Unique Lady Season 3 Episode 19 Recap
> Unique Lady Season 3 Recap
Zhong Wumei asked Hua Yingchi how he and Lin Luojing became acquainted. Hua Yingchi quickly replied that he had stumbled upon Lin Luojing while she was being pursued by bandits, and a bond had formed between them. He added that he hadn't expected her to become the Consort of Prince Yuan Zheng in Sheng Jing. Lin Luojing respected Hua Yingchi's decision not to elaborate on their deeper connection, believing he had his reasons.
Zhong Ziyun then praised Hua Yingchi, stating that her Master possessed great power and intelligence. She recounted how he had tracked Jin Chen from Nan Yan all the way to Sheng Jing and heroically rescued Zhong Wumei at a critical moment. Lin Luojing remarked on Zhong Ziyun's "hardcore fangirl" devotion, noting that she admired Hua Yingchi for his inner qualities and extraordinary grace rather than just his appearance.
Zhong Ziyun admitted her regret for recklessly displaying the Crystal bead earlier, worrying that Master Hua Yingchi would dislike her for her mistake. Lin Luojing reassured her, explaining that her actions were justifiable given the circumstances. Zhong Ziyun confided that as a disciple of Tian Yi Clique, where she grew up with freedom, she found being a princess in Sheng Jing restrictive.
Her return was solely to find Hua Yingchi, and now that she had, she intended to return to Tian Yi Clique, as "wandering the world" was her lifelong aspiration. After bidding an emotional farewell to Zhong Wumei and Lin Luojing, she departed with Hua Yingchi. As they walked away, since she hadn't learned the flying technique, Zhong Ziyun shed tears, missing her royal brothers and everything in Sheng Jing.
Hua Yingchi comforted her by gently patting her head, an action that flustered her but also secretly delighted her. Back at their hideout, Jin Chen expressed his fury, lamenting that victory was so clearly at hand before Hua Yingchi appeared, making Xiaoyu's death seem in vain. Yi Yi, seeing Liu Xiuwen in pain, thought he was suffering from the poison and asked Jin Chen for the antidote.
Jin Chen clarified that Liu Xiuwen's injuries were from a fight, not poison, and he would recover with a few days of rest. Liu Xiuwen then produced the Crystal bead, offering a second deal to Jin Chen. He requested Han Shuang Xue's antidote and the records pertaining to the Crystal bead, promising to return the bead after activating it.
Despite being wanted by the entire city, Jin Chen agreed to provide one antidote and the records, acknowledging his predicament and the need for a fallback while also preventing Liu Xiuwen from turning against him. At Qi Yu's Palace, Liu Xiuwen, gravely wounded, was urged by Yi Yi to take the sole antidote they possessed.
He refused, insisting that she consume it as his body was more resilient, and Jin Chen's poison was particularly harmful to a woman's body over time, even with temporary medicine. Liu Xiuwen asserted he could endure until Jin Chen delivered the second antidote, after he used the Crystal bead to make Qi Yu prosper and grow.
He also reasoned that if he fell ill too, their entire plan would be done for, as he would need Yi Yi to help him return to Qi Yu if he turned the tables on Jin Chen. Meanwhile, Zhong Wumei, understanding that Hua Yingchi's connection to Lin Luojing was deeper than just that of a savior, expressed no jealousy. He confirmed that Hua Yingchi, like himself, sought to protect Sheng Jing and Lin Luojing.
Zhong Wumei warned Lin Luojing that Jin Chen was still at large within Sheng Jing, making their situation, especially hers, perilous. He then suggested they re-hold their wedding, believing the Emperor would no longer object due to Lin Luojing's recent significant contributions. Lin Luojing was overjoyed, eagerly planning details for a unique and personalized wedding dress by Jiang Xuan Yu, requesting it to be both dignified and waist-showing.
Zhong Wumei, however, insisted on a loose-fitting dress to prevent others from seeing her figure, and also expressed his desire for less involvement from Jiang Xuan Yu in their wedding preparations. Their conversation was interrupted by news that the Emperor had summoned Zhong Wumei to the Palace because he was dying. Upon arrival, the Emperor, Zhong Shi Li, affirmed his awareness of his impending death, revealing he had clung to life until the threat to Sheng Jing was neutralized.
With the threat to Sheng Jing neutralized and Jin Chen's plot exposed, he could now rest easy. The Emperor entrusted Zhong Wumei with the regency, asking him to assist the little Prince. He further decreed that if the little Prince proved incapable of leadership in the future, Zhong Wumei would inherit both the country and the Crystal bead.
The Emperor also expressed concerns about Lin Luojing's close ties to Qi Yu and its hidden forces, and Jin Chen's connection to Qi Yu, despite Jin Chen being exposed. His final counsel was for Zhong Wumei to trust no one, not even those he loved, before he passed away. Zhong Wumei was overcome with grief. Jin Chen, receiving word of Zhong Shi Li's death, rejoiced, viewing it as retribution for his father.
He was also pleased to hear that Zhong Wumei had been appointed regent, seeing it as an opportunity to gain control of Sheng Jing. He shared with Liu Xiuwen his ultimate goal: to use the Crystal bead's rumored power of reviving the dead to bring his father back, allowing him to return "upright" and reclaim his honor.
Liu Xiuwen, however, cautioned against such haste, reminding Jin Chen that they had not yet deciphered how to activate the Crystal bead and warning that rash actions could alert their enemies, especially since Jin Chen's initial revenge for his father was already achieved with Zhong Shi Li's death.
Jin Chen dismissed his concerns, declaring his willingness to destroy Sheng Jing entirely to avenge his father, who, despite his meritorious services that brought prosperity to the Zhong family, was unjustly beheaded for a minor transgression. Lin Luojing visited a sorrowful Zhong Wumei, who had been tirelessly arranging the funeral in the Palace.
Noticing his significant weight loss, she expressed her concern and apologized for being unable to assist him inside the Palace due to her former status as a criminal's daughter, even though it had been lifted. Zhong Wumei confided in her, explaining that having lost his parents young, his elder brother had always been like a father to him, patiently guiding him through his headstrong and willful phases, despite their occasional disagreements.
Lin Luojing reflected on Zhong Wumei's immense burden; at an age where he would be a college student, he was now responsible for the entire nation and the upbringing of the little Prince. Seeing his distress, Zhong Wumei apologized for having to postpone their wedding once more due to his new responsibilities.
Lin Luojing comforted him, assuring him that the wedding didn't matter and swearing that she would never let go of his hand, promising to face any future dangers with him and ensure he would never be alone.
