Legend of Awakening Episode 32 Recap
> Legend of Awakening Recap
Yan Xifan discussed Ling Ziyan's situation with his father. He explained that Ling Ziyan had endured torture from Shanhai Gang while covering for him, and he felt pity for her difficult life, requesting that Wuji Manor provide her shelter. His father agreed to his plea. Yan Xifan then looked for Lu Ping, only to be told by someone that Lu Ping had already left. They found a letter from Lu Ping stating, "Things in the world are complicated.
I can't understand many of them. I don't know how to deal with. I am going to mourn for our master. Don't worry. I will come back." Just then, a senior told Yan Xifan that Ling Ziyan was seen looking distraught and heading towards the back mountain, suggesting Yan Xifan might have upset her. Ling Ziyan had been grappling with the Emperor's words, who previously told her that despite Yan Xifan's affection, their mismatched identities were a problem.
The Emperor had offered her a suitable identity and a guaranteed future with Yan Xifan if she reported on the Yan Family's activities. Yan Xifan quickly found Ling Ziyan and informed her that his father had agreed to let her come to Wuji Manor. Ling Ziyan, having no other place to go, expressed her desire to stay by his side, whether as a maid or a training partner.
Yan Xifan, relieved, told her to return with his father first to recover from her injuries. He then explained that he intended to go to Zhaifeng Institute to comfort Lu Ping, who had gone there alone to mourn, and also to pay respects to their master. Ling Ziyan agreed to his plan, and Yan Xifan helped her go back to rest. Meanwhile, Qin Sang was at home observing the funeral rites for her brother, Qin Qi.
General Wen Rui expressed his doubts about leading the Victorious Dragon Troop, feeling inadequate compared to the late General Qin Qi, despite the Emperor's decree. Qin Sang urged him to trust in her brother's judgment and, more importantly, in himself, to which Wen Rui pledged his unwavering loyalty.
Emperor Shuo Zhai Rong arrived to pay his respects, reminiscing about Qin Qi's solemn vow of lifelong loyalty to Shuo, made with the very sword Qin Sang now held, after their parents' passing. The Emperor lamented the loss of such a fine general and posthumously conferred the title of General Longxiang upon Qin Qi, hoping the Victorious Dragon Troop would carry on his legacy.
Qin Sang, holding her brother's cherished sword, acknowledged her own shortcomings compared to him but asserted her unwavering loyalty to the Emperor. She found solace in the Emperor's presence, believing her brother could now rest in peace. The Emperor advised her to focus on the funeral for now, deferring other matters.
In her grief, Qin Sang recalled her brother's gentle care—his promise to repair her sword, her playful teasing, his stern warnings against recklessness, and his deep wish for her happiness and well-being. She understood the immense burden he had carried for years, and with a heavy heart, accepted that it was now her turn to shoulder that responsibility. Back at Zhaifeng Institute, Lu Ping assisted Jin Ruyu with cleaning.
While wiping a handrail, he stumbled upon a hidden account book belonging to Guo Youdao. Reading through it, Lu Ping uncovered various past misadventures, including Guo Youdao's thefts and debts, and mentions of "Minmin" and a "No.1 prostitute." Jin Ruyu, curious, inquired about these figures and lamented the old debts Guo Youdao owed her. Lu Ping continued to read, and a shocking entry revealed that Guo Youdao had discovered a royal document stating "Song" was a prince of Dan.
The entry also spoke of Zhai Rong destroying his country and sect, and a vow for revenge. Lu Ping realized his master had known Liu Song's true identity. This revelation, coupled with Guo Youdao's enigmatic dying words about not being a good teacher and knowing some truths he dared not delve into, left Lu Ping deeply perplexed about what his master had hidden from him. Shortly after, Yan Xifan arrived, having rerouted his journey out of concern for Lu Ping.
Lu Ping showed him Guo Youdao's account book. Noticing an entry about Guo Youdao visiting his "second brother" at Wuji Manor, Yan Xifan inferred that their late master and his own father, Yan Qiuci, were from the same sect and might have shared confidences. He proposed that they return to Wuji Manor to seek answers from his father or leverage the manor's resources to further investigate Shanhai Gang.
