Li Jing expressed his profound feelings for Si Yin, revealing that since their time at Grand Purple Palace and his subsequent imprisonment, he had thought of her incessantly and knew his heart could never hold anyone else. Si Yin, though flustered, gently rejected him, clarifying that while they were close, she harbored no romantic feelings and wished to maintain their previous carefree friendship.
She reminded him of his status as the Second Prince of the Winged Tribe and offered him a guestroom for the night, intending to see him off the mountain the next morning. Li Jing, disappointed, stated he hadn't traveled thousands of miles to hear such words. Their conversation was interrupted by Si Yin's Eldest Senior Brother, who angrily confronted Li Jing for daring to come to Kunlun Void. He recalled how Li Jing's father had tormented their Ninth Senior Brother.
Li Jing, showing deference to Si Yin, stated he would not fight her senior brother. Eldest Senior Brother, however, was determined to teach him a lesson. Ninth Senior Brother intervened, pleading for Li Jing and revealing how Li Jing had protected Si Yin during their departure from Grand Purple Palace. Si Yin also asked Eldest Senior Brother to spare Li Jing.
Taking advantage of the moment, Si Yin urged Li Jing to leave quickly, to which he promised to return for her. Eldest Senior Brother then ordered Zi Lan to pursue Li Jing. Zi Lan later reported that he couldn't catch Li Jing, who had ventured into a menacing, sealed cave. Zi Lan questioned the nature of the cave, noting its eerie aura.
Eldest Senior Brother explained that the cave was borrowed by the Lord of Lingbao to house a demonic creature, and they were strictly forbidden from approaching it. He concluded that Li Jing's fate, now that he had stumbled into the cave, was his own to face. Meanwhile, Si Yin took Xuan Nü for a walk.
Xuan Nü inquired about the earlier fight and brought up the Winged Realm's potential rebellion, recalling how Qian Qian used to speak of Winged Monarch Qing Cang's ambition, predicting an inevitable war. Si Yin confidently asserted that her Master was powerful enough to ensure their victory. Their conversation was cut short by the urgent arrival of Fire Qilin, who pleaded with Si Yin to save Li Jing. Si Yin, recognizing the name, immediately agreed to help.
Upon reaching the cave, Si Yin found Li Jing struggling against a fiery phoenix. She quickly subdued the creature with her Jade Clarity Kunlun Fan. Just then, the Lord of Lingbao appeared, having sensed the disturbance in the seal. He explained that the phoenix, a creature with an uneliminated demonic nature, was under his care, and he had borrowed the cave to use Kunlun Void's spiritual power to purify it. He apologized for the phoenix accidentally harming them.
To compensate them, the Lord of Lingbao gifted Si Yin the Cloud-Breaking Fan, noting its power depended on the user's capabilities. Si Yin accepted the gift. With Fire Qilin's help, she then escorted the injured Li Jing away. Si Yin settled Li Jing in a cave at the foot of Kunlun Mountain and meticulously cared for him. Li Jing expressed self-reproach, embarrassed that he had needed her rescue.
Si Yin reassured him, explaining that his powers were suppressed in Kunlun Void. Li Jing, feeling unworthy of her status as a respected High Immortal, worried about their future. To grant him easy access, Si Yin gave him a talisman allowing him to enter and exit Kunlun Void freely. She also confided in him that no one in Kunlun Void knew she was a woman and asked him to keep her identity a secret.
The peace was broken when Xuan Nü’s mother arrived at Kunlun Void, determined to take Xuan Nü back for an arranged marriage to a black bear sprite. Xuan Nü desperately sought help from Eldest Senior Brother, vowing she would not marry without love. Eldest Senior Brother tried to reason with her mother, but she angrily rebuked him for interfering. Si Yin and Zi Lan intervened.
In a desperate attempt to help Xuan Nü, Si Yin fabricated a story, claiming Eldest Senior Brother was the Second Prince of the Western Sea and that he and Xuan Nü were romantically involved. Convinced, Xuan Nü's mother agreed to let her daughter stay longer and departed. Eldest Senior Brother was furious that Si Yin and Zi Lan had used his name in a deceitful tale. He directly told Xuan Nü that he harbored no special feelings for her.
He explained that as the eldest disciple of Kunlun Void, he was focused on cultivation, and as the Second Prince of the Western Sea, his marriage would be arranged by his parents. Though Xuan Nü had known this, hearing his blunt rejection in front of Si Yin and Zi Lan still deeply hurt her. That evening, Fire Qilin delivered a talisman to Si Yin, which Li Jing had covered with love poems.
