On the day Ye Hua and Su Su were married in the mortal realm, Su Jin was also conferred as a heavenly consort in the Celestial Palace. Su Jin confided in her closest maid, stating that all her actions were ultimately driven by her desire to marry Ye Hua. Heavenly Monarch visited Su Jin, clarifying that their marriage was merely nominal, allowing her to continue residing in her own palace.
He then agreed to Su Jin’s suggestion that Ye Hua accompany her to visit various tribal leaders, believing it would lend importance and help Ye Hua rally support for the impending war against the Merpeople Tribe. Meanwhile, Xuan Nü secretly gave a military token to Yan Zhi. Xuan Nü believed that with even Li Jing's most cherished sister now betraying him, she could become the closest person to him within the Grand Purple Palace.
She approached a drunken Li Jing, wearing Si Yin's clothes. In his intoxicated state, Li Jing's longing for Si Yin intensified upon seeing Xuan Nü dressed like her, and he embraced her tightly, mistaking her for Si Yin. In the mortal realm, Su Su attempted to roast a chicken for Ye Hua, but her unfamiliarity with cooking led to their straw hut catching fire.
Ye Hua swiftly pulled her to safety, then miraculously extinguished the flames and restored the hut to its original state using his magic. Witnessing this, Su Su was astonished and wondered if Ye Hua was a monster. Ye Hua, testing her, asked if she was afraid. Su Su bravely declared that regardless of whether he was human or demon, she would remain with him, having vowed to be his wife for all lifetimes.
She suspected he might be the "Golden Lion" that had caused chaos, a creature the "little black dragon" she once cared for had fought. Fearing the black dragon's return, she urged Ye Hua to escape. Amused by her earnestness, Ye Hua clarified that he was not a monster but merely a mortal cultivating to be an immortal, possessing a bit of magic.
Su Su, though initially disappointed by the lack of a grand escape, accepted his explanation, still wondering how a cultivating "monk" could be married. While Ye Hua and Su Su were out hunting, Heavenly Monarch and Emperor Dong Hua unexpectedly visited Ye Hua's palace. Alerted, Ye Hua immediately rushed back to the Celestial Palace.
He appeared pale and feigned exhaustion, attributing it to overworking on strategies for the impending war against the Merpeople Tribe, which also explained his absence from Su Jin’s ceremonial day. He informed Heavenly Monarch of his ambition to be a wise ruler, rather than being distracted by romantic entanglements, and requested another 20,000 years for cultivation. This subtly deflected inquiries about his engagement to Bai Qian.
Ye Hua then presented the Yuqing Kunlun Fan, which he claimed to have retrieved from Li Jing in the mortal realm. He suggested that investigating how this sacred weapon, once belonging to Si Yin, fell into the Winged Tribe's hands could shed light on High God Mo Yuan's disappearance, providing a plausible reason for his recent activities in the mortal realm.
Heavenly Monarch, pleased by Ye Hua's dedication and resourcefulness, instructed him to accompany Su Jin on her diplomatic visit to tribal leaders to solidify alliances against the Merpeople. After Heavenly Monarch and Emperor Dong Hua departed, Lian Song confronted Ye Hua, seeing through his feigned indifference and understanding his deep feelings for the mortal Su Su. He questioned if Ye Hua intended to use the 20,000 years to live out a full mortal life with Su Su.
Ye Hua confirmed his unwavering resolve, stating he wished to be with Su Su not just for this life, but for all lifetimes. Lian Song, recalling the tragic fate of Sang Ji and his mortal love, warned Ye Hua that if Heavenly Monarch discovered his love for a mortal, Su Su would endure a misery worse than death.
As they discussed how to navigate the perilous situation, Lian Song noticed Su Jin eavesdropping nearby and quickly cautioned Ye Hua to be silent. Su Jin then interrupted their conversation, asking about their departure and arranging an overnight stay during the trip, subtly trying to extend her time with Ye Hua. Meanwhile, in the Heavenly Palace, Bai Fengjiu was determined to repay Emperor Dong Hua for saving her life.
Fengjiu expressed her desire to repay his kindness, to which Dong Hua playfully suggested she repay High God Mo Yuan for a tea set, knowing that Mo Yuan had been "retired" for a very long time. Fengjiu, realizing Dong Hua might be testing her or hinting at her aunt’s connection to Mo Yuan, feigned ignorance, claiming she had no idea where Mo Yuan was.
Dong Hua then inquired about the relationship between Fengjiu's aunt and Mo Yuan, but Fengjiu reiterated that her aunt had nothing to do with Kunlun Void. He also asked if she had seen the Yuqing Kunlun Fan, to which she replied she didn't know what it was. Later, Fengjiu accidentally spilled tea and broke the cup, leading a maid to scold her and reveal that the cup was a gift from High God Mo Yuan.
Lian Song then arrived and confirmed the engagement between Ye Hua and Fengjiu's aunt, Bai Qian, and asked if Dong Hua would be meeting her family. Burdened by her growing debt to Dong Hua, Fengjiu privately lamented that her aunt's teacher, Mo Yuan, needed to return soon, otherwise, she feared she would never be able to repay her obligations, even across three lifetimes.