Lu Ping, recognizing the opportunity, readily agreed to Yan Xifan's offer of assistance and accommodation. Within Shanhai Gang's confines, Chu Min regained consciousness, finding herself shackled. She deduced that she was being held captive to be manipulated by Liu Song. Yan Jin appeared, coldly asserting that Liu Song's suffering, inflicted by the so-called righteous factions, far surpassed any pain Chu Min now felt.
Fearing that Liu Song's emotions might lead him to mercy, Yan Jin intended to kill Chu Min to remove any potential weakness. However, Liu Song intervened, declaring that sentiment was indeed a weakness, and Chu Min was merely a pawn to be utilized. He revealed that Leng Xiutan had tasked Lyu Chenfeng with sealing the military seal within the Thousand Pine Ruler to contain Liu Song's power, and only Lyu Chenfeng possessed the key to unlock it.
Despite suggestions that Lyu Chenfeng might be dead, Liu Song disclosed that during his recent visit to Beidou, he had observed Lyu Chenfeng's "star of destiny" still shining brightly, confirming he was alive. Liu Song explained that a hostage was necessary to manipulate the members of Big Dipper and emphasized that personal feelings must be sacrificed for the greater cause of nation and lineage.
He then entrusted Yan Jin with the critical mission of finding Lyu Chenfeng, vowing to personally reclaim every inch of Dan's territory seized by Zhai Rong. Yan Jin, now understanding Liu Song's strategic depth, apologized for his earlier misjudgment and offered to silence Chu Min, but Liu Song dismissed the idea, stating she had nowhere to go.
Chu Min, confused by Yan Jin's hints about Liu Song being framed, pressed for answers, but Liu Song only promised she would understand the truth once the Thousand Pine Ruler was opened. At the Victorious Dragon Troop's camp, Qin Sang asserted her responsibility to uphold her brother's legacy by personally addressing the disheartened soldiers.
She sternly reminded them of their duty as soldiers of Shuo, emphasizing that their primary loyalty was to the nation and its people, not to despair over the loss of one person. Her impassioned words successfully rekindled their morale, as they pledged to uphold the troop's honor. Soon after, a subordinate delivered an imperial edict, bestowing upon Qin Sang the title of Princess Xining and summoning her to the palace for an audience.
Puzzled by this unexpected honor, Qin Sang complied. In the palace, she expressed her unworthiness of the title, but the Emperor, Zhai Rong, revealed his true intentions. After confirming her awareness of the Thousand Pine Ruler situation and her efforts to bolster the Victorious Dragon Troop, he declared that to prevent impending warfare, he intended to arrange a marriage.
He then formally announced the betrothal of Princess Xining, Qin Sang, to Yan Xifan, the young master of Wuji Manor, a celebrated hero who was also granted ten thousand gold. Shocked, Qin Sang questioned the decision. The Emperor explained that the military seal of the Liu family, essential for Liu Song, was sealed within the Thousand Pine Ruler by Lyu Chenfeng, one of the Seven of Big Dipper, and only Lyu Chenfeng could unlock it.
Since Yan Qiuci, master of Wuji Manor, was also one of the Seven and likely possessed vital clues, the Emperor needed Wuji Manor to serve the imperial court. He planned to use the wedding procession as a pretext for the Victorious Dragon Troop to accompany Qin Sang to Wuji Manor, where she would gather information on Lyu Chenfeng.
Lyu Chenfeng would then be used as bait to trap and eliminate Liu Song, after which the Yan Family and Big Dipper Institute, in conjunction with other martial arts sects, would destroy Shanhai Gang. The Emperor stressed that Qin Sang's unique identity and experience made her the most suitable candidate for this intricate scheme.
