Brother Hu inquired of Nie Wanfeng whether he should go into hiding. Nie Wanfeng calmly replied that there was no need, but advised Brother Hu to be careful not to expose the scratches on his wrist, which he sustained when Hou Sihai struggled against him. It was revealed that after Nie Wanfeng had arranged to meet Hou Sihai at the pier that night, Brother Hu took the opportunity to drown him in the river.

Subsequently, Brother Hu retrieved the key to Hou Sihai's laptop from his wallet, accessed his computer, located, and deleted incriminating videos. At a police meeting, Hu Rong presented a blue lighter found among Hou Sihai's belongings and proposed investigating it as a lead. Han Jin then instructed his team to find out which high-end clubs distributed such lighters to their members. Separately, Li Wan confessed to Liu Ziguang that she had drunkenly woken up next to Bei Xiaoshuai.

Liu Ziguang was stunned. When Bei Xiaoshuai approached, Li Wan furiously called him a beast. Liu Ziguang then received a phone call and left quickly. Bei Xiaoshuai explained that Li Wan had thrown up on herself that night, and he had asked an elderly neighbor, Aunt Zhang, to help change her clothes, assuring Liu Ziguang nothing untoward had happened. Relieved, Li Wan immediately called Liu Ziguang to confirm her innocence and reaffirm her feelings for him.

Later, Han Jin met Liu Ziguang for drinks. He candidly admitted that before Liu Ziguang's appearance, everyone, including himself, had assumed he would become Hu Yuejin's son-in-law. Han Jin confessed that seeing the way Hu Rong looked at Liu Ziguang made him realize he had lost, though he still harbored a sliver of hope. At that moment, Li Wan arrived with soup for Liu Ziguang, who, without a word, abruptly rushed out.

Han Jin, feeling dejected, told Li Wan he had just made a foolish decision, giving up the woman he loved to his rival. Li Wan chastised Han Jin as a fool and attempted to leave. Han Jin stopped her, taking her to a bar to drink away their sorrows. Li Wan accused Han Jin of idly sitting while their loved ones were together.

Han Jin, in turn, sharply rebuked her, saying that if she truly loved Liu Ziguang, she should wish him happiness instead of trying to sabotage his relationships. Hu Rong informed Han Jin that Liu Ziguang had seen Hou Sihai on the night of the murder. Han Jin considered this crucial and asked for specific details. Hu Rong revealed she had arranged to meet Liu Ziguang at 10:30 p. m. at the amusement park that night.

She wanted to tell him she chose him, but he never showed up. It turned out he had encountered Hou Sihai and was involved in a car accident while pursuing him. Han Jin explained that Liu Ziguang was hit by Hou Sihai at 11:15 p. m. and disappeared from surveillance at 11:25 p. m. while still chasing Hou Sihai. However, Liu Ziguang only reported the incident to the police at 1:15 a. m.

Due to blind spots in surveillance, there was a crucial one-hour and fifty-minute gap where Hou Sihai was murdered, and they needed Liu Ziguang to explain what happened. Meanwhile, Bei Xiaoshuai was strategizing with Liu Ziguang on how to mend things with Hu Rong, whom he called "Xiao Hong." Bei Xiaoshuai critiqued Liu Ziguang's previous confession as lacking creativity and for standing Hu Rong up. He suggested Liu Ziguang plan a unique and romantic confession.

Liu Ziguang worried about too many people at Truly Authentic, so Bei Xiaoshuai proposed the boxing gym for a more private setting, assuring him of "follow-up activities." While Han Jin and Hu Rong were discussing the case, Liu Ziguang called Hu Rong, inviting her to the boxing gym. Hu Rong, prompted by Han Jin, replied that she would come to the boxing gym that night instead of waiting until the next day.

Bei Xiaoshuai, upon hearing this, became excited, interpreting it as a sign of Hu Rong's eagerness. He quickly rallied his friends to help prepare the boxing gym. At the boxing gym, Bei Xiaoshuai and his crew meticulously set up decorations, including balloons, flowers, a band, and a swimming pool, creating a romantic atmosphere.

Bei Xiaoshuai kept coaching a nervous Liu Ziguang on the romantic lines he was supposed to say, repeatedly correcting his mistakes and reminding him to use "Rong Rong" instead of "Xiao Hong." When Hu Rong arrived, she was surprised by the elaborate setup. Bei Xiaoshuai grandly introduced Liu Ziguang.

Liu Ziguang, still fumbling, began his heartfelt confession, expressing his deep affection for her, how she brought familiarity and trust after his memory loss, and his desire for her to accompany him through life, shielding her from storms. He proposed that she be his boyfriend. Hu Rong was visibly moved, tears streaming down her face. She asked Bei Xiaoshuai and the others to leave, saying she needed time with Liu Ziguang.

