Your Highness, The Class Monitor Episode 7 Recap
> Your Highness, The Class Monitor Recap
Qun Ying University hosted a friendly basketball match, with the popular Gu Zi Chen and Ye Xing Yu leading their respective teams. Many students came to watch, and Su Nian Nian was reluctantly pulled along by her roommates. As the game intensified and the two male stars showcased their skills, Su Nian Nian grew bored and decided to leave. Just as she was about to depart, a basketball shot by Gu Zi Chen struck her, knocking her unconscious.
Concerned, Gu Zi Chen rushed to help, offering to carry her to the infirmary. However, Ye Xing Yu quickly intervened, scooping Su Nian Nian up and hurrying her off, leaving Gu Zi Chen to follow. After receiving treatment and regaining consciousness, Su Nian Nian was furious to find Gu Zi Chen sitting by her bedside. She berated him, asking why he was always around and accusing him of harming her.
Gu Zi Chen playfully suggested she was "bold" for head-butting a basketball like a football. Su Nian Nian fired back, reminding him he was the one who threw the ball. He then advised her to be more gentle, which only angered her further. She declared she didn't want to see or hear him.
Gu Zi Chen retorted that he felt the same, but asserted his responsibility to stay, implying he was worried she might "run like last time," referencing an earlier hit-and-run accusation. He insisted the doctor wanted her observed and ordered her to rest. Su Nian Nian dismissed his concern, calling him "sick" and blaming him for a past incident involving a broken phone and rumors that had left her "disgusted." Without another word, she abruptly fled the infirmary.
Ye Xing Yu, who had returned, questioned Gu Zi Chen about her sudden departure, to which Gu Zi Chen replied he couldn't stop her and that she was more stubborn than a donkey. Shortly after, the doctor arrived, confirming Su Nian Nian was fine and had gone home. Later, at home, Gu Zi Chen's father, Gu Weiye, expressed his dissatisfaction with his son's vague responses about school life.
He directly questioned Gu Zi Chen about having a girlfriend, prompted by Secretary Liu's report. Gu Zi Chen denied it, dismissing Liu's observation as unreliable. Gu Weiye then sternly warned his son about the importance of responsibility if he were to enter a relationship. His mother encouraged him to find a girlfriend, noting how young she and his father were when they had him. Gu Zi Chen sarcastically suggested they find him a "mayor's daughter" to marry.
His father, annoyed, reiterated that character was more important than social status in choosing a partner. Meanwhile, Ye Xing Yu tutored a young girl named Zhao Ming Jia before going home to cook for his mother. She expressed her desire for him to find a good partner and settle down, to which he playfully agreed to ask the first pretty girl he saw to be his mother's daughter-in-law.
Elsewhere, Zhao Mingyuan and his friends, the Three Remarkable of Qun Ying, plotted against Su Nian Nian, vowing to either expel her or force her to resign as class monitor because of her "tattletale" behavior regarding their dorm's hygiene. A male friend of Su Nian Nian's overheard their plans and boldly confronted them, scolding them for their unmanly behavior and for targeting Su Nian Nian over deducted credits. He threatened to report them to their teacher, Mr. Jiang.
Later, he informed Su Nian Nian about the plan, but Su Nian Nian remained calm, believing she wouldn't be easily driven out and that facing such challenges might even be beneficial. Unbeknownst to her, her earlier report on male dorm hygiene had already incited widespread resentment among male students, who now stared at her menacingly. In class, students threw paper at her.
Her friends, Song Yuxi and her male friend, defended her, while Su Nian Nian declared that she would face any repercussions herself and asked them not to involve her friends. Her chair was then sabotaged, causing her to fall. Gu Zi Chen witnessed this and openly mocked the boys for bullying a girl. Ye Xing Yu spoke with Gu Zi Chen, expressing his hope that the Three Remarkable would mature and suggesting he would talk to them.
Gu Zi Chen, though, described Su Nian Nian as "a rock in a latrine, tough and smelly," yet also found her "interesting." Song Yuxi voiced her worries that Su Nian Nian might lose her monitor position. Ye Xing Yu later confronted Zhao Mingyuan and his friends in their dorm, urging them to stop harassing Su Nian Nian.
He defended her as a competent and admirable monitor, despite their initial complaints that she hadn't given them a chance to improve and was hindering their graduation plans with her "honesty and responsibility." Ye Xing Yu acknowledged their financial struggles, relating them to his own, and suggested Su Nian Nian likely had her reasons for her actions, proposing an open discussion.
One of Zhao Mingyuan's friends, Chen Yuan, admitted it was wrong to treat a girl that way and pointed out Su Nian Nian's academic prowess, noting she had accepted her placement at Qun Ying. Zhao Mingyuan ultimately agreed to cease their actions, but only if Su Nian Nian publicly apologized and relinquished her monitor position. Ye Xing Yu relayed this to Su Nian Nian, suggesting it as a temporary measure.
However, Su Nian Nian vehemently refused to apologize or give up her role, especially under duress. She emphasized that she wasn't motivated by the position itself, but by the personal growth she experienced through these challenges. She insisted that the only way for the boys to regain lost credits was through diligent study, their primary responsibility as students. While Ye Xing Yu agreed her logic was sound, he felt her approach was too harsh and still advocated for peaceful coexistence.
Su Nian Nian, while agreeing to communicate, stated she could only do so much. Later, in the cafeteria, Zhao Mingyuan confronted Su Nian Nian with a large group of students whose credits had been deducted. He demanded she choose between resigning as monitor or being expelled from Qun Ying. Su Nian Nian defiantly told him to look at himself. Enraged, Zhao Mingyuan grabbed her collar. As he escalated, Song Yuxi tried to intervene.
Just then, Ye Xing Yu arrived, sternly ordering Zhao Mingyuan to release Su Nian Nian and questioning his reckless behavior. From a distance, Gu Zi Chen observed the scene and promptly went to inform their class tutor. The tutor arrived, reprimanded the Three Remarkable, and took them to the office, assuring Su Nian Nian he would ensure justice. After the crowd dispersed, Su Nian Nian, overwhelmed by the ordeal, broke down in tears.
Disappointed by his roommates' behavior, Ye Xing Yu moved out of the Three Remarkable's dorm, hoping they would reflect and change. Feeling the weight of Ye Xing Yu's departure and the tutor's admonishment, Zhao Mingyuan and his friends decided to apologize to Su Nian Nian, though Zhao Mingyuan still secretly planned for her to "pay a price." On their way, Zhao Mingyuan was ambushed by an old group of enemies who had brought more people this time.
Spotting the escalating fight, Su Nian Nian and Song Yuxi approached. Despite Song Yuxi's warnings about the dangerous situation, Su Nian Nian intervened, stepping in front of Zhao Mingyuan and his friends. She pulled out her phone and, pretending to call the police, loudly announced that law enforcement was on their way, urging the aggressors to leave. The intimidating group retreated but not before mocking Zhao Mingyuan for needing a woman to protect him. Unappreciative of Su Nian Nian's intervention, Zhao Mingyuan was further angered by the humiliation, calling her "nuts" and instructing her to mind her own business.
