The World of Fantasy Episode 35 Recap
> The World of Fantasy Recap
Pan Qianqian lay on Ling Yushi's shoulder, deeply missing Yi Yuan. As she drifted off to sleep, she dreamed of Yi Yuan, a reunion where they expressed their love, knowing it was their final farewell. Though they exchanged barbs, neither could truly let go. Yi Yuan urged her to find someone else to love, someone who would treat her kindly, quarrel and play with her, and grow old with her.
Pan Qianqian, though heartbroken and shedding tears in her dream, agreed to seek such a person, asserting that this new person would be no less than him. Yi Yuan began to confess his feelings, but Pan Qianqian stopped him, reminding him not to utter those forbidden words. As Yi Yuan prepared to leave, Pan Qianqian, despite her heartbreak, bid him farewell.
Yi Yuan then told her that a person's heart can change, and one can love again, to which Pan Qianqian replied, "I know." Meanwhile, Du Shaoyang continued his cultivation deep within the Netherworld, his inner demons intensifying. He bristled at the thought of always being subservient to Qin Lie and always being at a disadvantage, growing increasingly discontent. He declared, "I am my own person. Don't you dare think that I would be less than you forever."
Chu Li, determined to find Qin Lie, was caught by Hua Tianqiong while trying to sneak off. Hua Tianqiong initially attempted to send him back home, but seeing Chu Li's unwavering loyalty and willingness to sacrifice himself for friendship, he disclosed Qin Lie's location in Ling Borough and allowed him to leave. Shortly after Chu Li's departure, Hua Tianqiong sensed the activation of the Six Heaven Fire Formation, a formidable trap.
He worried that Gongmu Shan and possibly Gongmu Hao were caught within it. His subordinate warned him that only the ancient Scripture of the Nine Hells could break the formation, making any rescue attempt suicidal. Despite the danger, Hua Tianqiong resolved to act, musing that sacrificing for loyalty was noble. He instructed his subordinate to keep a close watch on Du Shaoyang but to avoid intervention, believing their grievances should be resolved between themselves.
Qin Lie and Ling Yushi looked up at the dark sky, reminiscing about their shared past. Qin Lie confessed his deepest fear: as the day of Gong Mulie's awakening drew near, he worried that his current self, Qin Lie, would fade away, leaving behind those he cherished, especially Ling Yushi, and perhaps not loving her as deeply. He stated, "I'm afraid of losing you the most."
Ling Yushi reassured him, promising to remain by his side, whether he was Qin Lie or Gong Mulie, and stating she had no regrets. In a spontaneous act of devotion, they held hands and went to the deserted ancestral hall. Facing the empty seats, they bowed to heaven and earth, sealing their union. Ling Yushi explained that their happiness would bring joy to their ancestors.
Qin Lie spoke of his annual wish to the moon: to grow old with her, a wish now fulfilled. Ling Yushi then spoke of the ancient curse she cast to save him, which could only be broken if Qin Lie hated her. She declared she would never regret her decision, adding, "But I would rather die than let you hate me." Qin Lie proposed they perform one more act they would never regret, and Ling Yushi agreed wholeheartedly.
With the snow and ice as their witnesses and the wind and clouds as their matchmakers, Qin Lie and Ling Yushi of Ling Borough in the far north pledged their lives to each other, vowing to be together through everything, without regret, and sealed their promises with water as wine. Later, Chu Li appeared in Ling Borough, causing Qin Lie, who was not expecting him, to mistake him for an intruder and almost injure him with spiritual power.
Chu Li, recovering, apologized to Ling Yushi for "using her new house" after being hit. He then asked for their next move. Ling Yushi decided they should head to the Graveyard of Gods, their only lead to Du Shaoyang. Qin Lie instructed everyone not to intervene if they encountered Du Shaoyang, as he had his own plan.
He tried to persuade Pan Qianqian to stay in Ling Borough to avoid further danger, but she adamantly refused, declaring her regret at past departures and her intention to follow him wherever he went. Chu Li playfully mocked her tear-stained face, suggesting she was too vulnerable to join, but Pan Qianqian fiercely told him to shut up.