Once alone with Liu Ziguang, Hu Rong approached him, her expression serious. She pulled out her police ID and stated, "I'm a police officer. My name is Hu Rong. You reported seeing Hou Sihai, who was murdered. Please come to the bureau with me and explain to us in detail what happened." Bei Xiaoshuai later met Li Wan at Truly Authentic, where he excitedly recounted Liu Ziguang's confession to Hu Rong, embellishing details about their newfound intimacy.

He then jokingly declared his intention to officially pursue Li Wan, echoing a past promise to Liu Ziguang. Li Wan, heartbroken, started crying uncontrollably. Seeing her distress, Bei Xiaoshuai admitted his pursuit was a joke to cheer her up, but Liu Ziguang's confession to Hu Rong was real. Li Wan, still upset, asked for beer, and Bei Xiaoshuai agreed to drink with her.

At the Public Security Bureau, Liu Ziguang was interrogated by Hu Rong and Han Jin about the night Hou Sihai was murdered. Liu Ziguang recounted running into Hou Sihai on his way to the amusement park, chasing him because he knew Hou Sihai was wanted, being hit by Hou Sihai's car, fainting, and waking up to continue the chase before being almost hit by another car and asking a passing driver to call the police.

Han Jin pressed for details, pointing out that forensic evidence showed Hou Sihai's time of death coincided with the period Liu Ziguang claimed to be unconscious. Liu Ziguang grew angry, asking if they suspected him of murder, and then pointedly asked Hu Rong if she also suspected him. Han Jin interjected, clarifying it was a routine investigation due to surveillance blind spots. Liu Ziguang, however, refused to leave, stating he would remain to cooperate fully with the investigation.

Han Jin asked Hu Rong to speak with Liu Ziguang alone. After a night of drinking, Li Wan woke up to find herself in Bei Xiaoshuai's bed, wearing different clothes. Mortified, she tried to sneak out but was caught by Uncle Guo, who misunderstood the situation. Just then, Bei Xiaoshuai received a phone call from the Public Security Bureau, informing them about Liu Ziguang being there. Hu Rong, having stayed up all night, was urged by Han Jin to rest.

Zhao Gang then rushed in to report that the primary crime scene had been found. Han Jin and Hu Rong immediately went to the scene, where they found clear signs of a struggle. They concluded Hou Sihai fought fiercely with his killer before being drowned, confirming it was murder and not suicide. At the Public Security Bureau, Li Wan arrived with a lawyer. The lawyer spoke with the police and informed them that Liu Ziguang was voluntarily staying to cooperate.

Uncle Guo, seeing Li Wan's distress, advised her to return home and wait for news. Han Jin and Hu Rong interviewed a witness who described Hou Sihai running fast, while Liu Ziguang was lagging, staggering, and appearing unwell, often falling. The witness believed Liu Ziguang would not have been able to catch Hou Sihai in that condition. Hu Rong returned to the Public Security Bureau.

Xiao Tian reported that the forensic team had extracted skin flakes and hair from Hou Sihai's fingernails, suspected to be torn from the killer. Hu Rong immediately began investigating. During mealtime, Han Jin ordered takeout for Hu Rong and received a phone call from the forensic doctor stating that the comparison results were ready. Han Jin rushed over, and an anxious Hu Rong hurried after him.

The DNA comparison showed that the suspect's DNA did not match Liu Ziguang, effectively clearing him. Hu Rong breathed a sigh of relief. Hu Rong then went to the interrogation room to inform Liu Ziguang of the DNA results and that he could go home. Liu Ziguang left without a word and encountered Li Wan, who immediately bombarded him with questions.

Seeing them walk away side-by-side in what appeared to be an intimate manner, Hu Rong felt a pang of sadness. Separately, Brother Hu nervously reported to Nie Wanfeng that the police had discovered Hou Sihai's murder scene by the river. He asked if he should go into hiding for a while.

Nie Wanfeng calmly advised him not to draw unnecessary attention, but to be careful not to let anyone discover the scratches on his arm sustained during the struggle with Hou Sihai. Back at Truly Authentic, Bei Xiaoshuai and Li Wan tried to explain Liu Ziguang's absence to A-Se, telling him Liu Ziguang was with "Fairy Sister" Hu Rong, practicing "cultivation" at the Public Security Bureau.

Uncle Guo explained that Liu Ziguang was staying to cooperate with the police and prove his innocence. Li Wan, still concerned, promised Uncle Guo she would find a way to clarify the matter and get Liu Ziguang back.