Si Yin was embarrassed by the verses and quickly snatched the talisman away from a curious Xuan Nü. Later, Xuan Nü reflected on her own envy of Qian Qian's (Si Yin's true form) beauty. Qian Qian had once helped her learn a temporary disguise spell from Zhe Yan, enabling her to briefly take on Qian Qian's appearance. Xuan Nü seethed with frustration, wondering why she always seemed to fall short compared to Qian Qian/Si Yin.
Later, Fire Qilin frantically informed Si Yin that Li Jing intended to commit suicide. Si Yin rushed to the cave to find Li Jing motionless, feigning death. After Fire Qilin suggested stimulating his heart emotionally, Si Yin, desperate, promised to agree to his request if he would only wake up. Li Jing immediately opened his eyes, triumphant that she had finally expressed her feelings. They playfully argued, with Li Jing complaining about her infrequent visits.
Si Yin teased him about his harem, which he earnestly vowed to dismiss for her alone, declaring his lifelong devotion to her and swearing an oath. He then playfully requested a massage, using a feigned injury to keep her close. As their affection grew, Li Jing expressed his desire to be with her, but Si Yin, reminding him of her noble status, playfully pushed him away.
The next morning, while performing her lessons, Si Yin pondered the mystery of the Donghuang Bell. As she prepared to visit Li Jing, Xuan Nü intercepted her, questioning her frequent disappearances. Xuan Nü, feeling neglected by both Eldest Senior Brother and Si Yin, expressed her hurt and accused Si Yin of lying. Si Yin, seeing Xuan Nü’s distress, admitted she had been visiting a friend.
Xuan Nü immediately pressed, asking if her friend was the Second Prince of the Winged Tribe. Realizing she couldn't keep it a secret, Si Yin confessed Li Jing was indeed hiding in a nearby cave. Xuan Nü, her mind already forming a plan, insisted on meeting him and begged to be taken along. Si Yin reluctantly agreed. Si Yin brought Xuan Nü to Li Jing’s cave.
Li Jing was overjoyed to see Si Yin and presented her with a bamboo flute he had carved. Si Yin then introduced Xuan Nü as her distant cousin. Li Jing immediately noticed Xuan Nü's striking resemblance to Si Yin, but with a subtly alluring quality, and his gaze lingered on her. He even suggested that Xuan Nü could visit him if Si Yin was busy.
Suddenly, Si Yin heard the distant calls of cranes, mistaking them for a sign of her Master's return. She hastily bid farewell to Li Jing, explaining it would be inconvenient to visit him once her Master was back. Li Jing was crestfallen by her quick departure. He later followed Si Yin to Kunlun Void, only to realize that her urgency was indeed due to her Master.
Seeing Si Yin's profound devotion to Mo Yuan, Li Jing felt a bitter pang of jealousy and dejectedly turned away. Xuan Nü, hidden from view, witnessed his despair. Back in his cave, Li Jing cradled the bamboo flute, questioning his decision to betray his tribe for a seemingly unrequited love. In his despondent state, a figure appeared, and for a fleeting moment, he mistook her for Si Yin.
It was Xuan Nü, wearing Si Yin’s clothes, which she claimed was for convenience. She confronted Li Jing, questioning his pursuit of Si Yin and reminding him that a relationship between the Heavenly and Winged Tribes was impossible. She subtly implied that Si Yin's heart truly belonged to Mo Yuan, leaving Li Jing visibly shaken. Capitalizing on his emotional vulnerability, Xuan Nü then transformed her appearance to mimic Si Yin's.
Li Jing, bewildered by her seductive gaze, found himself unable to discern whether the woman before him was real or an illusion. They spent the night together. The next morning, as she returned to Kunlun Void, Xuan Nü narrowly avoided being discovered by Eldest Senior Brother, who commented that from behind, she and Si Yin looked alike. A few days later, Si Yin and Li Jing had planned to go to the Mortal Realm.
However, Si Yin was delayed by Eldest Senior Brother and sent Xuan Nü in her stead. At the teahouse, Li Jing expressed his deep guilt to Xuan Nü about their encounter, feeling he had been irresponsible. Xuan Nü, however, assured him that she had acted willingly. When Si Yin finally arrived, Li Jing's attention immediately shifted to her. Feeling a surge of jealousy, Xuan Nü quickly excused herself and left.
Si Yin then asked Li Jing if he had ever visited Junji Mountain in the Eastern Wilderness, suggesting they go together someday. Upon returning to Kunlun Void, Si Yin was studying when Eldest Senior Brother angrily confronted her. He expressed profound regret for not having killed Li Jing when he had the chance, revealing that Li Jing had now "abducted" Xuan Nü. Si Yin was shocked.
Eldest Senior Brother explained that he had just seen Li Jing and Xuan Nü strolling hand in hand below the mountain. Distraught, Si Yin rushed to the mountain cave and burst in, only to find Li Jing and Xuan Nü intimately entangled, leaving her utterly devastated.
