Hello, My Shining Lover Episode 34 Recap
> Hello, My Shining Lover Recap
At the press conference for the drama "Embracing Future You," newcomer Si Da introduced himself. Du Guruonan and Ji Mo were present backstage to support him. Du Guruonan expressed concern to Si Da that Song Zihao's fans might direct their anger at him because of Song Zihao's absence, but Si Da assured her he was ready, feeling confident with her by his side.
Ji Mo observed that Si Da had matured, and Si Da agreed, stating he needed to grow to be worthy of being Du Guruonan's artist. Shen Qiansha, present at the event, also reflected on her ambition, wondering if she could ever catch up to Du Guruonan. As the main cast, including Producer Mr. Lu Jia, Director Mr. Hou Zhen, Female Lead Ms. Jia Jia, and Si Da, took the stage, reporters immediately questioned Song Zihao's absence.
The host explained he was unwell. Si Da stepped in, apologizing for Song Zihao and encouraging fans to support the drama. Du Guruonan noted Si Da's surprising growth, realizing her previous worries were unnecessary, and Ji Mo acknowledged Du Guruonan's crucial role in Si Da's success. When asked about Du Guruonan's past collaboration with Song Zihao and her current relationship with Ji Mo, Si Da defended her, calling her a mentor to both him and Song Zihao.
He then invited Du Guruonan and Shen Qiansha onto the stage for a group photo, stating it would prove their relationships were not as troubled as rumored. Meanwhile, Samantha sent a text to Ji Mo, asking him to meet her at the hotel's observation deck as she had something important to say and would wait for him there. Ji Mo went, telling her they should stop meeting privately and that if it happened again, he wouldn't come.
Samantha grew emotional, confessing that after her past experience, she had wanted to end her life but Ji Mo’s image in her mind kept her going; she clung to him as her reason to live. She hated who she had become but desperately wanted him to notice her. Ji Mo tried to calm her, reminding her that she was simply unwell and could recover, just as he had with Du Guruonan's help.
He encouraged her that her life could start anew and she could heal. Overwhelmed, Samantha collapsed into his arms. Backstage, Du Guruonan was looking for Ji Mo when Zhao Yucheng approached her. He pointed her towards the observation deck upstairs, subtly suggesting that when it came to feelings, anything was possible, especially since Ji Mo was with Samantha. Du Guruonan, stunned, went upstairs and saw Samantha collapsed in Ji Mo's arms. Heartbroken, she turned and left.
Shen Qiansha found Du Guruonan crying backstage and tried to comfort her, understanding that Du Guruonan was deeply hurt by Ji Mo's actions but reminding her that she wasn't foolish, just deeply in love. Later that night, Du Guruonan returned home to find Ji Mo on the sofa. She confronted him about his disappearance from the press conference and his absence throughout the night. Ji Mo attempted to explain that he had been with Samantha.
Du Guruonan was exasperated, declaring it ridiculous that Samantha constantly came between them, whether alive or seemingly gone. She felt like an unwanted third party, realizing that some things, including relationships, have a "first come, first served" principle. Ji Mo insisted Du Guruonan was his "one and only" and that his relationship with Samantha had ended long ago. Du Guruonan questioned if it ever truly ended. Tired of repeated explanations and misunderstandings, she concluded their relationship was a mistake.
Since Ji Mo seemed unable to make a definitive choice, she made it for them: "We're over." Ji Mo pleaded with her to listen to his explanation, claiming it was all a misunderstanding. Du Guruonan, however, had heard enough. She demanded he let go and stop tormenting her, then firmly told him to move out.
Meanwhile, Song Zihao was fuming over a newly revised script, criticizing its "lousy" plot and "brainless" dialogue, especially one scene where his character would confess love immediately after a severe car accident, and another where he would fight in a wheelchair. The director tried to appease him, explaining that his high fees left no budget for better screenwriters and that the market demanded "obsessed CEO" characters.
