Upon Gu Chengze's persistent questioning, Secretary Gao recounted the entire story of how he met his new girlfriend. That very night, when he accompanied Gu Chengze to the bar to find Li Yanshu, it happened to be his girlfriend's birthday. Due to work, Secretary Gao was late, and his girlfriend became an ex-girlfriend. Later that evening, he found a young woman named Qiao Na, heavily intoxicated and unconscious, on the street.

Having no other choice, he took her in for the night. From that point on, Qiao Na developed an interest in Secretary Gao and seemed to follow him everywhere. Qiao Na, an aspiring writer gathering material for her novel, pressed Secretary Gao for interesting stories. He shared many details about Gu Chengze, which Qiao Na diligently recorded, planning to incorporate him into her novel.

Secretary Gao detailed Gu Chengze's famously low emotional intelligence, his intolerance for lies, and his extreme mysophobia, which led to a former employee being fired for a minor transgression. Qiao Na was fascinated and, realizing Secretary Gao was describing Gu Chengze, decided to title her novel "When the CEO Falls in Love." To prevent her from writing about him, Secretary Gao reluctantly agreed to go on dates with her, thus inexplicably acquiring a new girlfriend.

Gu Chengze then probed Secretary Gao, wondering if speaking ill of him had been the secret to finding a girlfriend. In an effort to better understand Li Yanshu, Gu Chengze overcame his mysophobia and began secretly photographing her belongings in her room when she was out. He compiled a detailed list of these items and excitedly presented it to Gu Jinyun, who, overjoyed, gave Gu Chengze a kiss, much to Gu Chengze's discomfort.

Later, Gu Chengze took Li Yanshu to a store, attempting to discover her preferred skincare products. When Li Yanshu revealed she couldn't afford her favorite brands and simply used what was available, Gu Chengze, undeterred, insisted on buying her the most exquisite items the store had to offer. Despite Gu Chengze's detailed list, Gu Jinyun failed to genuinely connect with Li Yanshu, realizing the information was superficial.

He accompanied her to an art exhibition, where Li Yanshu subtly corrected his mistaken identification of the artist as Leano, clarifying it was Renoir and that exhibition was in an adjacent hall. Just then, Han Junyao appeared, feigning surprise. She immediately began to taunt Li Yanshu, accusing her of shamelessness and warning Gu Jinyun not to be deceived by her again. Gu Jinyun, frustrated, retorted that Han Junyao was more annoying than his grandmother and should mind her own business.

Later, back at home, Li Yanshu inadvertently stumbled upon the agreement Gu Chengze and Gu Jinyun had signed. Reading its contents, she was enraged to discover that she was merely a "tool" designed to coax Gu Jinyun back to work. She realized that Gu Chengze's recent interest in understanding her was solely to assist Gu Jinyun, making her feel used and leading her to consider a plan for retaliation. Shortly after, Gu Chengze returned with a variety of night snacks.

He told Li Yanshu that Gu Jinyun had personally waited three hours in line to buy them for her, implying they were all her favorites. Li Yanshu picked up her chopsticks but hesitated to eat, remaining silent and leaving Gu Chengze perplexed by her lack of appetite.
