> Legend of Yun Xi Recap

Baili Mingxiang, consumed by a twisted devotion, believed her years of suffering to cultivate "Beauty Blood" for Long Feiye were in vain after the Poison Tribe leader implied it was useless or would take an extremely long time. The Poison Tribe leader revealed that the only true antidote for Long Feiye's gu poison was the heart blood of the Poison Tribe lineage, and worried Han Yunxi might sacrifice herself.

Misunderstanding, Baili Mingxiang concluded that if the Poison Tribe leader died, only Han Yunxi's blood could save Long Feiye, forcing a difficult choice upon her. In a desperate act, Baili Mingxiang stabbed the Poison Tribe leader, claiming to eliminate Han Yunxi's dilemma and to avenge Long Feiye's clan, as she believed the Poison Tribe leader was responsible for their suffering. Long Feiye arrived moments later, witnessing the aftermath.

He confronted Baili Mingxiang, stating that his revenge was his own affair and ordering her to leave. Baili Mingxiang protested, insisting her actions were for him, but Long Feiye dismissed her, emphasizing that his guilt did not justify her extreme behavior. Just then, Han Yunxi rushed in, seeing Long Feiye standing over her deceased father, the Poison Tribe leader. Overwhelmed with grief and misinterpreting the scene, she collapsed, accusing Long Feiye of betraying his promise and killing her father.

Meanwhile, Jun Yizheng held Gu Qishao captive. When Zhuyu attempted to offer Gu Qishao water, Jun Yizheng brutally kicked her, shocking Zhuyu into realizing her master's true cruelty. Gu Qishao, however, told Zhuyu not to blame herself and urged her to return to Beili for her safety. Later, Han Yunxi and Gu Beiyue solemnly buried the Poison Tribe leader. Han Yunxi knelt by his grave, weeping, lamenting their brief reunion and expressing her deep sorrow over his loss.

Gu Beiyue promised to remain by her side and protect her. Back at Prince Qin's Mansion, Baili Mingxiang was overcome with guilt, drinking heavily as nightmares of the murder plagued her. Ning Jing and Tang Li found her distraught, and she confessed to killing the Poison Tribe leader. Tang Li, initially incredulous, soon grasped the horrifying truth.

He grabbed her arm in a panic, crying out that with the Poison Tribe leader's death, the antidote for Long Feiye's gu poison was lost, putting his life at risk. Baili Mingxiang, in turn, lashed out, accusing them of only caring about Han Yunxi's suffering and neglecting her own pain and fear. She declared herself "conscienceless" and, feeling unwanted, stormed out of the mansion. Tang Li and Ning Jing were left reeling, grappling with the profound implications of her confession.

Yuze, now recovered from her poisoning thanks to the Poison Tribe leader, awoke and with Gu Qishao's instruction, helped Zhuyu escape while he remained behind. Gu Qishao explained he needed to return to Beili to retrieve his mother's ashes before he could truly leave the royal palace. Yuze expressed concern, but he assured her he would be fine. Long Feiye returned to the Prince Qin's Mansion, where Tang Li immediately questioned him about the Poison Tribe leader's death.

Long Feiye admitted to it, even after Tang Li revealed Baili Mingxiang's confession. Long Feiye stated his decision to take the blame was to prevent Baili Mingxiang from being further entangled, acknowledging her misguided devotion and his own indirect responsibility for her actions. He strictly ordered Tang Li and Ning Jing to keep Baili Mingxiang's involvement a secret, regardless of the personal cost to him or the fate of the gu poison antidote.

Concurrently, a furious Jun Yizheng, enraged by Zhuyu's escape, punished the captive Gu Qishao by setting fire to Herb-Ghost Valley, Gu Qishao's home and life's work. Later, Chu Qingge openly mocked Gu Qishao, highlighting his low status. News of Herb-Ghost Valley's destruction reached Long Feiye. He recognized Jun Yizheng's move as an attempt to cut off Gu Qishao's retreat.