Song Zihao countered, stating that audiences were not fools and that such a script would be ridiculed, vowing not to shoot it. Tong Tong, his agent, informed the director that public opinion was severely damaging Song Zihao's reputation, with netizens "spontaneously praising Si Da and bashing Zihao." She suspected sabotage. Tong Tong then confronted Du Guruonan, accusing her of releasing negative stories about Song Zihao to elevate Si Da.
Du Guruonan sharply retorted, calling Tong Tong useless and blaming her for ruining Song Zihao's future. She asserted that she possessed moral principles and would never resort to releasing negative information, suggesting that Song Zihao's current predicament was Tong Tong's "retribution." Du Guruonan urged Tong Tong to protect Song Zihao, who was facing intense public pressure, and asked if she would take responsibility if something happened to him.
Tong Tong dismissed Du Guruonan's advice, warning her that she would investigate the matter thoroughly. Later, Shen Qiansha found Song Zihao drinking heavily at a bar, despite his alcohol allergy. She scolded him for not attending the press conference, pointing out that his name was trending negatively and his fans were "crucifying" Si Da. Song Zihao, visibly hurt, asked if she genuinely cared about him, saying it would be worth it if it meant her concern.
Shen Qiansha denied caring about him, only wishing he wouldn't affect Si Da. Song Zihao grew angry, lamenting that everyone, including Du Guruonan, only cared about Si Da and never his feelings. Shen Qiansha initially criticized him for acting like a diva, but Song Zihao clarified that he was never informed about the press conference. He described tirelessly working on poor productions while being unfairly labeled unprofessional, expressing his hurt that even Shen Qiansha didn't believe him.
Shen Qiansha, realizing her misjudgment, apologized. She admitted that she had only considered Si Da's perspective, believing Song Zihao and Tong Tong were intentionally creating trouble for him. She urged Song Zihao to publicly clarify the situation to avoid further damage. Song Zihao dismissed her suggestion, saying he didn't need pity or understanding; those who understood him didn't need explanations, and those who didn't, why bother? He accused her of being selfish for not considering his difficult situation.
Shen Qiansha reaffirmed her desire to help him. Song Zihao suddenly asked for "just one kiss." Shocked, Shen Qiansha pushed him away and slapped him across the face. Song Zihao apologized, stating he could no longer pursue her and had needed that slap to accept it. Shen Qiansha ran off, repeatedly declaring her hatred for him. That night, Tong Tong arrived at Song Zihao's apartment, finding him intoxicated.
He regretted choosing her as his agent and leaving Du Guruonan, believing she had ruined him. Tong Tong retaliated, calling him "useless trash" who had "more temper than talent," unable even to surpass a supporting actor like Si Da. In despair, Song Zihao smashed a bottle on his head, terrifying Tong Tong, who then fled. He remained alone, saying he wouldn't harm her, only himself, and wished only to be left in peace.
Despite her personal heartbreak, Du Guruonan instructed her assistant to compile all media contacts and quickly prepare clarification materials for Song Zihao. She stated that all expenses would be deducted from Si Da's publicity budget, and she would take full responsibility. When her assistant questioned helping "that bastard Song Zihao," Du Guruonan countered, asking if they wanted to see him completely ruined. Ji Mo, adhering to Du Guruonan's request, packed his belongings.
He sent a text, informing her he was moving out today and wanted to see her one last time, waiting at home. Du Guruonan replied, telling him not to wait, that she didn't want to see him, and he should just leave. She reflected on her intense dislike for his perceived arrogance, yet also acknowledged that he had brought her a sense of security beyond material things. She remained at the company, avoiding him.
Ji Mo, realizing she was deliberately hiding, sent another text: "Stop wasting time. Go home and rest. I'm leaving." Later, as Du Guruonan drove into the underground parking lot, she saw Ji Mo. She watched him drive away, then slumped over her steering wheel, weeping inconsolably.