Qin Sang objected, citing her prior engagement to Lu Ping and the deep bond between Lu Ping and Yan Xifan, fearing that such a marriage would alienate the very brothers the Emperor wished to recruit. Zhai Rong dismissed Lu Ping as a "freak" from the martial arts world and reminded Qin Sang of her duty to the nation as a daughter of the Qin family, warning her not to let personal affections jeopardize crucial state affairs.
Faced with the Emperor's unwavering resolve and the gravity of the situation—the fresh memory of her brother's sacrifice and the singular opportunity to eliminate Shanhai Gang—Qin Sang conceded. However, she made a final request: that the wedding be a grand and elaborate affair, elaborate enough to deceive everyone, including Lu Ping, thereby effectively luring Liu Song into their trap. The Emperor granted her request.
Simultaneously, Su Tang was driving a carriage, attempting to reach Wuyou Valley with an increasingly unwell Mo Lin. As they neared the valley entrance, the horse halted, and Su Tang discovered Mo Lin's injuries had worsened to the point where he couldn't guide her. Determined to get him help, she decided to force her way into the valley, despite an unseen warning that it was dangerous. She soon collapsed, realizing the mist permeating the entrance was poisonous.
Just in time, a weakened Mo Lin, worried for her safety, struggled to reach her and caught her before she hit the ground. Mo Chuangu, the First Disciple of Wuyou Valley, along with other disciples, emerged and confronted Mo Lin, questioning why he was saving an outsider who claimed to be his master and had intruded. Mo Lin defiantly declared Su Tang his "wife" and commanded Mo Chuangu to administer the antidote and provide her with the best available medicine.
He also instructed them to conceal his return from his father, the Valley Master, before personally carrying Su Tang further into the valley, insisting he would care for his own wife. Mo Lin brought Su Tang into Wuyou Valley, where she awoke to find Mo Chuangu caring for her under Mo Lin's instructions. Though initially focused on her brother, her hunger prompted her to accept a meal.
However, her appetite vanished when she learned Mo Lin had declared her the "young madam" of the valley to his people. Meanwhile, Mo Lin was passionately preparing an elaborate tonic for her, generously adding rare medicinal ingredients despite Mo Chuangu's warnings about the Valley Master's displeasure.
Mo Lin justified his actions by saying he was nourishing his "too thin" wife and joked that Su Tang was merely "shy" and "infatuated" with him, destined to become obedient once accustomed to the valley. Su Tang, having overheard his boasting, confronted him. Mo Lin, flustered, tried to brush it off as mere "boasting" and offered her Osmanthus sugar he had made, infused with potent herbs.
Su Tang, exasperated, retorted that since he had enough energy for such nonsense, he must be recovered, and she intended to leave to find her brother. Mo Lin, desperate, physically restrained her, declaring he would "bully his teacher" for once and questioning her inability to understand his feelings. Su Tang challenged him, asking how he truly regarded her, as she considered him a brother from Zhaifeng.
Mo Lin then passionately confessed that while he would face any danger for Lu Ping and Yan Xifan, he would rather be harmed himself than see her in peril. He admitted to loving her since they met at Zhaifeng, explaining that his constant presence by her side was proof of his affection. When Su Tang questioned his previous silence, Mo Lin attributed it to repeated unfortunate timing.
He then offered her a home in Wuyou Valley, promising that everything he had was hers. As Su Tang struggled to process his confession, Mo Chuangu unwisely suggested using drugs to force their relationship. Enraged, Su Tang revealed she was immune to their anesthetic and fled. Mo Lin, furious at Mo Chuangu for his ill-timed interjection and discovering his hand was breaking out in a rash from Osmanthus pollen, immediately ordered his disciples to pursue her.
Lost in an Osmanthus forest, Su Tang overheard other disciples discussing how Mo Lin, despite his severe allergy to Osmanthus pollen, had recently ordered the planting of the very forest she was in and had even picked blossoms himself. The realization that Mo Lin's allergic rash was a direct result of making Osmanthus sugar for her, combined with his heartfelt confession, deeply moved her.
Deciding to return to him, she found herself once again lost within the confusing terrain of the valley. Spotting a bird, she hoped it might lead her to a path out.
