Su Tang became concerned about Mo Lin's allergic hands, which were injured while making osmanthus sugar for her. She knew he had confessed his feelings for her, and despite feeling confused, she felt compelled to check on him. However, she got lost in the Wuyou Valley, once again, and found herself near the Forbidden House, where Master Mo Buliu practiced austerities. Mo Lin, upon learning of Su Tang's perilous situation, was distraught.

He knew his father, Master Mo Buliu, detested outsiders in the valley and would be furious if his cultivation was disturbed. Nevertheless, Mo Lin decided to interfere with his father’s practice, armed with potent chili and saltpeter powder, to save Su Tang. When he arrived, he found Su Tang already assisting a weakened Mo Buliu out of the Forbidden House, his Force of Temperature having been severely disrupted.

Mo Buliu immediately chastised Mo Lin for returning and abandoning his assassin ambitions. Su Tang, introducing herself as Mo Lin’s master, defended him, while Mo Lin proudly boasted about his new friends, including Lu Ping, a six-force master, and Yan Xifan, the Young Master of Wuji Manor. Upon hearing about Lu Ping's Soul Confinement, Mo Buliu shockingly recognized the name "Ping'er."

He revealed that he was the one who placed the Soul Confinement on Lu Ping years ago when he rescued him as a child. Though uncertain if he could undo it, Mo Buliu agreed to try, especially after Su Tang's compassion led her to save his beloved parrot, Little Mo, from the chili fumes.

Overjoyed, Su Tang quickly agreed to Mo Lin’s request that she would only feed him sugar from that day forward, before preparing to depart immediately to find Lu Ping. Meanwhile, Lu Ping and Yan Xifan had reached Wuji Manor. Yan Qiuci, Yan Xifan's father, expressed his pleasure at their arrival, especially since Lu Ping was well-versed in the Shanhai Gang's workings. After a warm family banquet, Lu Ping sought a private audience with Yan Qiuci.

He inquired about the cryptic message Liu Song left at Big Dipper and the torn final pages of his master Guo Youdao’s account book, suspecting deeper secrets from the Event of Seven Star. Yan Qiuci recalled Guo Youdao’s self-reproach for misjudging someone, suggesting Guo Youdao had likely discovered Liu Song's true identity back then, which led him to retrieve Lu Ping from the Shanhai Gang.

Yan Qiuci gently advised Lu Ping to cherish the present, reminding him that his parents sacrificed their lives for him, and his current brotherhood with Yan Xifan and return to Big Dipper were destined. Lu Ping confessed his guilt for not being able to show filial piety and his envy of Yan Xifan having a father.

Yan Qiuci, moved, offered Lu Ping to consider Wuji Manor his home and himself as a father figure, promising to help avenge his parents’ deaths. That evening, Ling Ziyan brought tea for Yan Xifan, who tenderly told her they were equals, not servant and master, promising to take her to explore the world after resolving the Shanhai Gang crisis.

The next morning, an imperial eunuch arrived at Wuji Manor with an edict from Emperor Zhai Rong, bestowing the title of Princess Xining upon Qin Sang and decreeing her marriage to Yan Xifan. Yan Xifan promptly refused to accept, much to the eunuch’s outrage. Unaware of Princess Xining's identity, Lu Ping initially found the situation amusing. However, Ling Ziyan’s revelation that the bride was Qin Sang ignited a furious reaction from him. He immediately confronted the gathering.

Yan Qiuci tried to reason with the eunuch, pointing out that the Emperor was aware of Lu Ping and Qin Sang's affection and that forcing this marriage would put the Yan family in an impossible position of being disloyal to friends or the crown. The eunuch relayed the Emperor's stern message: as the martial arts alliance leader, Yan Qiuci should prioritize the fight against the burgeoning Shanhai Gang, as personal feelings were secondary during times of national peril.

Just then, Lu Ping, believing the Emperor was retaliating for his past defiance in E'zhou, dramatically destroyed the imperial edict and staged a public brawl with Yan Xifan as a distraction. He then declared his intention to find Qin Sang and demand answers. Yan Qiuci, after placating the eunuch and arranging for his temporary stay at Wuji Manor, addressed Yan Xifan.

While he understood and even condoned his son's defiance and Lu Ping's impulsive act, he cautioned Yan Xifan against giving the authorities any leverage, reminding him that the Wuji Manor could not indefinitely defy imperial power. Yan Qiuci suspected the Emperor’s true motive was to use the marriage to lure out Liu Song, who likely held the Thousand Pine Ruler but couldn't access the military seal within it without Lyu Chenfeng's expertise.

Yan Qiuci instructed his subordinate, A Ze, to circulate news that Lyu Chenfeng had returned from his travels and was currently a guest at Wuji Manor, hoping to preemptively seize the Thousand Pine Ruler. Meanwhile, Qin Sang, adorned in a vibrant red wedding gown, was en route to Wuji Manor. She clutched the sword Lu Ping had once given her, recalling his words about the Bodhi fruit symbolizing safety.

Her outward appearance belied her true intentions; this was not a marriage of love but a strategic mission for her family. Along the way, Lu Ping intercepted her bridal procession, bravely facing the Dragonie Army. Qin Sang's sword was already at his chest, but he stood firm, refusing to believe her claim that she willingly accepted the imperial marriage.

She insisted it was a great honor for the Qin family and necessary given her brother’s absence and the need for Wuji Manor’s support. Lu Ping, convinced she was hiding her true feelings, desperately pleaded with her, reminding her of their shared struggles and Yan Xifan’s affection for Ling Ziyan. Despite his pleas, Qin Sang, with a heavy heart, drugged him.

She then ordered Wen Rui and a detachment of the Dragonie Army to escort Lu Ping back to Big Dipper, forbidding his release until the Shanhai Gang was completely annihilated. Upon her arrival at Wuji Manor, Qin Sang presented a letter to Yan Qiuci, ostensibly from Emperor Zhai Rong, suggesting that Lyu Chenfeng be used as bait to draw out Liu Song.

Yan Qiuci informed her that Lyu Chenfeng was already secured in a secret location as a precaution, leaving Qin Sang unable to directly pursue her true mission: locating Lyu Chenfeng herself. She commanded her subordinates to establish a tight perimeter around Wuji Manor and diligently search for Lyu Chenfeng's hiding place.

Simultaneously, Ling Ziyan penned a heartfelt letter to Yan Xifan, professing her eternal devotion but expressing her unwillingness to see him embroiled in a political marriage, torn between friends, or marrying another. She proposed eloping at midnight to live a life free from constraints. Yan Xifan, reading her letter, felt hesitant as the Young Master of Wuji Manor, and contemplated being as brave as Lu Ping to fight for what he truly desired.

Later, Lu Ping awoke while being escorted by the Dragonie Army. Observing his guards, he smirked, realizing that Qin Sang still cared for him; otherwise, she would not have dispatched soldiers to protect him, despite her harsh words.
