Shao Yuhan said he had misunderstood Xing Keyao before, thinking she was just putting on a show under the guise of disaster relief, but later realized she had done a lot of real work. He thought that after seven years, both of them would have changed, but some things about Xing Keyao remained the same. After returning home, Xing Keyao ran into Xing Kelei and Mi Ka, who had planned to go jogging.
Mi Ka didn’t feel comfortable telling Xing Keyao about their relationship and wanted to wait until she was ready, so Xing Kelei went along with her decision. After their workout, the two had breakfast together. Mi Ka reminded Xing Kelei that it was her first day back in neurosurgery and she couldn’t be late. She urged him to hurry and eat so she could get to work.
Xing Kelei said he had to return to the police unit that night and wouldn’t be back until next week. Seeing Mi Ka show no sign of reluctance, he felt a bit disappointed. Back in the neurosurgery department, Xu Yanshan didn’t seem very happy. When it was time, Shao Yuhan led the team on rounds. Xu Yanshan performed well, and Shao Yuhan specifically instructed her to assign some patients to Mi Ka.
However, Xu Yanshan ignored this and instead ordered Mi Ka to assist her. Mi Ka wasn’t upset and obediently accepted the tasks. That evening, Xing Kelei came to pick up Mi Ka from work. Mi Ka said she wanted to treat him to dinner. Xing Kelei, feeling a bit jealous about her previous meal with Shao Yuhan, insisted they eat at the same restaurant and have the same dishes as before.
Mi Ka, amused, ordered the same brain dish and told Xing Kelei to either eat that or finish all the other dishes. Xing Kelei chose the latter and ended up overeating, so he had to go back and train more. The next day, the Panther Commando Unit arrived for training exchange. Captain Hao introduced their leader, Zhuang Zhiwen.
The Tiger Unit’s reputation in the province made Zhuang Zhiwen feel a bit competitive, but Captain Hao instructed Xing Kelei to take good care of them, so they held back their frustration. After the morning session, Xing Kelei quickly finished lunch and went to video call Mi Ka. Shu Wenbo noticed he had forgotten his office key and returned to bring it to him.
They arrived just in time to see Xing Kelei talking sweetly to Mi Ka, and couldn’t resist eavesdropping. However, they accidentally made a noise, and Mi Ka, embarrassed, ended the call. Xing Kelei, flustered and annoyed, chased them away. Xu Yanshan and Shao Yuhan were discussing a patient’s case when Mi Ka came by to report that her patients had completed their tests. She was about to leave when Shao Yuhan asked her to stay and join the discussion.
He also asked her to follow up on the surgery scheduled for the next day. This made Xu Yanshan unhappy. From the conversation, Shao Yuhan realized Xu Yanshan hadn’t distributed any patients to Mi Ka and once again instructed her to share the workload. Xu Yanshan still looked displeased. Just then, Chen Tao came to ask her to a music festival that evening. She casually agreed.
However, she forgot all about it later and voluntarily stayed behind after work to do ward rounds with Shao Yuhan and even have dinner with him. Chen Tao saw this and left feeling very disappointed. Xing Keyao went to the hospital to find Shao Yuhan and said that the Spide Institute wanted to set up a branch in China.
The Spide Institute is a neutral academic platform that promotes medical research and technology application, and also manufactures some equipment for sale. They were looking for corporate partners to establish a branch, and Xing Keyao hoped to win the partnership and collaborate with Renxin Hospital. Shao Yuhan expressed his support but said the decision belonged to the hospital director. He also noted that working with them would require significant funds to purchase their equipment, but he agreed to do his best to help.