Meanwhile, Du Shaoyang, having fully embraced his role as the master of the Black Voodoo Cult and inherited all its voodoo insects, learned Qin Lie's location and led his disciples towards Ling Borough. He rallied them, reminding them that after ten thousand years of hiding, it was time to reclaim their glory using the ancestral voodoo insect. His disciples pledged their allegiance. The two parties converged on the vast snowfield. Du Shaoyang confronted Qin Lie, addressing him as "Master."
He recalled their first encounter ten thousand years ago, "when the moon was in its zenith." Qin Lie urged him to elaborate, stating that Du Shaoyang knew more about what happened between them ten thousand years ago. Du Shaoyang revealed his identity as a dagger, the very first spirit artifact Qin Lie had forged. He expressed his deep resentment at being an "insignificant dagger" instead of a powerful blade or protective armor.
Qin Lie explained that Du Shaoyang was originally a formidable weapon, shattered in battle, and he had painstakingly reforged its essence into a dagger to save it from ruin. He admitted that it was the best he could do and had promised to lead Du Shaoyang into battle. However, Du Shaoyang bitterly recounted that Qin Lie had never drawn him from his sheath, except once, when Ling Yushi had used him to stab Qin Lie himself, thus casting the ban.
He accused Qin Lie of using him in "the battlefield of love" rather than for war, and declared his current attack was to use Qin Lie's blood to compensate for his hatred and grievance from ten millennia ago. Qin Lie conceded that he understood Du Shaoyang's bitterness and offered his own blood to cleanse the anger, deliberately enduring Du Shaoyang's attack without fighting back. Ling Yushi, seeing three Ghost Eye Race members fleeing, instructed Pan Qianqian to save them.
As Qin Lie bled, Ling Yushi came forward to heal his wounds. Qin Lie then admitted that he had long known Du Shaoyang was his spirit artifact, but had harbored doubts about their complex relationship, wondering about Du Shaoyang's repeated betrayals and his own apprehension. He acknowledged that he had failed Du Shaoyang both ten thousand years ago and in the present.
He told Du Shaoyang that if he didn't wish to be a dagger, he could simply be Du Shaoyang, a person. Qin Lie added that if he had the choice, he would rather be Qin Lie than Gong Mulie. Du Shaoyang, asserting his desire to be a human with all the emotions and joys of life, declared that they were no longer indebted to each other, and they would go their separate ways, hoping to never cross paths again.
Suddenly, the surroundings warped, and they found themselves in a different setting, with ancient venerables attacking Jiang Yan, the Voodoo Master. Jiang Yan recognized them as "people from ten thousand years later," explaining that he had buried the First Voodoo Insect's power in the Spirit Realm to await a chosen person to bring them back and save him from his current predicament. Du Shaoyang, enraged at being manipulated, vowed to kill Jiang Yan.
Ling Yushi, realizing that her Power of Earth was inexplicably useless and the sand beneath her feet felt chillingly cold, suspected a deception. She asked Qin Lie to cover her while she delved into Jiang Yan's consciousness, wanting to understand his mind and uncover the truth. Meanwhile, Pan Qianqian and Chu Li had caught up with the three Ghost Eye Race members.
Chu Li, intent on using his Terminator Profound Bomb to "help them repent," was fiercely stopped by Pan Qianqian, who reminded him of Ling Yushi's command to save them. The bomb, though stopped from a fatal blow, still detonated, killing the voodoo insects within the Ghost Eye Race members, who promptly demanded compensation. When Chu Li suggested they now bomb Du Shaoyang, the three quickly revealed that it was not Du Shaoyang's doing but Night Fairy's.
Within Jiang Yan's consciousness, Ling Yushi encountered Night Fairy, who acknowledged that her illusion had been discovered. Ling Yushi explained her deductions: the Power of Earth's failure, the unexpected coldness of the "sand" (which she reasoned was ice and snow, consistent with Ling Borough in the far north), and the realization that they had never left Ling Borough, and the "ten thousand years ago" was a mere illusion.
The final clue came when "Jiang Yan" had urged Du Shaoyang, a spirit artifact, to return to his master. Ling Yushi questioned how Jiang Yan, the Voodoo Master, would possess such specific knowledge. She ultimately concluded that the intense resentment she felt emanating from "Jiang Yan" could only belong to Night Fairy. Night Fairy, impressed by Ling Yushi's intelligence, expressed a playful fear that Ling Yushi might cease to hate her. Ling Yushi, now certain of Night Fairy's involvement, pressed her for her true intentions.
