In the Name of Blossom Episode 24 (Ending) Recap
> In the Name of Blossom Recap
Prince Ning had become a prisoner, and Liu Chang naturally became the target of public condemnation. In front of the emperor, Liu Chang, in order to escape a death sentence, first presented and confirmed numerous crimes committed by Prince Ning. The emperor ordered Prince Ning to be executed immediately and, in light of Liu Chang’s cooperation, spared him from death. Instead, Liu Chang was sentenced to exile and stripped of his status as a commoner.
Liu Chang accepted the punishment but earnestly pleaded with the emperor to show mercy and spare Li Youzhen. Late at night, Li Youzhen stood beside Liu Chang holding a dagger, torn and hesitant. Back then, Liu Chang and Prince Ning had been birds of a feather, and she never expected Liu Chang would ultimately betray her father. She was caught in a painful dilemma. Liu Chang was not asleep—he coldly asked Li Youzhen why she hadn’t made her move.
Li Youzhen wept bitterly. Liu Chang had once served alongside her father; why had he turned on him in the end? Liu Chang gave a bitter smile. From the moment he joined Prince Ning, he knew such a day would come. First, he fell in love with Li Youzhen, then lost a leg. Later, in order to survive, he humbled himself and served under Prince Ning, committing countless misdeeds and living each day in fear.
He had long become a walking corpse. Li Youzhen could no longer hold back her sobs and finally threw away the dagger. On the streets of Chang’an, the people had begun living peaceful and stable lives again. Liu Chang and Li Youzhen walked under the sunlight. Seeing the joyous celebrations throughout the land put Liu Chang in high spirits. He took Li Youzhen’s hand, saying he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her in peace and happiness.
Seeing the warm smile on Liu Chang’s face, Li Youzhen felt as if she were being reborn. She truly believed they could start over. But just then, a small beggar suddenly rushed up to Liu Chang and stabbed him. The beggar was clearly prepared in advance, acting wild and deranged, shouting loudly, “The villain is dead! Now the world can finally be at peace!” Li Youzhen saw Liu Chang bleeding from the chest.
The dagger had pierced straight into his heart—there was no hope of survival. Tears streamed down her face. In his final moments, Liu Chang finally learned to cherish life. With guilt in his voice, he urged Li Youzhen not to grieve and to live well. After Liu Chang’s death, Li Youzhen was left with no more hope. In a daze, she wandered alone until she came to a place of trees and water in the East.
She untied the sash around her waist, preparing to hang herself. At that moment, a passing nun happened to see her about to take her own life and persuaded her to recite scriptures and atone for her sins. Moved by the nun’s words, Li Youzhen abandoned her thoughts of suicide and followed her to the temple. He Weifang and Jiang Zhangyang finally welcomed a peaceful and joyful chapter in their lives.
After finishing their duties, they decided to travel west and wander the land. They had long dreamed of a life immersed in nature, and now that dream had come true. In the garden of Fangyuan, their friends frequently tried to create opportunities for Jiang Zhangyang to propose, but the two were already deeply in love and had no need for others to help. When the time was right, Jiang Zhangyang and He Weifang truly left the capital.
He Weifang, as a merchant, continued running her pharmacy and helping the sick wherever she went, while Jiang Zhangyang, under the emperor’s command, quietly investigated whether local officials were honest and whether governance was clean. The couple worked together in perfect harmony. The emperor regularly received gifts from Jiang Zhangyang, along with reports on political situations in various regions. This form of communication and collaboration suited both sides well.
In their free time, Jiang Zhangyang would take He Weifang to the countryside to admire the flowers. The couple lived in harmony, cherishing every hard-earned moment. May good people have sweet dreams, and may those in love finally end up together.
