Qin Wuya went to Miqin Mubei's room and thoroughly explained his plan. He had already set a trap for Yuan Zhongxin, intending for Yuan Zhongxin to die in it. Miqin Mubei inquired about Qin Wuya's preparations for the next day's trade negotiations. Qin Wuya planned to act during the negotiations, sparking a war between the two nations. Zhao Wangye would also be present.

Qin Wuya asked if he should spare Zhao Wangye, but Miqin Mubei, despite his affection for Zhao Jian, showed no mercy for her father. The following day, Zhao Wangye attended the trade negotiations. Mozang Baoli presented Xia's harsh conditions, attempting to force Zhao Wangye to sign them. Just then, Qin Wuya was called away. In the courtyard, he was surprised to see Yuan Zhongxin alive and well.

Furthermore, Zhao Jian had used a royal warrant to reassign Qin Wuya's trusted guards. It turned out that Yuan Zhongxin's feigned death was a clever ploy he had devised. He had skillfully evaded the fire, and with Zhao Jian's timely arrival, he narrowly escaped death.

Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian had already uncovered Qin Wuya's scheme: he not only murdered Lin Mosheng to silence him but also spread rumors in the market to incite hatred among Song people towards Xia, intending to cause a massacre at the trade negotiations and ignite a major war between the two countries. Seeing that his plot was exposed, Qin Wuya confessed his actions. At that moment, patrolling imperial guards arrived.

Qin Wuya attempted to order the guards to apprehend Zhao Jian and Yuan Zhongxin, but instead, the guards arrested Qin Wuya. Yuan Boqi also arrived. Zhao Wangye had not yet agreed to Xia's conditions. Inside, Qin Wuya's remaining men prepared to kill Mozang Baoli, following the original plan to incite war, but Xue Ying forcefully stopped them. Junior Wei also arrived shortly after.

It was revealed that the Section 7 members had already discussed their strategy for the day, acting in unison to uncover the mastermind behind Qin Wuya. Junior Wei escorted Mozang Baoli and his entourage to a private room, where dancers entertained them. Jing, disguised as a male servant, guarded Mozang Baoli and his party, ensuring they remained unaware of the commotion outside.

Junior Wei reassured Mozang Baoli that no one could break in, and Mozang Baoli, impressed by Junior Wei's generosity, called him "the first Junior Wei in Kaifeng" and thanked him. Section 7 successfully captured all of Qin Wuya's remaining men. Junior Wei then presented the newly negotiated terms for mutual trade to Zhao Wangye. Zhao Wangye was highly impressed by the favorable profit margins and the terms, which were affixed with the official seal.

He praised Junior Wei as the "lucky star of Song" and a commercial genius. Junior Wei seized the opportunity to request a small favor: that his firm be granted the exclusive right to provide all goods for Xia in Binzhou, establishing his business empire. Meanwhile, Yuan Boqi and Yuan Zhongxin pursued the fleeing Qin Wuya.

Yuan Boqi fanned out to search the perimeter, while Yuan Zhongxin returned to the guest house, where he intercepted Qin Wuya, who was attempting to kill Mozang Baoli. Yuan Zhongxin managed to protect Mozang Baoli, but Qin Wuya, consumed by murderous rage, decided to eliminate Yuan Zhongxin first before dealing with Mozang Baoli. Yuan Zhongxin's martial arts were inferior to Qin Wuya's. Just as Qin Wuya was about to deliver a fatal blow, Yuan Boqi and Zhao Jian arrived.

Yuan Boqi engaged Qin Wuya in combat and managed to apprehend him, but Qin Wuya committed suicide in front of Yuan Boqi. Miqin Mubei arrived belatedly. Mozang Baoli, however, did not attribute the incident to the Song people. Instead, he subtly implied that Miqin Mubei had the strongest motive for the assassination and demanded a thorough investigation by the Song authorities. Mozang Baoli expressed suspicion about Miqin Mubei's absence, to which Miqin Mubei claimed he was injured.

Mozang Baoli retorted by asking if Miqin Mubei was indeed plotting to kill him. After Mozang Baoli and Yuan Boqi departed, Zhao Jian took Yuan Zhongxin's hand, intending to leave with him. Miqin Mubei stopped the pair. He had heard that all members of Section 7 were present in Binzhou and proposed a competition. If Section 7 lost, Zhao Jian would willingly return to Xia with him as his wife.

Yuan Zhongxin vehemently refused to let Zhao Jian be a wager, but Zhao Jian confidently accepted, asserting that Miqin Mubei was destined to lose, as his opponents were not just Section 7, but the entire Secret Repository of Song. She noted Miqin Mubei was "bluffing purposely to cover up his real purpose." Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian then pursued their investigation into Li Zhen's whereabouts, uncovering his collaboration with Mozang Baoli.

