Young Blood Episode 37 Recap
> Young Blood Recap
Yuan Boqi painfully recalled the Qichuan Village battle of years past. He had escaped from a pile of corpses, saved by scouts who shielded him from arrows with their own bodies, never uttering a sound even in death. Now, Yuan Boqi lived not for himself, but for the nine thousand heroic souls lost. He had not killed Miqin Mubei earlier, not out of fear, but because he wished to prevent another tragedy where innocent people would suffer and die.
Yuan Zhongxin, hearing his elder brother speak of the past for the first time, understood the profound pain Yuan Boqi carried and encouraged him to live well. Liang Zhu learned of Miqin Mubei's arrival in Song territory and intended to assassinate him outside the guesthouse to avenge his brother. Despite his injuries, Miqin Mubei captured Liang Zhu. Since Miqin Mubei was a Xia general, Liang Zhu’s assassination attempt would be deemed treason.
Zhao Jian received this news and decided to negotiate with Miqin Mubei, hoping for a chance to save Liang Zhu if he conceded. The guesthouse was guarded by imperial soldiers. Yuan Zhongxin, aware of Zhao Jian’s intent to meet Miqin Mubei, did not insist on accompanying her. Instead, he chose to first interrogate Li Zhen.
Xiao Jing, confused by Yuan Zhongxin’s reluctance to follow Zhao Jian, pointed out that their mutual affection was obvious and that Miqin Mubei clearly harbored intentions toward Zhao Jian. She believed if Yuan Zhongxin actively pursued Zhao Jian, Miqin Mubei would pose no threat. Yuan Zhongxin, however, harbored reservations, telling Xiao Jing that marrying Zhao Jian would only bring her harm. Wang Kuan, Xue Ying, and Wei Yanei returned to the Zhao Mansion.
Xiao Jing worried that Miqin Mubei might request an imperial decree to marry Zhao Jian. Wang Kuan explained Miqin Mubei's current predicament: power struggles in the Xia court were fierce, with Miqin Mubei being a confidant of Crown Prince Ning Lingge, while his father served Yuan Hao, who was Ning Lingge's rival. Miqin Mubei was in a precarious position himself and could not simply request a marriage decree for Zhao Jian.
They decided to prioritize investigating any possible collusion between Miqin Mubei and the secret agents in Binzhou city. At the guesthouse, Mozang Baoli, a confidant of Yuan Hao, deliberately humiliated Miqin Mubei, who endured it silently. Zhao Jian arrived to ask for Liang Zhu's release. Miqin Mubei challenged Zhao Jian to a sand table battle, promising to grant her wish if she won.
Miqin Mubei, a young general with deep strategic insight and expertise in military formations, was impressed by Zhao Jian's intelligent and capable mind. He agreed to release Liang Zhu. Miqin Mubei then offered Zhao Jian a bright future in Xia, where he served Crown Prince Ning Lingge, and asked her to return with him to assist him. Zhao Jian unequivocally stated that even if the Secret Repository disbanded, she would remain a Song citizen and would never serve Xia.
As she left, Zhao Jian unexpectedly saw Wei Yanei cordially conversing with Mozang Baoli in the guesthouse courtyard. She confronted Wei Yanei, who claimed he was conducting business with Mozang Baoli under the guise of his father, Wei Zhuoran's, influence. Wei Yanei later met with Wang Kuan and Xue Ying, revealing that his true reason for approaching Mozang Baoli was to uncover the truth.
With Lin Mosheng murdered and the market in unrest, Wang Kuan suspected the root of these issues lay with the caravan trade. He believed that by going against the grain and befriending Mozang Baoli, they might discover the real motive of the killer. Given Prince Zhao's serious illness, Wang Kuan wished to keep Zhao Jian out of this dangerous affair.
Meanwhile, Yuan Zhongxin attempted to interrogate Li Zhen, but Li Zhen refused to reveal any information, only asking to be released. Yuan Zhongxin seemingly granted his wish, taking Li Zhen out onto the street and loudly proclaiming his name. Realizing his identity was now exposed and fearing for his life, Li Zhen agreed to return to the Zhao Mansion with Yuan Zhongxin and divulge everything he knew.
Li Zhen explained that Lin Mosheng had sought Captain Qin Wuya's cooperation for a large business deal but was refused. Lin Mosheng then hired ruffians to constantly follow Qin Wuya, hoping to find leverage. The ruffians observed Qin Wuya secretly meeting several unfamiliar men with hidden weapons. Lin Mosheng found this highly unusual and intended to suppress the information, but Qin Wuya discovered the surveillance.
