The Comic Bang Recap

Episode 1 Recap

Zuo Qiandai mustered up her courage and decided to confess her feelings to Ye Qi. However, when she saw Ye Qi, the words she had prepared got stuck in her throat, and in the end, she didn’t confess that she liked him. She only admitted to being his fan, and just like that, her first confession came to an end. Ye Qi, being considerate, gave Zuo Qiandai a signed piece of paper.

Her first attempt at a confession unexpectedly turned into a fan encounter. Looking at the signed paper, Zuo Qiandai wanted to explain further, but Ye Qi suddenly invited her to come home with him, which left her pleasantly surprised. When she arrived at Ye Qi’s home, Zuo Qiandai found herself inexplicably in Ye Qi’s room. Watching him change clothes right in front of her left her stunned, and she even had the urge to flee.

But she was also worried that if she left, Ye Qi might bring another woman in—she couldn’t bear the thought of the man she loved being taken by someone else. Just as she was hesitating, Ye Qi had already finished changing and came out. As Zuo Qiandai stood there feeling helpless, Ye Qi asked her to help him sketch. It was then that Zuo Qiandai realized Ye Qi was actually a painter.

She had noticed the bruises on his wrist and around his eyes and thought he was a troubled youth—this was what had drawn her to him. However, after Ye Qi explained, she learned the bruise around his eye was from staying up late to draw, and the wrist injuries were from repetitive strain due to his drawing habit. Back home, Zuo Qiandai looked at Ye Qi’s autograph and discovered he was actually a very famous manga artist.

She often criticized his comics online, which now left her feeling awkward and at a loss. The next day, while riding the bus to school, her mind was filled with thoughts about how her relationship with Ye Qi might develop and how she should explain herself to him. At school, Zuo Qiandai kept secretly observing Ye Qi. Every time they met, she would immediately run away.

Ye Qi, having noticed Zuo Qiandai’s talent, thought she didn’t want to be his assistant, but still wanted to sincerely invite her. So he kept chasing after her, while Zuo Qiandai kept fleeing, thinking Ye Qi wanted to get someone to teach her a lesson and kept pleading to be let go. Ye Qi, on the other hand, believed she simply didn’t want to be his assistant and continued earnestly asking for her help. Eventually, the misunderstanding was cleared up.

Zuo Qiandai realized that Ye Qi wanted to invite her to be his assistant and had no idea about the things that happened online. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai rode a tandem bike together, trying to find inspiration along the way. During a break, Ye Qi took out his sketchbook and began drawing again. His passion for manga changed Zuo Qiandai’s opinion of him—she no longer criticized him for still hand-drawing comics in the modern age.

Once again, Zuo Qiandai tried to probe into Ye Qi’s private life. Since he always drew sweet romance comics, she assumed he must have dated many girls. But Ye Qi had never been in a relationship. Upon learning he was still single, Zuo Qiandai was delighted. Watching Ye Qi concentrate so intently on drawing, Zuo Qiandai wanted to confess her feelings again, but when it came time to say those three words, she still lacked the courage.

At that moment, Ye Qi once again took out his notebook and wrote her another signed note. Looking at the autograph, Zuo Qiandai gave an awkward smile. In the end, she agreed to become Ye Qi’s assistant.

Episode 2 Recap

At night, Zuo Qiandai continued helping Ye Qi with inking his manga as his assistant. Ye Qi turned the feeling they had shared while riding the bike into a comic scene. However, when Zuo Qiandai saw the storyline he had drawn, she found it too clichéd and unappealing. Ye Qi then brought out a second version, but that one was overly melodramatic as well.

The next day, Zuo Qiandai attended her elective class and discovered that Ye Qi had also signed up for the same course. After they met, Ye Qi assumed Zuo Qiandai was very knowledgeable about the class and even jokingly asked her a question, but Zuo Qiandai actually didn’t know much about it. During the break, Zuo Qiandai asked Ye Qi why he chose to draw shoujo manga.

