Hello, My Shining Lover Episode 5 Recap
> Hello, My Shining Lover Recap
Chen Fei'er agrees to help Du Guruonan train Si Da. Shortly after, she approaches Ji Mo, the CEO of Wing Fashion, with a request to include a male model in the upcoming new collection fashion show. She argues that women appreciate seeing handsome men and that incorporating a male model would make the show more exciting.
Ji Mo expresses concerns about disrupting the existing rehearsal schedule, but Chen Fei'er insists that only one male model is needed to stand beside her during her entrance, and she will personally handle his training. She playfully teases Ji Mo, suggesting his hesitation might be due to jealousy. Ji Mo eventually concedes, and Chen Fei'er gives him a kiss as a "reward."
Despite her strong aversion to Ji Mo, Du Guruonan is convinced by a friend that Si Da's best chance for quick fame is through this Wing Fashion opportunity. The next day, she brings Si Da to the company, cautioning him against embarrassing her, especially since she considers Ji Mo her rival. Upon their arrival, Du Guruonan apologizes to Ji Mo for their past conflicts, asserting that their personal issues should not impede their professional collaboration.
She then eloquently argues that Si Da's appearance perfectly aligns with the show's "savage and primitive" theme, making him an ideal model. Impressed by her thorough preparation and sincerity, Ji Mo agrees to give Si Da a chance. Meanwhile, Chen Fei'er instructs Si Da to change into leopard print shorts and go topless for an audition.
Si Da, extremely shy, asks Ji Mo to enter the changing room and reveals his physique only to him, leading Ji Mo to mistakenly believe Si Da is trying to seduce him. Du Guruonan intervenes, clarifying that Si Da's shyness led to the misunderstanding. Later, during the runway show, as Chen Fei'er touches Si Da, he experiences a severe panic attack, gasping for breath.
Ji Mo immediately diagnoses him with opposite-sex interaction disorder, a self-compulsive condition causing extreme nervousness and potential fainting when near the opposite sex. Ji Mo declares that Si Da is unsuitable for modeling and needs a psychologist, dismissing Du Guruonan's suggestion that he could work while receiving treatment. Realizing his condition has cost him the opportunity, Si Da becomes deeply self-reproachful, while Du Guruonan attempts to comfort him.
Still fighting for Si Da's opportunity, Du Guruonan relentlessly follows Ji Mo, even staging a public display of "unconditional love" for him at the company. She dramatically describes her sacrifices and humiliation for Ji Mo, eliciting sympathy from the employees. When the employees leave, Ji Mo confronts her, questioning her lack of self-respect. Du Guruonan explains that an agent's humility is crucial for their artist's success in such a competitive industry, emphasizing that Ji Mo is Si Da's only chance.
Maintaining his principles, Ji Mo attempts to leave the company to escape her persistent demands. As he exits, he is confronted by An'an, whom he previously saved on a rooftop. An'an expresses her fear of solitude and her intense desire for his protection, and Ji Mo later refers to his role for her as a "safe harbor." Ji Mo, however, diagnoses her feelings as pathological dependency stemming from past trauma and tries to distance himself, stating he is too busy.
Feeling cornered, Ji Mo covertly asks Du Guruonan for help. Seizing the leverage, Du Guruonan agrees to rescue him in exchange for an audition opportunity for Si Da. She then dramatically steps in, pretending to be Ji Mo's fiancée, claiming to have divorced her husband to be with him and that they are planning to marry. An'an is enraged, insulting Du Guruonan for being an "old woman."
Du Guruonan retaliates sharply, highlighting her own experience, capability, and value compared to An'an's youthful inexperience, likening herself to central business district property and An'an to a cheap suburban new development. Ji Mo supports her narrative, stating that Du Guruonan brings "excitement" to his life. They leave together, playing the role of a loving couple, much to An'an's distress.
Afterward, Ji Mo cautions Du Guruonan about An'an's unstable emotional state, advising her to avoid provoking An'an due to the unpredictable consequences. Du Guruonan dismisses his psychological explanation, attributing his behavior to typical male fickleness and implying he might be biased due to his own past emotional wounds. That night, An'an tracks Du Guruonan to her apartment, convinced Ji Mo is hiding there.
In a fit of jealous rage, An'an ransacks the apartment, inadvertently knocking over a candle and starting a fire before fleeing. Du Guruonan manages to call the fire department. After the fire is extinguished, Du Guruonan's apartment is completely destroyed. Ji Mo arrives at the scene, and an emotionally distraught Du Guruonan blames him, calling him a "jinx" and a "cursed loner."
Ji Mo admits his carelessness and offers to take her to the hospital, but she rejects his offer, telling him to handle the aftermath. Feeling utterly lost and without a home, Du Guruonan goes to a bar to drink alone. Si Da finds her, offers comfort, and notes that his opposite-sex interaction disorder does not manifest when he is with her, jokingly calling Ji Mo a "quack."
Despite her drunkenness, Du Guruonan continues to encourage Si Da, reaffirming her commitment to helping him succeed, to which he gratefully pledges his loyalty. Si Da then carries a very intoxicated Du Guruonan, who, disoriented, directs him to Ji Mo's apartment, mistakenly believing it to be her own. Si Da, worried about a male artist being seen entering a woman's home, leaves her at the entrance.
Later, Ji Mo, anxious about Du Guruonan and unable to reach her, sends her a text message. He then hears her phone buzz from his bedroom and discovers her passed out on his bed. Despite the surprise, he tries to make her comfortable. As he adjusts her pillow and blanket, Du Guruonan appears about to vomit. Ji Mo frantically searches for a trash can, but she attempts to bravely swallow the vomit, declaring her "good manners," before immediately throwing up.
