At the boxing gym, Hu Rong found Bei Xiaoshuai and Zhuo Li stealthily watching something on a phone. When questioned, Bei Xiaoshuai initially deflected, but under Hu Rong’s insistent pressure, Zhuo Li confessed that Li Jianguo and A-Se had secretly gone to M Country to search for evidence to prove Liu Ziguang's innocence. Zhuo Li explained they were watching a video and listening to a voice message Li Jianguo had sent.

The video showed A-Se stating that the location was where Liu Ziguang used to live. Upon hearing this, Hu Rong was startled and declared that they needed to bring Li Jianguo and A-Se back immediately. Meanwhile, in M Country, Li Jianguo and A-Se were leaving Officer Huang's small bistro. Suddenly, they were ambushed by an unknown group of armed individuals who surrounded the place.

Li Jianguo and A-Se fled to the rooftop, but as the armed men closed in, Li Jianguo didn't notice an armed individual firing at him from behind. At the critical moment, A-Se heroically pushed Li Jianguo out of the line of fire, was hit by a bullet, and fell from the building, dying from the impact, as Li Jianguo cried out in anguish. Li Jianguo was subsequently captured by the armed group.

Nie Wanfeng received a call from his subordinate, who confirmed that they had killed A-Se and captured Li Jianguo. Nie Wanfeng instructed his men to keep Li Jianguo alive, as he could be useful. Back at the police station, Hu Rong urgently reported to Han Jin about Li Jianguo and A-Se's unauthorized trip to M Country. Han Jin was stunned.

Just then, he received a call from the M Country police, informing him of a fatal shooting where A-Se was killed and Li Jianguo was abducted. Both Han Jin and Hu Rong were shocked. During a police briefing, Director-General Hu Yuejin and Deputy Director Song were informed of the situation. Han Jin detailed the M Country police report about the gun homicide near the "Teacher's pub," confirming A-Se's death and Li Jianguo's abduction.

Hu Rong then presented her deduction: A-Se consistently referred to Liu Ziguang as "Sect Leader," and in his audio message, A-Se confirmed he, Liu Ziguang, and their "Elder Sect Leader" had lived in that M Country pub. She concluded that the "Elder Sect Leader" was likely Officer Huang Zhenwu. Director-General Hu Yuejin validated Hu Rong's reasoning and, with a grave expression, stated that A-Se's death meant Li Jianguo's safety was paramount.

He ordered Han Jin to secretly liaise with the M Country police to investigate the armed men and ensure Li Jianguo's safe rescue. Hu Yuejin then spoke privately with Hu Rong, urging her to conceal A-Se's death from Liu Ziguang to protect his fragile mental state. He also encouraged her to help Liu Ziguang recover his memories, seeing it as a crucial step for both Liu Ziguang and the ongoing investigation.

At the boxing gym, Liu Ziguang was in a daze when A-Se's voice echoed in his mind, saying he left the "Disciple Stone" under the pillow. Liu Ziguang found the stone and, in a harrowing vision, saw A-Se's tragic death. Overcome with grief, he frantically demanded to know A-Se's whereabouts from Bei Xiaoshuai and Zhuo Li. They reluctantly informed him that A-Se and Li Jianguo had gone to M Country to investigate his past.

Liu Ziguang, desperate, declared he was going to M Country to find A-Se, convinced by his vivid dream that A-Se had died. Hu Rong arrived and stopped him, urging him to stay in Jiangbei and cooperate with the police investigation. She insisted that his only task now was to recall his past, deceptively assuring him that A-Se and Li Jianguo were safe. Later, Han Jin received another call from Officer Chang Tuo of M Country police.

Chang Tuo revealed that during their investigation into Huang Zhenwu's homicide, they discovered a significant lead: Huang Zhenwu had cultivated an informant who provided intelligence on a major drug trafficking meeting on the open sea. However, the informant's identity and current location remained unknown. Hu Rong rushed to the police bureau after Han Jin summoned her. Han Jin shared the M Country police's discovery about Huang Zhenwu's informant.

Hu Rong, recalling Li Jianguo's audio message about Liu Ziguang living in her father's pub, excitedly theorized if Liu Ziguang could be the informant. She eagerly asked if this would clear his name. Han Jin confirmed it would to some extent but stressed that proving Liu Ziguang's identity as the informant was difficult and that M Country police were actively verifying the informant's identity.

He suggested Hu Rong carefully probe Liu Ziguang, hoping he might recall something, but warned against deliberately prompting him. Liu Ziguang, surrounded by photos of Huang Zhenwu, struggled with his fragmented memories. Suddenly, a flood of recollections surged into his mind: Huang Zhenwu persuading him to become an informant, infiltrate a drug cartel, and promising to introduce him to his daughter.

He also vividly remembered Nie Wanfeng's maniacal laughter after the "Angel Version Two" success and the scene of getting a tattoo. Overwhelmed, Liu Ziguang roared Nie Wanfeng's name. He then excitedly told Hu Rong that he had remembered everything. He claimed Nie Wanfeng was part of a drug cartel and had a wolf's head tattoo identical to his own.

He implored Hu Rong to take him to Nie Wanfeng, believing that if Nie Wanfeng indeed had the tattoo, it would prove Liu Ziguang's innocence. Hu Rong, believing him, agreed. They went to Nie Wanfeng's residence. Hu Rong explained that Liu Ziguang had regained his memory and asserted that Nie Wanfeng was a member of Colby's drug cartel and should also bear a wolf's head tattoo. She demanded to see his tattoo.

Nie Wanfeng, seemingly unfazed, initially scoffed at Liu Ziguang's "imagination" and questioned Hu Rong's professional conduct as a police officer who should rely on concrete evidence, not a suspect's erratic memories. Despite his protests, he eventually lifted his shirt to reveal a smooth, untattooed back. Liu Ziguang was dumbfounded. Nie Wanfeng mockingly dismissed them as they left, demanding Hu Rong report the incident to her superiors for a satisfactory explanation.

Back at the boxing gym, a dejected Liu Ziguang tore down the photos from the wall. He confided in Hu Rong, explaining that he hadn't been insane but struggled to articulate his thoughts or trust his own memories. He felt guilty for his selfishness, acknowledging Hu Rong as the true victim, yet she had consistently encouraged and believed in him. He lamented his current inability to trust his own recollections, especially after Nie Wanfeng showed no tattoo.

He felt his memory of being Huang Zhenwu's informant was useless if no one, not even himself, could believe it. Hu Rong, however, reaffirmed her faith in him, confirming that the police had indeed discovered that her father had an informant. Nie Wanfeng, upon learning that Liu Ziguang's memories were recovering rapidly, grew increasingly anxious, fearing that Liu Ziguang might eventually recall everything and pose a threat.

He remembered the one hundred million US dollars he had deposited into a bank account, with Liu Ziguang having entered the password and Nie Wanfeng his fingerprint. After careful deliberation, Nie Wanfeng decided it was time to play his final card. He instructed Wanka to send the black money account details to Interpol, hoping that if Liu Ziguang remembered the password, it would solidify his identity as Sangbo.