Following the ruffians, Qin Wuya traced them to Lin Mosheng, leading to the massacre of everyone in the Lin household. Li Zhen, having sensed danger, had fortunately managed to escape before the attack. Yuan Zhongxin instructed Xiao Jing to ensure Li Zhen's safety. He suspected Qin Wuya's goal was to incite a war between Song and Xia.
Hearing this, Li Zhen, not wanting to be a sinner, disclosed another piece of information: Qin Wuya possessed a secret private residence where he would likely keep his hidden secrets. Yuan Zhongxin, wanting to shield Zhao Jian from danger, decided to go alone with Li Zhen to search the private residence. Upon learning of this, Zhao Jian rushed to the private residence with Xiao Jing. Inside the seemingly abandoned house, Yuan Zhongxin and Li Zhen began their search.
Yuan Zhongxin, however, quickly noticed anomalies in the room, realizing something was amiss. Just then, Qin Wuya's men, stationed outside the private residence, launched an attack, shooting arrows. Yuan Zhongxin understood they had fallen into Qin Wuya's trap. By the time Zhao Jian and Xiao Jing arrived, the private residence had been reduced to ashes by fire arrows. Yuan Boqi, also informed of the incident, hurried to the scene.
Imperial soldiers then carried out Yuan Zhongxin's charred body from the ruins. Later, Miqin Mubei met with Qin Wuya. Qin Wuya confirmed Yuan Zhongxin's death, stating that people at the scene identified the body. Miqin Mubei cautioned him not to underestimate the people of Secret Repository, even if they were young, warning that underestimating enemies could lead to one's own demise.
Qin Wuya confidently outlined his plan for the next day's trade talks: his men, disguised as Wuwei Army, would attack, falsely appearing to kill Xia royal family members by mistake while trying to maintain order. He believed Yuan Hao, enraged, would surely launch an attack, thus rekindling the war between Song and Xia. Miqin Mubei then asked about Prince Zhao, who would also be present at the trade talks.
Qin Wuya confirmed that Prince Zhao would be allowed to die, adding that he wanted to marry Zhao Jian, not her father, and that by removing her father, he would help Zhao Jian find her true self and freedom. The next day, Prince Zhao, feeling unwell due to last night’s events, entrusted the trade talks to his subordinate. He joined the Xia envoys and merchants, including Mozang Baoli and Miqin Mubei, at the Binzhou Hotel.
Qin Wuya was also present, overseeing security. During the discussions, Mozang Baoli presented extremely harsh terms for the Binzhou merchants. Qin Wuya aggressively supported these terms, demanding immediate acceptance. Just then, a soldier reported that "Princess Zhao" had broken into the hotel and was asking to see Miqin Mubei. As Miqin Mubei went out to confront her, he was met by Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian, both very much alive.
Yuan Zhongxin taunted Qin Wuya, revealing that his apparent death by fire arrows was a ruse. He explained that by carefully observing the materials, he realized the fire could not consume the entire structure, and he and Li Zhen had survived by lying low to avoid the smoke, gambling that help would arrive. Zhao Jian's timely arrival had saved them. Zhao Jian added that her father, Prince Zhao, had already transferred all of Qin Wuya’s soldiers from the courtyard.
Yuan Zhongxin further exposed Qin Wuya’s elaborate scheme: he had murdered Lin Mosheng to silence him, spread rumors to incite anti-Xia sentiment, and planned to assassinate the Xia imperial merchants during the trade talks to ignite a war. He even accused Qin Wuya of being willing to sacrifice his own son, Qin Yichuan, to advance his twisted agenda.
Qin Wuya admitted to sacrificing his son for a "great cause" and claimed control over the situation, but his attempt to turn the Wuwei Army against Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian failed. The Wuwei Army soldiers, having noticed irregularities in Qin Wuya's behavior, knew whom to trust. The rest of Section 7, Wang Kuan, Xue Ying, and Wei Yanei, also joined the confrontation.
Wei Yanei confirmed that he had been investigating Qin Wuya all along, and their coordinated efforts had allowed them to uncover the full extent of Qin Wuya's treachery. They revealed their plan to continue acting the part, with Wei Yanei, Wang Kuan, and Xue Ying staying within the hotel to stabilize the situation and prevent further assassinations, while Yuan Zhongxin and Zhao Jian would directly confront Qin Wuya and expose the masterminds behind him.