Ye Qi recalled how he started in this genre—back in high school, he had created a hot-blooded shounen manga and approached many magazines, but only one, called Shoujo Monthly, responded. They asked him to change his style, and Ye Qi gradually adjusted to suit their expectations. Zuo Qiandai later found out by chance that Ye Qi’s manga was based on a real person. Curious, she asked who the character Amei in the manga was.

Ye Qi told her Amei was a good friend, and even mentioned that Amei had spent the night at his place the previous Saturday. This made Zuo Qiandai misunderstand and assume they were in a romantic relationship. Unwilling to accept this, Zuo Qiandai wanted to meet the real-life inspiration for Amei. During lunch, she suddenly spotted Amei in the cafeteria.

Curious, she tried to get a look at Amei’s face, but was surprised—Amei didn’t look as adorable and charming as depicted in the manga and was even being pursued by male students. Unable to find Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai happened to run into Ye Qi’s good friend Chai Ziyu. Chai Ziyu’s good looks instantly captivated her. At the same time, many girls downstairs were screaming Chai Ziyu’s name—he was famous in the school for his talent.

Zuo Qiandai noticed that many of Chai Ziyu’s mannerisms resembled the character Amei from the manga. Ye Qi quietly told her that Chai Ziyu was actually the real-life model for Amei and asked her to keep it a secret. Only then did Zuo Qiandai feel relieved, realizing Amei was actually a boy and not a romantic rival. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai continued working on their project, while Chai Ziyu behaved oddly on the side.

Ye Qi realized Chai Ziyu wanted Zuo Qiandai to come ask him for guidance, so he tried to help fulfill this little wish. Zuo Qiandai followed his suggestion and asked Chai Ziyu for advice once. Feeling bored, Zuo Qiandai suggested they all have a drawing contest featuring architecture, only to discover none of the three were very good at drawing buildings. While they were working, Ye Qi suddenly received a message—his previous manuscript had been rejected.

His comics had always topped the charts before, but now he had dropped to second and never made it back to first place, showing that he had hit a creative bottleneck. After drawing for so long, he no longer knew what kind of fresh story could captivate readers. Zuo Qiandai suggested introducing a new character to push the story forward and continue attracting fans.

Chai Ziyu brought Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai to meet his good friend Lu Dao from the drama club. The moment they met her, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai were deeply intrigued. Although Lu Dao was a girl, her style and charm captivated the other girls around her. Just as Lu Dao was showing off her charisma, the drama club president, Gu Zhengxing, came to drag her away for rehearsal, angry at her repeated tardiness. While chatting with Chai Ziyu, Zuo Qiandai once again sensed that something might be going on between Ye Qi and Lu Dao, and rushed off to find Lu Dao for confirmation.

Episode 3 Recap

Zuo Qiandai confirmed that there was nothing going on between Ye Qi and Lu Dao, but she accidentally discovered that another main character in Ye Qi's manga was actually based on Gu Zhengxing. She went to Ye Qi to ask about his relationship with Gu Zhengxing. Ye Qi explained how they had met—at a time when many people had rejected his work, Gu Zhengxing was the only one who thought his comics were good.

As they talked, the two began discussing the topic of criticizing others' work. Ye Qi angrily told Zuo Qiandai that if anyone dared to criticize his manga, he would make sure they paid for it. His tone suggested he might even get physical, which scared Zuo Qiandai. Secretly, she prayed that Ye Qi would never find out she had once criticized his comics.

Ye Qi felt that Lu Dao wasn't a suitable model for a manga character and asked Zuo Qiandai to look for someone else around her. Zuo Qiandai struggled internally—on one hand, she wanted to recommend herself; on the other, she felt embarrassed being observed by Ye Qi all the time. In the end, she still recommended herself. Inspired by the idea, Ye Qi happily agreed and thought Zuo Qiandai was a great fit as a character model.

