> The World of Fantasy Recap
Sword Holder Li Mu braved the raging blizzard in the Frost Land to seek an audience with the Master of Frost. Upon encountering snowwolves, Li Mu respectfully greeted the Master, mentioning his long-standing connection with the Snowwolf clan and the Master of Frost. However, the snowwolves bared their fangs and claws, indicating the Master's reluctance to meet. When two Frostwolf Guards attacked him, Li Mu drew his blade in defense.
He temporarily incapacitated them with his Sword of Wine, rendering them merely drunk, not dead. The Master of Frost, Bu Li, then appeared, using ice swords in a fierce attack, trying to make Li Mu retreat. However, Li Mu insisted that he had no choice but to respond to such a furious welcome, asking if she truly intended to keep or trap him there for a thousand years. Bu Li coldly asked who was the cruel one between them.
Meanwhile, Qin Lie and his companions were en route to Xingyun Pavilion when they were caught in the intense battle between Li Mu and Bu Li. Uncontrolled ice swords flew towards them. As Qin Lie was about to be injured, Ling Yushi instinctively manifested her spiritual power. Vines erupted from the vast snowfield, forming a protective barrier around everyone. Qin Lie and Du Shaoyang tumbled into a crevice.
To prevent falling into the abyss, Qin Lie desperately held onto the vines while gripping Du Shaoyang's hand. After their fight, Bu Li transformed into her human form and met Li Mu. They had known each other on the snowfield in their youth. Li Mu had once left Bu Li to break through his cultivation bottleneck, and now returned to find her.
He urged her to leave the icy wilderness with him, but Bu Li merely looked at him coldly, stating she had a condition. Li Mu recounted their past, how they met when she was an ordinary frostwolf, how he kept her by his side, and how he had to leave to advance his cultivation, almost bathing in the Central Golden Holy Light.
He noted their shared growth but pointed out her current cultivation stagnation due to her isolated existence, urging her to join him to truly understand humanity. Back at Xingyun Pavilion, Pu Jiao presided over the hearing regarding the murder in Ling Borough, with Li Zhong Zheng assisting. Pu Jiao, acting on Song Tingyu's instructions, aimed to reconcile the Ling and Du families, urging Qin Lie and Du Shaoyang to avoid further conflict.
Du Shaoyang denied killing Blacksmith Hua, leading to a heated exchange with Qin Lie. Li Zhong Zheng intervened, reminding Qin Lie that Du Shaoyang was the Young Master of Xingyun Pavilion, while acknowledging Qin Lie as a hero for killing the Soul Reaping Beast. Du Shaoyang proposed that Xingyun Pavilion or the Palace of Hell investigate the crime scene and body, as Li Zhong Zheng might be prejudiced since he came with Ling Borough residents.
Pu Jiao agreed, emphasizing mutual respect between them until the case was resolved. Later, Qin Lie reflected on Hua Yuxin, an outlander, who managed to enter the Silent Abyss to shield him from heavenly thunder, and how he vaguely saw Blacksmith Hua rescuing him while he was unconscious. He questioned his identity, powerful memories, why the Master of Frost had saved him, and his ability to repeatedly surpass his limits, believing only his grandfather could provide answers.
Ling Yushi reassured him, mentioning his grandfather's past heroics in repelling spirit tides and leaving peculiar array formations on Herb Mountain, as well as the eight pillars that channeled thunder to kill the Soul Reaping Beast, concluding that his grandfather was no ordinary person and might be deliberately concealing his whereabouts. Qin Lie, however, expressed his urgency to act and his intention to study artifact forging to infiltrate the Artefact Forging Sect and gather information about his grandfather.
Meanwhile, Du Shaoyang, still frustrated, went to a wine house, where he again encountered Xie Jingxuan, who introduced herself as Tang Siqi. She confessed her admiration for him, stating she wished for a proper relationship. Du Shaoyang, feeling bored, dismissed his subordinate and followed her to a room. Tang Siqi (Xie Jingxuan) danced and effortlessly exposed Du Shaoyang's inner struggles. Intrigued, Du Shaoyang insisted on seeing her true face.
