Li Zhi rescued Kudi Liuli and thanked her for risking her life to deliver the message. Kudi Liuli returned to the familiar Mortuary, and Guizi and Fuzi cheered happily. Shun saw Kudi Liuli and was filled with mixed emotions of joy and sorrow. Sun Decheng rushed over upon hearing the news and, seeing Kudi Liuli alive and standing before him, was moved to tears. Sun Decheng and Shun were stunned to learn that Li Zhi had saved Kudi Liuli.

Sun Decheng was eager for Kudi Liuli to leave the palace, but she firmly refused, vowing to stay and avenge her mother. Kudi Liuli clearly remembered that eleven years ago, a palace maid from the Wardrobe Service came to her mother to modify the ceremonial robe of the empress. The needlework for embroidering the eyes of the pheasant bird was identical to Zhuo Jinniang's.

Kudi Liuli believed Zhuo Jinniang was the murderer of her mother, but Sun Decheng stammered, afraid to reveal the truth. Shun could no longer bear it and exposed Zhuo Jinniang's crimes of framing An one by one. Kudi Liuli gritted her teeth in anger, vowing to go to the Wardrobe Service to find out the truth and avenge her mother.

Guizi wanted to give Kudi Liuli some money to buy a chicken to celebrate, only to find his money was gone. Sun Decheng suspected Wei Lin's doing and told Guizi to check his luggage. Guizi found Wei Lin's purse in his box and discovered many treasures inside, not only Guizi's money but also the jade pendant Kudi Liuli gave to Shun, and An's belongings left to Kudi Liuli. Kudi Liuli then realized she had wronged Pei Xingjian.

Guizi suddenly remembered that Wei Lin had once inquired about Kudi Liuli's fondness for osmanthus cakes. Kudi Liuli concluded that Wei Lin was the one who sent the poisoned osmanthus cakes to the prison, but by an unfortunate coincidence, he poisoned the fat jailer instead. Just then, someone brought Wei Lin's body back. He had jumped into the lake and committed suicide out of fear of his crimes.

Sun Decheng immediately understood everything: because Wei Lin had committed too many evil deeds, he was silenced. Chamberlain Pan reported to Li Zhi about Wei Lin poisoning Kudi Liuli, and also reported Wei Lin's numerous crimes of being dishonest and stealing things from the palace. Chamberlain Pan repeatedly apologized to Li Zhi, and Li Zhi did not pursue the matter.

It turned out that after Wei Lin failed to poison Kudi Liuli, Zhuo Jinniang, fearing that the truth would be exposed, had already conceived the idea of harming him. Zhuo Jinniang lured Wei Lin to the lakeside, deliberately threw her handkerchief into the lake, and asked Wei Lin to retrieve it for her. While he was unprepared, she kicked Wei Lin into the lake, watching him sink to the bottom before leaving.

Since Wei Lin's death, Zhuo Jinniang had been feeling uneasy. She forbade Deng Qiniang from mentioning Wei Lin's name, always fearing Wei Lin's ghost would come for revenge, and she was terrified out of her wits. Chamberlain Pan had warned Zhuo Jinniang beforehand not to harm Wei Lin, but Zhuo Jinniang didn't listen at all and mercilessly killed Wei Lin. The Wardrobe Service was making new clothes for the concubines of various palaces.

Cairen Wu and Consort Yang's clothes had clashing colors, so Zhuo Jinniang told Bi to change Cairen Wu's color. Bi casually asked a few questions and was scolded severely by Zhuo Jinniang. After much deliberation, Kudi Liuli quietly reported to the Wardrobe Service. Zhuo Jinniang told her the rules of the Wardrobe Service, warning her not to make any mistakes, or she would lose her life.

Zhuo Jinniang arranged Kudi Liuli to sit at the very end and asked her to show her true skills to everyone. Bi voluntarily offered to compete with Kudi Liuli. Zhuo Jinniang made a harsh promise: if Kudi Liuli won the competition, she would be assigned to make clothes for favored concubines; if she lost, she would be sent back to the Mortuary. Kudi Liuli secretly vowed to win the competition.

Zhuo Jinniang set "The Queen of Flowers" as the theme, asking them to embroider a pillowcase before dark. Bi was determined to win. She meticulously traced patterns from a vase of flowers and then began embroidering. Kudi Liuli stared at the pot of flowers in a daze, delaying putting her needle to work, which made Deng Qiniang worry for her. Kudi Liuli pondered for a long time and finally started painting. Bi and Kudi Liuli completed their embroideries on time.

Zhuo Jinniang praised Bi's embroidery as lifelike. Kudi Liuli unveiled her embroidery, revealing a dazzling Queen of Flowers surrounded by stars. Zhuo Jinniang's eyes lit up, and the embroiderers were even more amazed. Zhuo Jinniang immediately decided to let Kudi Liuli stay in the Wardrobe Service and moved her seat to the front. The embroiderers were very dissatisfied and whispered amongst themselves.

Kudi Liuli thanked Deng Qiniang for her strong support and promised to do her best to help her in the future. However, Deng Qiniang didn't appreciate it, as Kudi Liuli had stolen all the limelight as soon as she arrived at the Wardrobe Service, making her fear she was nurturing a tiger that would cause trouble. Li Zhi sent his eunuch Yunhai to arrange a quiet residence for Kudi Liuli, and Kudi Liuli was very satisfied.

Because the silk threads sent from the palace were too fine, Zhuo Jinniang wanted to send someone to the West Market to buy some thicker threads. The embroiderers were all eager to go, but Zhuo Jinniang sent Kudi Liuli to make the purchase. Kudi Liuli did not want to make too many enemies. She went to Zhuo Jinniang to request a change of seat and also offered to hand over the purchasing task to other embroiderers.

Zhuo Jinniang clearly stated that the Wardrobe Service was a place where one earned a living by skill, advising her not to be a doormat. Kudi Liuli just wanted to do her duty well. Zhuo Jinniang remembered An had once said similar words, only to end up tragically, unable to even protect her own daughter.
