Su Nian Nian approached Mr. Jiang Mu to discuss Zhao Mingyuan’s impending expulsion, hoping to mitigate the punishment before it was finalized. Mr. Jiang Mu, though also wanting to help Zhao Mingyuan, explained the school’s strict regulations. He recounted his own unsuccessful attempt to plead with the Principal, who had angrily dismissed him.

Mr. Jiang Mu suggested that if they could find concrete evidence proving Zhao Mingyuan was the victim and not the instigator, there might be a chance for the school to reconsider. Su Nian Nian understood, determined to find the necessary evidence. Later that day, Su Nian Nian visited Ye Xing Yu in the hospital, bringing him a meal. She felt immense guilt as he had been injured while protecting her during the fight.

Seeing Ye Xing Yu struggle to eat with his injured right hand, she gently took the chopsticks and began to feed him. Ye Xing Yu, touched by her care, made her promise not to thank him anymore, solidifying their bond with a pinky promise. That night, Su Nian Nian, exhausted from worry and care, inadvertently fell asleep on Ye Xing Yu’s hospital bed. Ye Xing Yu watched her peacefully sleeping, a soft smile gracing his lips.

He raised a hand, intending to gently touch her head, but hesitated, ultimately lacking the courage to do so. The next morning, back at school, Gu Zi Chen noticed Su Nian Nian’s absence from class and anxiously inquired about her. Song Yuxi informed him that Su Nian Nian had prepared soup and visited Ye Xing Yu the previous day, staying at the hospital all night. Just as this news settled, Su Nian Nian entered the classroom.

A visibly jealous Gu Zi Chen immediately confronted her, playfully demanding that she make soup for him too. Su Nian Nian found his unexpected jealousy endearing. She also updated her friends that Mr. Jiang Mu was firm on needing evidence to change Zhao Mingyuan's punishment, noting that the incident still constituted a violation of school rules. Gu Zi Chen reassured her, promising that Zhao Mingyuan would not be expelled.

Following this, Su Nian Nian prepared more soup and even some chicken with rice. She brought these to the hospital, this time accompanied by Gu Zi Chen. To appease his jealousy, she had thoughtfully prepared his portion of the meal as well. In Ye Xing Yu’s hospital room, Gu Zi Chen ate his chicken with rice, remarking that he had skipped breakfast in anticipation of this meal.

Ye Xing Yu, observing their dynamic, playfully commented on Gu Zi Chen being a "green-eyed monster." Gu Zi Chen, while still lamenting Su Nian Nian’s lack of concern for his own injuries from the fight, clarified that his true worry was for Zhao Mingyuan, expressing concern about the significant impact expulsion would have on Zhao Mingyuan and his family. After giving it much thought, Gu Zi Chen decided to help Zhao Mingyuan.

He went to the garage, the scene of the fight, hoping to find surveillance footage, but the owner told him the cameras had been broken for a long time. Unable to find evidence, Gu Zi Chen located Wang Zhi, the leader of the thugs who had attacked Zhao Mingyuan. Together, they went to the Principal's office. Gu Zi Chen dramatically declared to the Principal that the previous fight was not Zhao Mingyuan's fault.

Wang Zhi then supported this, stating that the conflict originated from Gu Zi Chen smashing his car at the garage, and since he didn't dare retaliate against Gu Zi Chen directly, he had targeted Zhao Mingyuan instead. The Principal was taken aback, realizing Gu Zi Chen had also been involved in property damage. Gu Zi Chen then offered to take full responsibility, insisting that if someone had to be expelled, it should be him.

He also assured the Principal that his father, Gu Wei Ye, would not blame the school and that all due compensations would be made. Wang Zhi further corroborated that he hadn't informed the police about Gu Zi Chen's involvement due to Gu Zi Chen's influential background. Convinced by their unified front, the Principal agreed to handle the matter impartially. Meanwhile, Zhao Mingyuan was being discharged from the hospital.

His friends, Chen Yuan and Zhu Cheng, were discussing how Gu Zi Chen had paid all his medical bills, making them deeply indebted. Zhao Mingyuan, though grateful, was irritated by their constant reminders and their suggestion that he stay longer to take advantage. Back in class, Zhao Mingyuan thanked Gu Zi Chen, promising to repay the medical expenses.

Gu Zi Chen, in a lighthearted manner to ease Zhao Mingyuan's pride, jokingly said he would charge interest, making the repayment feel more like a business transaction. Shortly after, Mr. Jiang Mu announced the school's revised decision: Zhao Mingyuan would receive a demerit, but would not be expelled. Zhao Mingyuan and his friends celebrated joyously. Despite the positive outcome, Zhao Mingyuan was puzzled by the change in the school’s stance.

He persistently questioned Mr. Jiang Mu, who initially resisted revealing the details, urging Zhao Mingyuan to simply focus on his studies and appreciate his friends' support. However, under Zhao Mingyuan's relentless questioning, Mr. Jiang Mu inadvertently blurted out that "one of them might even be expelled because of you." Pressed further, Mr. Jiang Mu finally disclosed the truth: Gu Zi Chen had taken Wang Zhi to the Principal's office and assumed full blame for the incident, potentially facing expulsion himself.

Zhao Mingyuan was stunned, feeling the weight of Gu Zi Chen's sacrifice. He silently left Mr. Jiang Mu's office. Distraught by Gu Zi Chen’s self-sacrificing act, Mr. Jiang Mu, determined to save him, decided to contact Gu Wei Ye, Gu Zi Chen's father, hoping his influence could avert the expulsion. Gu Wei Ye, upon learning of his son's actions, was furious and immediately ordered Gu Zi Chen home.

At home, Gu Wei Ye angrily confronted Gu Zi Chen, accusing him of constantly causing trouble and questioning if he deliberately sought expulsion to leave the school. Gu Zi Chen remained largely silent, only admitting his fault and stating he could handle the situation himself. He eventually clarified that he had grown to appreciate his time at QYU and was not trying to get expelled.

Gu Wei Ye, frustrated by his son's stubbornness and reluctance to confide, stated he would only intervene when Gu Zi Chen was ready to fully explain. Unaware of Gu Zi Chen's actions, Zhao Mingyuan approached Su Nian Nian, asking if she knew why Gu Zi Chen had taken the blame. Su Nian Nian was equally surprised, realizing Gu Zi Chen had kept this significant decision from her.

Feeling that she didn't truly understand him, she later confided in Ye Xing Yu, asking him to describe Gu Zi Chen's character. Ye Xing Yu explained that while Gu Zi Chen used to be rebellious, maverick, and stubborn, he was fundamentally kind, vulnerable, and deeply loyal. He added that Gu Zi Chen might appear impatient, but once he set his mind on something, he would see it through to the end. Su Nian Nian pondered this, acknowledging that this description largely aligned with her own understanding.
