Xing Kelei comforted her, saying that getting used to it didn’t mean being numb, and it wasn’t her fault. Mi Ka then asked if Xing Kelei blamed them for not evacuating Xinguan Village in time.
He replied that he didn’t—everyone was trying to save more people, and he understood their choice. The two enjoyed the rare quiet moment together, sitting in each other’s company for a long time. In Linjia Village, a landslide raised concerns of aftershock-triggered secondary disasters. Shu Wenbo quickly alerted everyone to evacuate. At the evacuation site, due to a shortage of tents, they had to rest on open ground.

After treating Han’s wounds, she realized she had forgotten her emergency bag and went back to retrieve it. Xing Kelei told the others to go up first and stayed with Mi Ka—but just after Han and the others left, another aftershock struck.
The mine collapsed again, blocking their original path. Fortunately, Xing Kelei had seen the layout plans and knew of another exit. But as they moved forward, Xing Kelei suddenly collapsed from exhaustion. Mi Ka checked and found he had a fever. Meanwhile, Li Nian led a rescue team down through the ventilation shaft to find them. Xing Kelei led Mi Ka to the alternate exit, but it was also blocked. Just as he reached for the walkie-talkie, the mine above began to shift again.
