After Shao Yuhan came out of the ICU, Mi Ka hurried over with Xiao Man’s medical file, hoping to get his advice. Shao Yuhan was in a rush to catch a flight, so Mi Ka walked alongside him, explaining Xiao Man’s condition and hoping he’d take a look. Shao Yuhan said Mi Ka was too emotionally involved with her patients, which was unprofessional. Mi Ka countered that if numbness was professionalism, she’d rather never be professional.

Shao Yuhan hesitated but ultimately took the file and asked for her contact information, saying he would reply after reviewing it. Though overly emotional wasn’t ideal, he admitted it was better than indifference. After seeing Shao Yuhan, Mi Ka rushed back to the training base. She ran into Xing Kelei again. As she followed him, someone at the base called out to him as “Captain Xing,” and Mi Ka finally realized the man beside her was Xing Kelei.

Xing, wearing a stern expression, ordered Shu Wenbo to ring the bell for an emergency assembly. After everyone gathered, Xing Kelei called out Zhang Qingqing and Chen Xiaoyan, who had faked menstrual leave to skip training. Having overheard their conversation, he knew they lied and ordered them to run ten laps as punishment. The two, guilty and scared, obeyed silently. Xing Kelei then lectured the rest of the group, reiterating the importance of discipline.

He mentioned someone had snuck out of camp that afternoon, though he didn’t name Mi Ka. He emphasized that they were a team—one person’s mistake meant collective punishment. Since they were fifteen minutes late to the assembly, everyone had to run fifteen laps. After the grueling run, Xing Kelei explained the purpose of this training and told them to take it seriously, announcing that real training would begin the next day.

While resting, Mi Ka complained about Xing Kelei to Xu Yanshan. Xu Yanshan was worried that Mi Ka had offended him and might not get her completion certificate. Mi Ka felt unsure as well and planned to apologize to him early the next morning. However, Xing Kelei stated that leaving camp without permission was grounds for expulsion. But he showed leniency—only deducting 30 points and recording a major demerit, warning her that next time, she’d be kicked out.

Mi Ka quickly promised there wouldn’t be a next time. Before she left, Xing Kelei told her to clean the toilets after training. Mi Ka agreed. After she left, Xing Kelei pulled out a greeting card from his drawer—it was a thank-you card Mi Ka had written him before. He was surprised at how fate had brought them together again. Because he had worn a mask during the rescue two years ago, Mi Ka hadn’t recognized him.

Because she was cleaning toilets, Mi Ka missed the time window for using the bath. Just as she was about to leave, Xing Kelei appeared and asked her to clean the bathroom as well, giving her the key. In fact, he just wanted to give her a chance to shower. Mi Ka realized this and appreciated his thoughtfulness.

The next day during training, Xing Kelei was scheduled for an interview but suddenly changed his mind and sent Shu Wenbo in his place, choosing to personally lead the training instead. During the lunch break, Mi Ka washed her hair. Xing Kelei even helped her pour water. When Mi Ka looked up and saw him, she was startled. As she tried to leave, she slipped and fell into Xing Kelei’s arms—just like when he had saved her two years ago.

The moment felt awkward. Mi Ka quickly explained she hadn’t meant to. While Xing Kelei was leading training, TV director Ruan Qingxia arrived at the base. Shu Wenbo received her and led her to the dormitory. However, when he lifted her luggage, it broke open and her belongings scattered everywhere. Shu Wenbo felt very embarrassed. Meanwhile, Mi Ka’s training wasn’t going well.

She believed she had passed the patient transport drill, but Xing Kelei had her lie on the stretcher to experience it firsthand. Only then did she realize her mistake and accepted the punishment. When returning her helmet to Xing Kelei, she let go before he could take it. Mi Ka explained her hands were shaking, but Xing Kelei reminded her that a surgeon’s hands must never shake. He told her to meet him at 2 PM for individual training.

It was the same line he had said to her two years ago, which made Mi Ka pause in thought. When Mi Ka went to train with Xing Kelei, Shao Yuhan called. He asked her to bring Xiao Man to the hospital for additional tests. Hearing it was about Xiao Man, Mi Ka immediately left, explaining she had urgent business.

At the hospital, Shao Yuhan told her that a foreign research institute had developed a new and effective drug for the disease, with complementary treatments available. But everything would have to be done overseas. He could help Xiao Man get the opportunity. Xiao Man hesitated, worried about the cost. Shao Yuhan explained that the medical expenses would be covered due to the research nature of the treatment, but living expenses abroad would need to be paid by Xiao Man.

Mi Ka encouraged her to go and promised to help with the living expenses. Mi Ka’s unauthorized departure angered Xing Kelei again. He decided to expel her as promised. Mi Ka tried hard to explain, but Xing Kelei insisted that discipline came first. If she could leave camp for personal reasons here, he couldn’t trust what she’d do in real danger.

Feeling wronged, Mi Ka said she would never walk away and that she truly wanted to learn—not just to get the certificate. This scene was witnessed by Shu Wenbo and Ruan Qingxia. Ruan Qingxia, being Mi Ka’s friend, came over to comfort her. That evening, while doing chores, Mi Ka chatted with Ruan Qingxia about her recent hardships. Just then, Shao Yuhan called and said he had found a charity willing to sponsor part of Xiao Man’s expenses.

With Mi Ka’s help added, Xiao Man’s treatment was now possible. Mi Ka was overjoyed and her mood improved greatly. The next day, Xing Kelei began wilderness training with the trainees. Each group was assigned a SWAT officer. Everyone was paired up—except Mi Ka. Xing Kelei glanced at her without a word and then led the team out.