Mozang Baoli had originally intended to use the Song people to diminish the influence of Ninglingge and Miqin Mubei, but his plan had ultimately failed. With Li Zhen no longer useful, Mozang Baoli ruthlessly eliminated him. Section 7 members later deduced that Mozang Baoli had kidnapped Li Zhen's family to force him to deliver information about Qin Wuya and Miqin Mubei, initially aiming to use Lin Mosheng to challenge Miqin Mubei.

However, Lin Mosheng's death complicated matters, drawing Section 7 into the fold. Mozang Baoli then pivoted to using Section 7 to expose Miqin Mubei, hoping to implicate Ninglingge and pave the way for Yuan Hao to depose the crown prince, thereby bolstering the Mozang clan's status. Later, Mozang Baoli received a letter and ventured alone to a secluded location, secretly followed by Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian.

Other Section 7 members discussed that Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian went alone due to urgency, the need to protect the caravans, and for a chance to be alone together. At the secluded spot, Mozang Baoli met a mysterious masked man. The masked man claimed to possess leverage against Miqin Mubei and proposed a deal. Mozang Baoli's sole condition was that Miqin Mubei "stay in Song forever," implying his death.

As Mozang Baoli and the masked man conversed inside, Mozang Baoli's attendants grew concerned by his prolonged absence and the lack of sound, realizing he was missing. Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian entered the room and unexpectedly discovered a secret passage. The masked man had escorted Mozang Baoli into a forest. There, the masked man removed his veil, revealing himself to be Yuan Boqi.

Brandishing a sharp blade, Yuan Boqi interrogated Mozang Baoli, demanding to know if someone within the Song army had secretly leaked the troop deployment maps to Xia before the battle of Qichuan Dazhai. Mozang Baoli eventually conceded, confirming the existence of a traitor and identifying him as General Zhou Xuan, who had sent a personal letter containing the deployment diagram.

He explained that Song's defeat in that war was inevitable, and the diagram was simply a bonus, making Zhou Xuan a useful informer. Mozang Baoli revealed that the letter was currently in Miqin Mubei's possession, and proposed to create a distraction the following afternoon to draw Miqin Mubei away, allowing Yuan Boqi to retrieve the secret letter. Observing from afar, Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian realized the full scope of the intricate plot.

Back with Section 7, the members discussed Yuan Boqi's independent investigation, presuming he acted alone due to his distrust of the court and his desire to shield Yuan Zhongxin from danger. They pondered the veracity of Zhou Xuan's betrayal. Yuan Zhongxin suggested that the truth would be revealed once the letter was obtained.

One Section 7 member suggested a collaborative effort with Yuan Boqi, though Yuan Zhongxin feared his brother would dismiss them from Binzhou if he knew of their involvement. Yuan Zhongxin then devised a new plan. The next day, Miqin Mubei feigned a lingering cough, seemingly from a prior injury. Mozang Baoli approached him, offering apologies for his earlier suspicions and recommending "Doctor Song of Chengxi Clinic," renowned for treating trauma.

Miqin Mubei initially declined, but Mozang Baoli insisted, emphasizing that refusing the doctor would reflect poorly on Xia's internal stability. Miqin Mubei reluctantly agreed to go. Simultaneously, Yuan Boqi received an urgent message from Zhao Jian, informing him that something had happened to Yuan Zhongxin. He immediately rushed to Yuan Zhongxin's side. Yuan Boqi found Yuan Zhongxin in bed, appearing gravely ill, spitting blood and losing consciousness.

The other Section 7 members explained that Yuan Zhongxin had been poisoned the previous day, having deliberately tasted the food first to warn others. They claimed he had forbidden them from informing Yuan Boqi, fearing his concern. Yuan Zhongxin, still feigning weakness, insisted his medicine would last for two hours, enough time to secure the letter from a wooden box.

Meanwhile, Miqin Mubei returned to his room, explaining to a guard that he needed to retrieve an important document he had almost forgotten to send back to Xia, stressing its political significance. Zhao Jian and Yuan Zhongxin, posing as Mozang Baoli and his entourage, managed to retrieve the letter. They narrowly avoided exposure by Miqin Mubei. Wang Kuan, who had gone to fetch a doctor for Yuan Zhongxin's feigned illness, was taking too long.

Xue Ying decided to go look for him, and Junior Wei offered to accompany him. Yuan Boqi confronted Yuan Zhongxin about his feigned illness, but Yuan Zhongxin explained his attempt to protect his brother. Yuan Boqi, however, insisted that as brothers, they would face challenges together.
