Hello, My Shining Lover Episode 1 Recap
> Hello, My Shining Lover Recaps
Ji Mo, a psychology graduate, was giving a lecture, explaining that one can discern a person's true thoughts through their expressions in just an instant. He cited a live interaction between an agent and a popular celebrity as a perfect example of his theory. Meanwhile, top agent Du Guruonan received news that her star, Song Zihao, had disappeared again, causing a film set to halt production.
She and her assistant, Tong Tong, immediately sped several kilometers, using GPS to track him down and force his van to stop. Du Guruonan found it absurd that Song Zihao, a celebrity she had personally groomed, publicly declared his desire for freedom, wanting both the perks of stardom and the rights of an ordinary person.
Song Zihao, however, firmly believed he was merely a money-making tool, utterly fed up with his current life, and refused to comply, leading to a heated exchange. When he expected her to explode in anger, Du Guruonan instead fell silent for a moment, then looked at him with tearful eyes, expressing her profound dedication. Her vulnerable act moved Song Zihao, who reluctantly agreed to return to the set.
As his van drove away, Du Guruonan instantly shed her pitiful demeanor, much to Tong Tong's astonishment. Du Guruonan confessed that the tears were just a trick to persuade him, as she lacked the strength to physically force him. She then instructed Tong Tong to rush to the set to supervise Song Zihao's filming, emphasizing the cost of delays. Concurrently, after his lecture, Ji Mo transformed into a dashing fashion designer, the head of his own brand, Wing Fashion.
At a fashion show, he radiated a cold, noble aura, becoming the center of attention. Surrounded by eager female models, Ji Mo remained aloof, reminding them that it was a crucial show for Wing Fashion and demanding their full concentration to avoid any mishaps. His assistant, Alan, praised the lead model, An'an, as he watched her on the monitor. However, Ji Mo, detecting microexpressions of tension in An'an, despite her smile, told Alan to keep a close eye on her.
An'an’s performance had brought the show to a climax, but soon after, news broke of her sudden disappearance. It turned out An'an's boyfriend, Wang Kun, suspected her of cheating and had taken her to the rooftop of Dachuang Park. A film crew below, preparing to shoot, learned of the suicide threat and considered postponing their work.
Du Guruonan refused to delay, rushing to the rooftop where she found Wang Kun holding An'an, a dagger in hand, both precariously close to the edge. When her initial pleas failed, Du Guruonan resorted to her usual tactic, claiming to be a fellow victim of a cheating spouse to gain Wang Kun's sympathy. She even feigned a similar past of being abandoned during pregnancy.
She then cunningly extracted Ji Mo's phone number from Wang Kun, demanding he rush to Dachuang Park immediately. Ji Mo, on the phone, heard the urgency and rushed over. He managed to rescue An'an from Wang Kun, but in the ensuing struggle, Ji Mo stumbled and fell from the rooftop. Fortunately, a safety airbag had been deployed, and Du Guruonan also avoided serious harm, landing squarely on Ji Mo's left hand.
As she was being loaded into an ambulance, Du Guruonan still managed to instruct Tong Tong to keep a constant watch on Song Zihao. Not long after, media outlets widely reported on Yuxing Entertainment, exposing Song Zihao's alleged exploitation and abuse by his agent. Yuxing Entertainment had intended to collaborate with Wing Fashion, but Ji Mo, while viewing a house to rent, discovered the landlord was Du Guruonan herself.
Du Guruonan, unaware she was speaking to him, openly criticized Wing Fashion's boss, Ji Mo, over the phone. After hanging up, they recognized each other, confirming their adversarial connection. Due to the negative media attention, Du Guruonan had been receiving anonymous harassment.
Initially, she was hesitant to rent her apartment to Ji Mo, but realizing she could offload this "trouble" onto him, she eventually agreed to the rental contract, stipulating that he could not casually terminate the lease, and she would not be responsible for any unforeseen circumstances. Ji Mo was determined to secure the house, which held a mysterious significance for him.
As Ji Mo moved in and began renovations based on his detailed designs, which surprised Alan with their accuracy given Ji Mo had never lived there before, he uncovered anonymous threatening objects and cards. He immediately confronted Du Guruonan, accusing her of knowing about the problem and deliberately concealing it. Du Guruonan dismissed his concerns, advising him to call the police himself. Undeterred, Alan called the police, leading to an official investigation.
Du Guruonan attempted to feign ignorance and fear, but Ji Mo, using his expertise in microexpressions, exposed her lies. Despite his logical breakdown of her feigned emotions, Du Guruonan dramatically burst into tears. After she left the police station, her demeanor changed abruptly, and she declared the rental contract terminated, demanding Ji Mo move out.
Their heated argument continued, with Ji Mo asserting the fault was hers, and Du Guruonan claiming ownership of the apartment gave her the ultimate right to decide. One night, Ji Mo sleepwalked, muttering "Su Xiao" and apologizing, ending up outside Du Guruonan's door. Du Guruonan misinterpreted his sleep-talking as a declaration of love, concluding he had fallen for her. The next morning, suppressing her delight, she calmly confronted Ji Mo, warning him against any "improper thoughts."
Ji Mo retorted, calling her delusional, which infuriated her. She promptly called her employees to help her move out of the apartment. Du Guruonan arrived to find her belongings already moved out of the apartment. She confronted Ji Mo, who calmly stated he had transferred the rent and an extra month's penalty to her account, thus voiding the contract.
He then accused her of having a strong desire for control due to past trauma, and believing everyone should conform to her views. Ji Mo warned her not to think her psychology background gave her the right to control others. He then used his psychological insight to give her a final "lesson," telling her to remember her current expression, as "that" was genuine fear, which she could use in her acting in the future.
After Ji Mo left, Du Guruonan clutched her racing heart, attributing her fear to "that creep." Later, Du Guruonan received an urgent call. She asked Ji Mo for a ride, and despite his initial reluctance, he agreed. They found Song Zihao publicly dancing in a crowded place. Du Guruonan tried to pull him away, concerned about his image, but his fans intervened, protecting him and accusing Du Guruonan of bullying their idol, referencing earlier media reports.
In a desperate attempt to diffuse the situation, Du Guruonan falsely claimed Ji Mo was her boyfriend, but the crowd remained aggressive. Song Zihao, still defiant, announced his intention to terminate his contract, confident he could find another company to pay the penalty. Du Guruonan reminded him of her efforts when he was an unknown rookie, begging directors and investors, and how he used to show gratitude. She criticized his newfound arrogance and blamed him for causing trouble. Ji Mo then stepped in, telling Du Guruonan that her self-righteousness and insensitivity to others' feelings were why people avoided her and why Lin Huan had left her.
