Unique Lady Season 3 Episode 7 Recap
> Unique Lady Season 3 Recap
Lin Luojing, fueled by anger, confronted Zhong Wumei, questioning his decorum and accusing him of forgetting their past promises, of being arbitrary, cold-blooded, and a heartless savage. She asserted that women are no less capable than men and demanded he leave her room, only for him to remind her it was his mansion. Lin Luojing then stormed out.
Zhong Wumei, left alone, was puzzled by his own reaction, noting that no one had ever dared to speak to him in such a manner, yet he felt no anger. Fleeting images from his past flickered in his mind. Later, Lin Luojing sat on a swing in the courtyard, now residing in the same room as Xi Que in the annex.
Xi Que tried to comfort her, urging her not to argue with the Prince, but Lin Luojing remained frustrated that even wearing the late imperial consort's garments had failed to jog Zhong Wumei's memory. A new idea then sparked in her mind: to recreate their first meeting. She imagined herself on the swing, singing in a white dress, Zhong Wumei watching with a smile, her falling, and him catching her, leading to him remembering everything.
Just as she was caught in this daydream, Zhong Wumei approached. Xi Que alerted her, and Lin Luojing began to sing loudly, though a bit nervously. Zhong Wumei, finding the noise irritating, turned to leave. Lin Luojing quickly chased after him, stopping him. Zhong Wumei, irritated, stated he had important matters and no time to waste on her.
Lin Luojing proposed a staring contest, promising that if they played, he would remember her, and she would no longer bother him afterward. Zhong Wumei agreed. As they stared into each other's eyes, rain began to fall. Lin Luojing became distraught, lamenting whether the entire world conspires against her when she tries to accomplish something, questioning the sudden downpour. Zhong Wumei then pulled her into a nearby grotto.
With his face close, Lin Luojing was overcome with sorrow and wept, heartbroken that he couldn't remember her despite her presence, and wondering if their shared happiness existed only in her memory. She cried out, calling him a "bad guy" for forgetting all their promises. Zhong Wumei gently wiped her tears. As thunder rumbled, Zhong Wumei clutched his head, as if moments of his past were resurfacing. He then comforted her, saying, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Later, Zhong Wumei asked Zhang Ji for information about Lin Luojing, and Zhang Ji reassured him of Lin Luojing's unwavering love and devotion, and how she had often risked her life for him. Zhong Wumei, hearing this for what seemed like the hundredth time, dismissed Zhang Ji. The System reappeared, congratulating Lin Luojing on unlocking the "Protagonist Favorability Meter." For the next 24 hours, she could monitor Zhong Wumei's emotional favorability towards her, allowing her to better strategize her approach.
She immediately chose to view Zhong Wumei's favorability, observing that while it was low compared to the past, it was steadily increasing. She encouraged herself to continue. The System then advised her to seek help from Jiang Xuanyu, explaining that her improved favorability with Zhong Wumei had unlocked the opportunity to interact with his friends, as previous low favorability had made Jiang Xuanyu inaccessible. Thrilled, Lin Luojing rushed to find Jiang Xuanyu at the Shi San Yu Costume Shop.
She explained Zhong Wumei's memory loss. Jiang Xuanyu, expressing his commitment to help, pledged to work with her to restore Zhong Wumei's memories, and they spent a long time discussing strategies to increase his "favorability." That night, Lin Luojing hid in Zhong Wumei's bed. When he returned, she popped out, playfully offering to serve him to sleep. Zhong Wumei was startled, his heart pounded, and he felt a sudden heat, leading him to believe his poison had relapsed.
He frantically grabbed a teapot and drank water. He told her not to approach, claiming his consort was Wen Ru Yu, and ordered her out, stating her actions were too strange for a lady. Lin Luojing asked if he truly didn't want her, then relented and left. Zhong Wumei initially called her back, but then dismissed her.
Observing his flushed face and rapid heartbeat from outside, Lin Luojing concluded that Jiang Xuanyu's method was effective, and teasingly declared her desire for "Xiao Zhong Zhong." Alone, Zhong Wumei pondered if the sweet memories Zhang Ji had spoken of were indeed true. The next day, Prince Liu Xiuwen made a grand, high-profile entrance into Sheng Jing, drawing crowds. Lin Luojing and Jiang Xuanyu were among the onlookers.
Lin Luojing noted a distinct change in Liu Xiuwen; his gentle eyes now held resolve and confidence, making him feel like a stranger. He approached her, declaring that he had finally returned and that this time he would not give in or show weakness, asserting that she belonged to him.
Soon after, two maids arrived at Lin Luojing's residence, reporting that Prince Qi Yu was scheduled to meet His Majesty, Zhong Wumei had been summoned to the court, and Wen Ru Yu had already departed, urging Lin Luojing to also attend. At the imperial court, Zhang Ji informed Zhong Wumei that Prince Qi Yu, Liu Xiuwen, had recently appeared in Sheng Jing under that title, but had previously served as Lin Luojing's personal bodyguard in the Prime Minister's Mansion.
Zhong Wumei then inquired about Lin Luojing's true character. Liu Xiuwen presented his formal greetings to the Emperor. He proposed opening Sheng Jing's trade routes to Qi Yu, advocating for mutual exchange. Zhong Wumei immediately interjected, labeling the request as audacious and unreasonable, citing Sheng Jing's historical trade policies and Qi Yu's former obscurity.
Liu Xiuwen responded by highlighting Qi Yu's recent advancements in trade and commerce, including their mastery of gunpowder production, hinting at the potential consequences if his proposal were rejected. Zhong Wumei retorted, emphasizing Sheng Jing's military strength and wealth, stating they would not be at a disadvantage in conflict. Liu Xiuwen asserted his intention was peace and stability, urging the Emperor to accept his "small request" to avoid the suffering of war.
Zhong Wumei continued to argue that the request was excessive. Liu Xiuwen then presented another condition: he demanded Lin Luojing. Wen Ru Yu, initially mistaking herself as the object of his request, expressed indignation, but Liu Xiuwen quickly clarified he sought Lin Luojing. Zhong Wumei vehemently refused, asserting that Lin Luojing was his personal medic and property, not to be arbitrarily given away.
Liu Xiuwen countered by promising to accept all previous trade conditions if Lin Luojing were granted to him. Zhong Wumei remained resolute, stating Lin Luojing was his, and he alone would decide her fate. At this point, Lin Luojing stepped forward, declaring that she was a person, not an object, and possessed the right to determine her own path.
She informed Liu Xiuwen that while she appreciated his concern about her welfare in Prince Yuan Zheng's mansion, her decision to remain was hers alone, and she currently had no desire to leave. Liu Xiuwen, respecting her wishes, accepted her decision but expressed his belief that she would eventually choose to go with him, subtly warning others not to cling to her when that time came.
Following the Emperor's initial suggestion for a protocol officer to escort Prince Qi Yu, Liu Xiuwen explicitly requested Lin Luojing's company. Zhong Wumei then volunteered to personally escort Prince Qi Yu on a tour of Sheng Jing. The Emperor approved this, specifying that Prince Yuan Zheng and his Consort would host Prince Qi Yu.
Wen Ru Yu, Zhong Wumei's consort, grumbled about having to accompany a prince from a "small place," privately wondering why Zhong Wumei had suddenly become so enthusiastic and insisted on including Lin Luojing.
