Guan Xiaodi's plan successfully leads to the capture of an assailant targeting Wang Rongyuan. The assailant confesses that Wang Rongyuan is a corrupt businessman responsible for his father's death, due to land dealings and collusion with thugs, and that his previous attempts at justice failed. Guan Xiaodi sympathizes with the assailant but fulfills her duty by taking him to the police station.
Meanwhile, Wang Rongyuan gets into a heated argument with Peng Lulu, who interrupts his video call with his daughter and curses her. Enraged, Wang Rongyuan slaps Peng Lulu, who then threatens to expose all his misdeeds online, including his forged identity, owing over 100 million to the bank, and his plan to escape, presenting fake passports and documents as proof. Guan Xiaodi, overhearing the dispute, later talks to Wang Rongyuan.
She shares her own story of being abandoned by her father, urging him to take responsibility for his daughter's sake. Overcome by guilt and concern for his daughter, Wang Rongyuan decides to surrender to the authorities. Separately, Liu Sha suspects Ju Liang of leaking Fierce Fire Shield's training plans to Rock Security. She confronts him, leading to a fight where Ju Liang is easily defeated. Wu Fei intervenes, sending Ju Liang away and fighting Liu Sha himself.
During the fight, Liu Sha, who unbeknownst to others suffers from congenital heart disease and aplastic anemia, has a heart attack. Qin Sheng promptly arrives, rushes her to the hospital, and saves her life. He stays by her side, becoming deeply worried upon learning about her severe conditions. Liu Sha, seeing his concern, no longer pushes him away.
Xiong Kuohai, Liang Dawei, and Guan Xiaodi visit Liu Sha at the hospital but see Qin Sheng holding her hand and being intimate with her, so they wait outside. Guan Xiaodi learns from Xiong Kuohai about Liu Sha and Qin Sheng's complicated past: Qin Sheng, a special forces soldier, caused the death of Liu Sha's parents during an operation against drug dealers by missing his first shot, which allowed the criminals to detonate a bomb.
Qin Sheng's guilt led him to frequently visit Liu Sha, and they fell in love. However, when he proposed, he confessed the truth, and Liu Sha, upon learning it, broke off their relationship.
