The Comic Bang Episode 31 Recap
> The Comic Bang Recap
Zuo Qiandai’s crisis management was a great success. She quickly helped Ye Qi resolve his crisis. Moreover, thanks to Zuo Qiandai’s successful counterattack, the comic exhibition also took a keen interest in Ye Qi. However, the comic exhibition typically only features major serialized works, and Ye Qi’s comic had just started with very few chapters. Gong Jian hoped Ye Qi could work a little harder to publish more during this period so he’d be qualified to join the exhibition.
But since the final exams were approaching, Ye Qi had to prioritize his studies, and Gong Jian couldn’t do much about it. To avoid falling behind in his studies while also meeting his deadlines, Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai, and Chai Ziyu worked together to find a solution. The three of them discussed how to study more efficiently in the library and happened to spot a top student.
They approached him for shortcuts in exam prep, but couldn’t understand a word of what he said. After leaving the library, the three were still confused. Ye Qi cherished the time he spent brainstorming plots with the other two. Prompted by Chai Ziyu, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai recalled an old storyline they could use and quickly went to retrieve it.
It turned out the script they had in mind had previously been rejected not because it was bad, but because Qian Ye had been too autocratic. Everyone began modifying the old script. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, Ye Qi’s comic updated continuously and reached the required submission count. When finals were finally over, everyone relaxed.
Zhou Jieyue complained to Zuo Qiandai that Jiang Ruosong had changed her game password without her permission out of concern for her health, which made her furious. As she was venting, Jiang Ruosong ran over to apologize. Although Zhou Jieyue insisted she wouldn’t forgive him, in truth, she had already accepted his apology in her heart. Lu Dao approached Gu Zhengxing and suggested they go on a trip together during the break.
Gu Zhengxing told her about working on the comic with Ye Qi’s team and said they were planning to attend the comic exhibition together. Ye Qi was also preparing gifts for fans with the group. To keep up with Gu Zhengxing, Lu Dao began reading Ye Qi’s comics to understand the content and have more in common with him. Zhou Jieyue visited Ye Qi’s house looking for Jiang Ruosong, but he wasn’t there.
She complained to everyone that Jiang Ruosong limited her to playing games for only three hours a day. Everyone advised her to be more understanding, and Ye Qi even suggested making a Jiang Ruosong doll for her to carry around. As the comic exhibition neared, a new problem emerged. Since Ye Qi’s comic was in the shoujo (girl’s) genre, the promotion had intentionally portrayed the author as resembling a teenage girl.
If fans found out on the meet-and-greet day that the author was actually a man, many would be disappointed. So, everyone discussed how to handle the situation. Lu Dao excitedly brought a cake for Gu Zhengxing, having added brandy to improve the flavor. Ye Qi couldn’t hold his liquor and got completely drunk after just a bit. In his drunken state, Gu Zhengxing blurted out how much Lu Dao meant to him and revealed his true feelings.
Lu Dao was deeply moved. That evening, Ye Qi walked Zuo Qiandai home. They strolled and chatted, encouraging each other. The next day, Ye Qi invited his buddies to his house.
