke for advice on a unique in-game gift. During their conversation, Liang Chen admits she's been playing with "Herman," and Ke Ke reveals that Herman is Lu Jing.
Ke Ke suggests a newly released, rare backpack. While Liang Chen struggles to obtain it, Lu Jing complains to Zhou Zhou about "Noob" playing with another man, with Zhou Zhou pointing out his obvious jealousy. Wanting to reconcile, Lu Jing messages Liang Chen that he has a gift for her. They meet in-game, and Lu Jing presents her with a rare piece of equipment, admitting he bought it.
Just then, Ding Jia Yun arrives at Liang Chen's apartment to retrieve a coat. Lu Jing overhears Jia Yun's voice on the chat mentioning the coat. Mistakenly believing Liang Chen is with another man, Lu Jing becomes enraged and abruptly disconnects. Liang Chen is left confused by his sudden departure, while Zhou Zhou teases the furious Lu Jing that he should just forgive his "distinguished guest."