She eventually removed her veil, revealing herself to be the blue-clad woman who had slapped him days prior. Despite realizing he had been tricked, Du Shaoyang enjoyed her company throughout the night, returning to Xingyun Pavilion with a contented smile. On his way back, Qin Lie suddenly appeared, intending to unleash his powers to avenge Blacksmith Hua. However, Du Shaoyang's guards arrived, forcing Qin Lie to abandon his plan.
This entire encounter was witnessed by one of Pu Jiao's subordinates, who promptly reported back, much to Pu Jiao's delight. Later, Qin Lie and Du Shaoyang met privately by the Luminous Pillars, discussing the day's events in the hall. They confirmed their shared suspicion that someone was orchestrating a conflict between their families, and that Blacksmith Hua's killer was not Du Shaoyang.
They admitted to staging a show to mislead Pu Jiao, aiming for him to unwittingly convey their message to Song Tingyu. Qin Lie suspected Song Tingyu was behind the scheme, wanting to eliminate both Ling Borough and Xingyun Pavilion while preserving her reputation. They acknowledged their inability to defeat Song Tingyu directly or seek justice from the Profound Heaven Alliance on Lofty Cliff.
Despite the challenges, they resolved not to passively accept their fate and decided to unite, alongside Gao Yu and Ling Yushi, to resist Song Tingyu and make her aware they were not easy targets. Qin Lie noticed Ling Yushi's ill health over the past few days, her face sometimes pale, sometimes flushed. He inquired if her Fire Poison was acting up, but she brushed off his concerns, attributing her fatigue to recent events.
She then suggested he visit the Spiritual Herb Street in Icestone City to find some medicinal herbs, as even the low-grade ones there were superior to those in Ling Borough. Qin Lie, excited by the idea, eagerly left to prepare, while Ling Yushi watched him go with a mix of thoughts. As Du Shaoyang was returning to his room, Liang Zhong intercepted him, revealing that Song Tingyu had overheard his and Qin Lie's "rebellion" plans.
Song Tingyu then appeared, disclosing the secret of the Luminous Pillars, referring to an ancestral teaching about the star and cloud being close, and light breaking sincere friendships. She explained that the pillars, built by powerful figures from the Profound Heaven Alliance three centuries ago, contained a potent energy intended to combat the Dark Nether Race if they invaded. Activating this power required the combined forces of Thunder and Starlight, guided by the Luminous Bead.
This power could instantly elevate a cultivator to the Netherpassage Realm, making them second only to her. Du Shaoyang's eyes gleamed with greed at the prospect. Song Tingyu stated her intention to eliminate Qin Lie while cultivating Du Shaoyang. She also discussed the upcoming 30-year Nether War, jointly supervised by the Profound Heaven Alliance and the Eight Extremes Temple. With Saintess Xie Jingxuan dead, the responsibility fell to Song Tingyu, who proposed Du Shaoyang assist her.
Du Shaoyang found himself torn between betraying Qin Lie and allying with Song Tingyu for immense benefits. Liang Zhong later questioned Song Tingyu about her true motives, specifically if she intended to sacrifice the people of Icestone City to conceal the truth about the Soul Reaping Beast.
Song Tingyu confessed her predicament: the Master of Eight Extremes Temple would be furious over Xie Jingxuan's death, and her own father, the Profound Heaven Alliance Master, would not forgive her for failing to kill the Soul Reaping Beast herself. Trapped, she saw no other choice but to eliminate everyone to bury the secret. Meanwhile, Li Mu and Bu Li, now in human form, had settled in the city.
Li Mu had found a small shop and named it "Li Ji," while Bu Li, despite her extraordinary beauty, wore simple clothes to blend in, as Li Mu explained that a true hermit hides in the busiest places to avoid drawing attention. The following day, Ling Yushi confronted Pu Jiao, directly accusing him of killing Blacksmith Hua and attempting to instigate conflict between the Ling and Du families. Pu Jiao adamantly denied the accusations, demanding proof.
Ling Yushi stated she did not have the evidence yet but warned him to cease his actions, vowing to find proof and present it to the Master of Xingyun Pavilion. She pointed out that Qin Lie, instead of trusting her, believed the Palace of Hell would uncover the truth, a notion Pu Jiao found laughable. Ling Yushi retorted that he was the ridiculous one, promising to find the evidence before exposing him.
