Cui Yanzhi meticulously planned her ambush outside the Garrison Headquarters. She knew Ding Yunqi had falsely claimed he would visit Commander Hu the next day, a ploy to prevent his allies from getting involved. Understanding Ding Yunqi's resolute nature, Cui Yanzhi recognized that he could not be dissuaded from his mission, nor would he wish to endanger others.

Yet, as a member of the Penta-sect, she felt bound by the instructions of Heaven Official Ding Yuanshan, a duty to be fulfilled at all costs. She commanded her brothers to ensure Ding Yunqi's safety at all costs. Should they fail, they were to take as many enemies with them as possible, and she vowed to repay their sacrifice in the next life. Elsewhere, Zhou Qiuhai and Sun Sanxuan also arrived with their respective factions, ready to intervene.

Zhou Qiuhai asked Sun Sanxuan if he came alone, to which Sun Sanxuan replied that all who could come were present. Sun Sanxuan stated his loyalty to Ding Yunqi, promising to protect him as long as possible, and to die with him if necessary, to provide an explanation to Master Ding. Zhou Qiuhai, meanwhile, calmly ordered two bowls of wontons, while his own men waited.

Inside the headquarters, Commander Hu had Luo Yunsong and the others lined up for execution, demanding the dragon bone. Luo Yunsong defiantly refused, asserting that handing over the dragon bone would truly seal their fate. As Commander Hu's soldiers prepared to fire, a report came that Ding Yunqi had arrived.

Commander Hu was about to proceed with the execution, but Luo Yunsong quickly warned him that Ding Yunqi had already met with Her Ladyship through Chu Fengling, and Her Ladyship was the true party interested in the Kunlun Mountains. Executing them, Luo Yunsong stressed, would be tantamount to declaring war on Her Ladyship.

He further cautioned that Ding Yunqi, as the Penta-sect Heaven Official, commanded thousands of brothers scattered across the martial arts world, and harming him would only bring immense trouble. Commander Hu, visibly rattled, suspended the execution to meet Ding Yunqi. Ding Yunqi, upon meeting Commander Hu, immediately inquired about the fate of his friends. Commander Hu, who had been searching for Ding Yunqi, expressed his surprise at Ding Yunqi's sudden appearance.

Ding Yunqi challenged Commander Hu, noting that Her Ladyship had initially tasked Chu Fengling with matters concerning the Kunlun Mountains, implying that Commander Hu was now overstepping his bounds. Ding Yunqi firmly stated that the opening of the Kunlun Mountains was solely the prerogative of the Ding family, a right neither Her Ladyship nor the government could infringe upon. He highlighted that Her Ladyship, despite her power, had refrained from violence, making Commander Hu's forceful tactics appear excessive.

Ding Yunqi then clarified his purpose was to rescue his friends. He offered Commander Hu an opportunity to earn his gratitude by releasing them. However, he warned that if his friends were killed, Commander Hu would also face death, threatened not only by the thousands of Penta-sect members but also by all those who coveted the Kunlun Mountains' treasures. Commander Hu, acknowledging Ding Yunqi's unwavering stance, initially agreed to release only Wu Shuang.

Ding Yunqi, however, insisted that everyone be released. Commander Hu questioned why Ding Yunqi would save Luo Yunsong, his family's enemy, but Ding Yunqi explained he wanted to spare his friend the lifelong pain of Luo Yunsong's death. He then reiterated that anything related to the Kunlun Mountains was the Ding family's concern.

During their tense exchange, Commander Hu attempted to glean information about the Kunlun Mountains, but Ding Yunqi playfully evaded his questions, claiming knowledge only when in a good mood. Commander Hu conceded that he was merely fulfilling a request but admitted the "play" of execution couldn't continue. Just then, Her Ladyship's adjutant, Lieutenant Li, arrived. Ding Yunqi revealed that he had informed Her Ladyship, who had returned to Shanghai the previous night, much to Commander Hu's chagrin.

Lieutenant Li, acting on behalf of a furious Her Ladyship, reprimanded Commander Hu, leaving him no choice but to comply. The five prisoners were brought out. Chu Fengling, upon release, slapped Commander Hu across the face, avenging Luo Jiutian's death, though Commander Hu claimed Luo Jiutian was a drug dealer who deserved his fate. Luo Yunsong demanded Luo Jiutian's body, and Commander Hu promised to show him the burial site.

Lieutenant Li informed Chu Fengling that Ding Yunqi was behind their rescue, an act for which Chu Fengling expressed profound gratitude to Ding Yunqi. Chu Fengling then apologized to Wu Shuang for involving her in the ordeal and promised to return the dragon bone. As Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang walked out of the Garrison Headquarters unharmed, the Penta-sect members, including Zhou Qiuhai and Sun Sanxuan, breathed a sigh of relief.

Ding Yunqi told Wu Shuang that many people, including her master and Sun Sanxuan, were waiting outside, prepared to storm the compound to rescue her. Wu Shuang was touched to hear her master had come. Zhou Qiuhai, after confirming Wu Shuang's safety, paid for his wontons and quietly departed without greeting her, leaving Wu Shuang somewhat disappointed. Cui Yanzhi, after ordering Cui Yi to take their brothers for a celebratory drink, went to speak with Commander Hu.

Meanwhile, Xue Dingfeng reported to Commander Hu that the tomb had been successfully opened and contained numerous valuable items. Cui Yanzhi was present, but Commander Hu dismissed any need for secrecy by calling her "family." Ecstatic, he gloated about his impending wealth, confident that this success would placate Her Ladyship. He vowed to secure the treasures, then settle accounts with Her Ladyship and Luo Yunsong, and finally, deal with Ding Yunqi.

Back at the Bell Tower, Luo Yunsong personally delivered the dragon bone to Wu Shuang and Ding Yunqi. He acknowledged that their past debts were settled and thanked Ding Yunqi for saving his life, but he firmly stated that his family's feud with Ding Yuanshan remained unresolved. Wu Shuang, overjoyed to finally hold the dragon bone, shed tears, recalling the terror she felt when Luo Jiutian was killed, but she expressed no regret for risking her life to retrieve it.

She then asked Ding Yunqi about their arranged marriage, hoping their shared ordeal and the return of the dragon bone would seal their union. However, Ding Yunqi once again refused, explaining his opposition to old-fashioned marriages and his reluctance to become a Heaven Official within the Penta-sect. He desired a simple, happy life with her and stated he had no immediate plans for marriage.

Wu Shuang, an orphan who longed for a home of her own, was deeply hurt by his firm rejection. Heartbroken, she left the Bell Tower with the dragon bone and returned to Zhou Qiuhai. Zhou Qiuhai, who had anticipated her return, had prepared a welcoming feast with all her fellow sect members. He reassured her that a home provides shelter and support in times of trouble.

Wu Shuang apologized for causing them trouble, and Zhou Qiuhai expressed his pride in how his disciples bravely rallied to her aid. Later, Luo Yunsong was guided by Commander Hu's adjutant to Luo Jiutian's burial site. Surrounded by a desolate landscape, the adjutant mockingly referred to it as a "feng shui treasure land" where Luo Jiutian would have "lonely ghosts" for company. Luo Yunsong retrieved a stick left behind by his brother.

At Luo Jiutian's grave, Luo Yunsong solemnly swore to his deceased brother that he would send all those responsible for his death to join him, and then he, too, would follow.
