Fu Sheng did not give Shen Li a quick death. One by one, he drove nails into each of Shen Li’s joints. The third prince watched, terrified, while Shen Li gritted her teeth and did not utter a sound. Fu Sheng grinned viciously, but suddenly his body showed a trace of spiritual power. Mo Fang desperately suppressed Fu Sheng, stopping himself from further tormenting Shen Li, and fled in panic.

After Fu Sheng left, Shen Li urged the third prince to escape quickly and deliver news of the North Sea’s invasion to the Immortal Realm. However, the third prince was too afraid. He feared that if he failed to escape, he would be caught by Fu Sheng and suffer the same torture as Shen Li. Shrinking back, he said he was not as brave as she was, and that his mother was an unloved concubine.

He had no trusted allies in the North Sea and was afraid he would not be able to summon reinforcements. When Mo Fang regained a bit of clarity and before Fu Sheng could repossess him, he immediately rushed to rescue Shen Li. Seeing a chance to escape, the third prince quickly fled as well. Mo Fang dared not delay and carried Shen Li away to a hidden mountain stream.

Seeing that malevolent energy was still searching the skies for their aura, Mo Fang held Shen Li tightly, wanting to remove the nails from her body. However, Shen Li appeared to be in extreme pain, and he dared not act rashly. To prevent Fu Sheng from finding her, Mo Fang knelt before Shen Li and apologized for his past actions. At that moment, Shen Li could hear Mo Fang’s voice, and her vision blurredly made out his figure before her.

Her heart ached with both pain and sorrow—pain because a comrade who had once fought alongside her to the death was now rescuing her, and sorrow because Mo Fang had betrayed the Spirit Clan, causing the deaths of so many Spirit Clan generals. From that moment, she and Mo Fang were enemies. Mo Fang still needed to divert Fu Sheng’s spies, so he had to temporarily leave Shen Li hidden.

Not long after, Shen Li’s blood flowed into the Eastern Sea. Xing Zhi, who had originally decided to fast to death, caught the scent of her blood in the seawater. Feeling Shen Li’s life force, he immediately followed it and found her lying motionless on a rock, covered in blood but still barely alive. Xing Zhi was overwhelmed with emotion and wept, murmuring that Shen Li had saved his life. Xing Zhi carried the unconscious Shen Li back.

During the journey, Shen Li, unable to hear or see, mistook the one holding her for Mo Fang. She refused to let “Mo Fang” approach again and harshly declared that from now on, they were enemies and that on the battlefield, she would show no mercy. Xing Zhi realized that Shen Li had mistaken him for someone else. Seeing her in such pain, he guessed most of the truth.

To prevent the heavily injured Shen Li from struggling and hurting herself further, he remained silent, holding her gently and offering silent comfort. When Shen Li awoke again from her coma, she suddenly regained a faint sense of smell. Smelling the scent of seawater on him, she assumed he was a fisherman. Knowing that Shen Li only had her sense of smell, Xing Zhi obeyed everything she said to avoid upsetting her emotions.

From then on, he carefully cooked meals for her three times a day and personally cared for her by her bedside. When Shen Li felt slightly better, she asked the "fisherman" to help remove the black iron nails embedded in her body. Worried that he might be distressed by the bloody scene, she thoughtfully instructed him to pull them out quickly without worrying about her feelings.

Dozens of black iron nails were embedded in Shen Li’s body, and removing them was extremely difficult. Xing Zhi used his immortal arts to stabilize her heart meridians.
