Mu Chen and Qin Tian arrived at the Heaven Palace Grand Hall, engaging in a fierce battle with Lu Heng. Despite the prolonged fight, Lu Heng's strength remained formidable, a clear sign that he was fully under the Evil Deity's control. Qin Tian, having just regained his consciousness and with his spiritual power not yet fully recovered, attempted to reason with Lu Heng, reminding him of their shared past and their oath to the God of Heaven.

However, the Evil Deity’s voice interjected, urging Lu Heng not to be swayed and to remember the source of his immense power. Sensing the Futu Pagoda within Mu Chen, the God of Heaven recognized him as Qing Yanjing’s son. He instructed Mu Chen to draw the Heavenly Sword by his side, stating that only Mu Chen could now stop Lu Heng.

With a solemn vow to his mother, Mu Chen drew the sword, and with a decisive strike, he defeated Lu Heng. As the Evil Deity's influence receded, Lu Heng regained his senses. In his final moments, he apologized for his actions and pleaded for the God of Heaven’s forgiveness.

The God of Heaven absolved him, lamenting his own misjudgment of the Evil Deity's malevolence and recalling how Mo Ketian, five thousand years prior, had been consumed by the greed for power. Lu Heng then remembered the day the God of Heaven personally bestowed his helmet and the Whistle of Heaven upon him, expressing it as the most glorious day of his life, before confessing he had lost the Whistle of Heaven.

Qin Tian, mourning his fallen comrade, reflected on their five millennia of brotherhood and how they had become like family. With everyone calling out his name, Lu Heng succumbed to his severe injuries and passed away. The God of Heaven confirmed Mu Chen as the chosen master of the Heavenly Sword and the future ruler of the Great Thousand World.

Mu Chen, however, declared his primary goal was to defeat the Evil Deity, rescue his mother, and reunite his family, adding that bringing peace to the world by freeing people from evil's oppression would be a blessing. He expressed no desire to rule. The God of Heaven acknowledged Mu Chen’s humility, noting that pursuing small, meaningful goals could indeed lead to greater achievements.

He urged Mu Chen to always prioritize the well-being of all living beings, foretelling that one day, Mu Chen would wield the power of the heavens to achieve lasting peace. Having imparted his lifelong cultivation and the Triple Purity spell to Mu Chen, the God of Heaven entrusted him with the mission to save all lives in the world. He then revealed that Qing Yanjing was trapped in the Dragon Den, located in the deepest part of the Heaven Palace.

He warned that her spiritual power was rapidly weakening and that Mu Chen must act swiftly, as time for their reunion was scarce. With these final words, the God of Heaven faded away. Man Tuluo, having fulfilled her purpose as a mandala flower planted by the God of Heaven, transformed back into a flower, requesting Mu Chen to visit and water her once peace was restored.

Mu Chen, now imbued with the God of Heaven’s power, promised that day would come soon. Mu Chen then used his new power to heal Mu Feng and Qingshan. However, he discovered Luo Li’s spiritual power was dangerously low, less than one-third of its full capacity.

Qingshan recalled that only a Luo God Clan Saintess could summon the Spirit of Luo, a being that could answer any question, but at the cost of immense spiritual power, leading to severe damage that was difficult to recover from. He deduced that Luo Li must have used this precious opportunity to locate the Futu Ancient Clan. Confirming his suspicion, Luo Li admitted her sacrifice.

Mu Chen, deeply moved, healed her injuries and embraced her, questioning why she had been so reckless. General Qin Tian, along with the Heaven Soldiers who had been purified by Mu Chen, knelt and pledged their unwavering loyalty to Mu Chen as the Heavenly Sword’s successor and the new ruler. Mu Chen, though appreciative, humbly declined the title of ruler, emphasizing that his goal remained to rescue his mother.

He declared that while he was merely a comrade in their fight against evil, he would wholeheartedly fight alongside them to defeat the Tuling Guards and the Evil Deity. Meanwhile, the Evil Deity, aware of the God of Heaven's demise and his own seal loosening, ordered Wen Qingxuan and Liu Mubai to accelerate their process of refining evil spirits to resurrect him. Wen Qingxuan, sacrificing the spiritual power of captured Heaven Soldiers, further advanced the Evil Deity's resurgence.

The Evil Deity then visited Qing Yanjing, taunting her with the news of the God of Heaven’s death and asserting that her imminent demise would mark his complete rebirth. He severely reprimanded Liu Mubai for allowing Mu Chen to cross the Heaven River, warning him that future failures would be met with lethal consequences. As punishment, Liu Mubai was ordered to strictly guard the Dragon Den and ensure Mu Chen did not leave alive.

Mu Chen discussed the grim situation with Qin Tian, learning that many Heaven Palace guardians had been taken to the Xuantian Altar to be sacrificed for the Evil Deity’s resurrection. Mu Chen proposed a two-pronged strategy: Qin Tian would lead a group to the Xuantian Altar to rescue any uncorrupted Heaven Palace guards, while Mu Chen himself would lead another to the Dragon Den to save his mother.

Qin Tian described the Dragon Den as a treacherous place, originally designed by the God of Heaven to destroy demonic souls, shrouded in corrosive mist and guarded by the formidable Dragon Formation, with no known method to break it. He recounted how, ten years ago, Futu Xuan had colluded with an Evil Deity imposter to trap Qing Yanjing there, leading to her prolonged suffering. Mu Feng, upon hearing this, expressed deep remorse for not knowing his wife's plight.

Mu Chen, assigning Shen Cangsheng, Sun’er, Qingshan, Luo Li, and Li Xuantong to assist Qin Tian at the altar, insisted on heading to the Dragon Den with Jiuyou. Despite Mu Chen's initial protective stance, Mu Feng insisted on accompanying them. Tang Qian’er likewise insisted on joining Mu Chen, vowing to resolve her conflict with Liu Mubai herself. Upon reaching the Dragon Den, Mu Chen's group encountered Liu Mubai guarding the entrance.

Tang Qian’er confronted Liu Mubai, threatening to harm herself with a dagger if he did not allow Mu Chen and her father to enter. Despite his reluctance and attempts to manipulate her into believing they were using her, Liu Mubai yielded and ordered the Tuling Guards to stand down. Mu Chen instructed Jiuyou to stay outside and protect Tang Qian’er, while he and Mu Feng entered the den.

Mu Feng tearfully reunited with Qing Yanjing, apologizing for his long absence and her suffering. Mu Chen, meeting his mother for the first time, expressed his deep regret for not being a dutiful son. Qing Yanjing, though joyful to see them, urged them to leave, warning that the Dragon Formation was unbreakable and attempting to force it would lead to dire consequences. Mu Chen, however, remained resolute in his determination to rescue her.

Outside, Tuling Guards attempted to attack Tang Qian’er, but Liu Mubai intervened, saving her and carrying her away, leaving Jiuyou to fend off the remaining guards. Meanwhile, Qin Tian, Shen Cangsheng, Luo Li, and the others arrived at the Xuantian Altar. Qin Tian cautioned them about the inherent dangers of the altar, describing it as a powerful protection circle personally created by the God of Heaven.
