Su Wan, who had been forcibly removed from the Jufeng Storage Center for inquiring about a package and mentioning Manager Shen, believed the company was hiding something due to the employees' suspicious behavior. He covertly boarded a delivery truck and snuck into a warehouse, where he discovered numerous illicit goods. He immediately called Li Cu, but during the call, he was found and apprehended by the company's staff.

Bound by the illicit deliverymen, Su Wan cleverly bluffed, claiming intimate knowledge of their operations and even the whereabouts of their missing "Manager Shen" – supposedly in a refrigerator in his boss's warehouse. He knew details about Shen Shiyang, Shen Qiong's father, including his past and family, which unnerved the men. One junior employee panicked and revealed that Li Cu's package was encrypted and only their boss knew the password.

Realizing Su Wan knew too much and suspecting their own boss was also in trouble, the head deliveryman decided to kill Su Wan and abscond with the valuables. As they moved to attack, Yang Hao, driving a hearse, crashed through the warehouse doors with Li Cu, rescuing Su Wan. The deliverymen blocked their escape route with shelves.

Thinking quickly, Li Cu grabbed Su Wan's exercise book, ignited it with Yang Hao's lighter, and threw it into a box of firecrackers, creating an explosive diversion that cleared their path. They sped away as police arrived, leading to the arrest of many deliverymen, though their leader escaped. The trio interrogated a captured employee, who confirmed that the parcels were shipped from Mongolia. He also revealed that a "Mr. Li" had visited Manager Shen shortly before Shen's disappearance.

Li Cu realized this Mr. Li was likely his own father. After getting the information, they stripped the deliveryman, tied him to the door, and Li Cu took a picture of him. After the rescue, Li Cu left to contact his father's friends, as his father's potential involvement was critical. Yang Hao and Su Wan returned to the warehouse to secure it. As they approached, they heard a voice inside repeatedly calling "Li Cu."

Fearing it was a lingering threat, they decided to bluff, mimicking the voices of the apprehended deliverymen and pretending a large crew was with them. They entered cautiously but found no one. However, the disembodied voices continued, first seemingly scolding Yang Hao, then speaking about the mysterious puppets from Li Cu's packages, and eventually chanting a haunting Buddhist funeral prayer. Frustrated and terrified, Yang Hao began furiously searching the boxes.

He uncovered a black snake, which startlingly started to speak, then summoned many more black snakes. The talking black snake was aggressive, and soon more emerged, overwhelming Yang Hao and Su Wan. Yang Hao retrieved a fire extinguisher and used it to incapacitate the snakes, allowing them to kill them one by one. Su Wan, relieved, observed that the snakes didn't seem to bite. However, a particularly cunning black snake then appeared behind him and bit him on the neck.

Yang Hao swiftly drove it off with a shovel and rushed the unconscious Su Wan to the hospital. When Li Cu finally arrived, Yang Hao, furious and distraught, unleashed his anger. He rebuked Li Cu for his delayed arrival, emphasizing the mortal danger they faced, stating that he and Su Wan could have both died.

Exhausted and burdened by his grandmother's care, Yang Hao declared he was done with their perilous endeavors, asking Li Cu not to involve him in anything further once Su Wan recovered, promising only to keep silent about what transpired. Meanwhile, Huo Youxue confronted members of the Li and Qi families, holding them accountable for the severe damage her family had suffered.

She revealed that seven of her businesses had been shut down, a direct consequence of their collective actions against Zhang Rishan and their disloyalty to one another. The Li and Qi family members, claiming financial hardship, promised to compensate Huo Youxue for her losses after they profited from their next venture into GuTongJing.

Huo Youxue agreed but set a strict condition: once inside GuTongJing, both their families and their subordinates must follow her command, emphasizing the historical unity of the Nine Clans and the greater gains from cooperation. After they agreed, one of the bosses bragged about getting ahead in GuTongJing, leading to a physical altercation between the two men.

Zhang Rishan sought a meeting with Ma Ye, the representative of the Clan Chen, to negotiate access to GuTongJing, indicating he only needed to retrieve one specific item and was willing to pay any price. Ma Ye, however, challenged him, stating he would only agree if Zhang Rishan drank an entire pot of wine. Unfazed, Zhang Rishan swiftly flipped the table, dousing the room and Ma Ye's men in alcohol.

He then produced a lighter, ignited the spilled wine, declaring it his "greeting," and walked away while the Chen family scrambled to extinguish the flames. The escalating dangers surrounding Li Cu, particularly the revelations about his father's connection to the Shen family and his meeting with the missing Manager Shen, continued to mystify Su Wan and Yang Hao.

They struggled to comprehend why Wu Xie had drawn an ordinary high school student like Li Cu into such a complex and perilous situation, suggesting that Li Cu's own family history might be far more significant than it appeared.