Understanding Gu Qishao's strained relationship with the Beili Emperor and Crown Prince, stemming from his lowborn mother and difficult upbringing, Long Feiye dispatched Xifeng to Beili to secretly investigate Gu Qishao. He believed Gu Qishao held the key to disrupting any potential alliance between Xiqiu and Beili. Baili Mingxiang, having escaped from General Baili during their journey home, found herself alone on the road. She was ambushed by bandits intent on robbery and assault.

She fiercely resisted, invoking the names of her father, General Baili, and her cousin, Prince Qin, but the bandit leader scoffed at her threats. Fortuitously, Eunuch Li passed by and intervened, rescuing Baili Mingxiang. He offered to escort her to safety and, learning she had nowhere to go, offered his old house as a temporary refuge, which she accepted. After they departed, the bandit leader emerged from hiding and retrieved an item Baili Mingxiang had dropped during the struggle.

General Baili quickly sought out Prince Qin to report Baili Mingxiang's disappearance and to apologize for her reckless actions, blaming himself for not curbing her dangerous obsession with Long Feiye sooner. Long Feiye, while concerned for her health and agreeing she should not remain in the capital, saw her act of killing the Poison Tribe leader as an understandable, albeit misguided, act of revenge on his behalf.

General Baili expressed fear that Baili Mingxiang might harm herself and implored Long Feiye to help find her, which Long Feiye promised to do. General Baili also indicated his urgent need to return to the border to avoid Emperor Tianhui's suspicions. Meanwhile, Eunuch Li reported to Emperor Tianhui that he had rescued Baili Mingxiang from bandits. He mentioned her apparent escape and confirmed she was now safely housed in his private residence.

Emperor Tianhui, recognizing her status as General Baili's daughter, deemed her potentially "useful" and instructed Eunuch Li to ensure her well-being while keeping her presence a strict secret. Soon after, urgent news reached Emperor Tianhui: a sudden and devastating plague had erupted in the sixteen provinces of the south, claiming hundreds of lives. He immediately convened his ministers for an emergency meeting.

At the same time, Jun Yizheng was observed in a desolate, corpse-strewn area of the southern provinces, calmly drinking water, completely indifferent to the widespread death surrounding him. During the imperial court meeting, Long Feiye was chosen by Emperor Tianhui to lead the disaster relief efforts in the plague-stricken south, praised for his royal status, extensive experience, and proven leadership.

Long Feiye accepted the assignment, vowing to fulfill his duty, and Emperor Tianhui appointed Mu Qingwu and imperial doctors to accompany him. At Prince Qin's Mansion, Long Feiye discussed the plague's strategic impact on his main rebel forces in the south, fearing it might eventually affect healthier individuals. His aide suspected Emperor Tianhui was using the disaster to test Long Feiye's connections with the southern region.

Tang Li vehemently opposed Long Feiye's departure, fearing that any harm to him would jeopardize their years of rebellion planning. Long Feiye, however, explained that their fight against Emperor Tianhui's tyrannical rule was not solely for revenge but to liberate the suffering common people. He emphasized the critical nature of the plague, stating they could not ignore the crisis that threatened countless lives. Tang Li, still distressed, confessed his inability to take Long Feiye's place if something were to happen.

Desperate, Tang Li visited Han Yunxi, urging her to accompany Long Feiye to the south, believing her detoxification expertise would be invaluable. Han Yunxi, recalling her experience with infectious diseases, readily agreed. However, Gu Beiyue quickly intervened, cautioning her. He pointed out that despite her skill with poisons, her general medical knowledge was less developed, and a plague was an infectious disease, not a poison.

He argued that her assistance would be minimal given the many imperial doctors already dispatched, and she risked infection. Furthermore, he subtly suggested that her complicated relationship with Long Feiye made her presence inappropriate.