As Ye Qi’s model, Zuo Qiandai was constantly under his watchful eye, which made her so awkward that she even forgot how to walk properly. Ye Qi observed her in great detail, even during class. When the teacher asked a question, many students raised their hands. Not wanting Ye Qi to think she was a poor student, Zuo Qiandai decided to participate. Thinking she wouldn't be chosen among all the Chinese students, she was surprised when the teacher picked her.

Standing up silently at first, she ended up accidentally answering the question correctly. Zuo Qiandai wanted to build a fun and likable persona in front of Ye Qi, so she took the initiative to befriend the people around her, hoping Ye Qi would think she was popular. While eating with Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai secretly rejoiced, thinking Ye Qi had finally started to notice her.

Ye Qi showed her the complete personality profile he had compiled based on his observations of her. However, none of the traits Zuo Qiandai tried hard to show were included. Instead, it was filled with negative observations—flaws in her from head to toe. She hoped Ye Qi could at least include a few strengths, fearing that no one would like the character if it was based entirely on her shortcomings.

Worried that Ye Qi would continue to notice her flaws and that it might ruin her chances of pursuing him, Zuo Qiandai decided to introduce her friend Zhou Jieyue to Ye Qi. Just as she was looking for her, Zhou Jieyue happened to be running away from someone. It turned out Zhou Jieyue was an athletic girl. She had to attend a club activity, and Ye Qi developed a bit of interest in her.

He and Zuo Qiandai decided to go watch Zhou Jieyue's club event, where they ran into Ye Qi’s classmate Jiang Ruosong. That’s when Zuo Qiandai learned that Ye Qi used to play basketball but quit to protect his drawing hand. Inside the gym, Gu Zhengxing's eerie laughter echoed—Zhou Jieyue’s laugh was quite terrifying. It turned out her club activity involved playing basketball with Jiang Ruosong's team.

After observing, Ye Qi concluded that Zhou Jieyue would make a good example of a negative character. After watching, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai were about to leave when it suddenly started to rain. Caught in the downpour, Ye Qi found some creative inspiration. As the two walked under an umbrella in the rain, they felt very safe together. Zuo Qiandai secretly hoped they could walk like this forever.

Just then, Ye Qi voiced the exact same thought she had in her heart. That evening, while Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai were discussing things at home, Jiang Ruosong suddenly burst into Ye Qi’s house, looking panicked and trying to hide from Gu Zhengxing.

Episode 4 Recap

As Ye Qi continued observing Zhou Jieyue, he became increasingly interested in her. Zuo Qiandai began to feel regretful and worried that Ye Qi’s growing interest in Zhou Jieyue might turn into affection. She started regretting introducing her best friend to Ye Qi as inspiration for his manga character. Even during class, she was distracted and absent-minded. While taking notes on character traits, Zhou Jieyue, sitting next to her, picked up her notebook and read it.

She noticed that the traits Zuo Qiandai had written were very similar to her own. In her excitement, Zhou Jieyue even ended up damaging school furniture. Girls like Zhou Jieyue, with a devilish aura, were particularly eye-catching and easily attracted attention. Meanwhile, Ye Qi's latest submission to the magazine received feedback pointing out numerous plot inconsistencies.

The editors noted that many scenes, which were supposed to reflect the inner emotions of the character Amei, failed to convey anything, leaving readers confused. Ye Qi reflected on how Amei should be portrayed and realized he didn’t understand her character well enough. He kept rereading his manga to figure out the problem and decided to live as Amei for a day to experience her emotions.

As part of that, Ye Qi delivered a lunchbox to Chai Ziyu while pretending to be Amei. That evening, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai continued working on their project at home. Jiang Ruosong, who had fallen asleep, woke up to find that the music Ye Qi was listening to helped him sleep better. Curious, he decided to search for the singer "Lorelei," a singer known for her performances in the music room.

Jiang Ruosong, who had struggled to feel anything while performing on stage, wanted to find this Lorelei for inspiration—only to discover that Lorelei was actually Zhou Jieyue. Zuo Qiandai took Jiang Ruosong to meet her. Zhou Jieyue asked Jiang Ruosong to sing a new song as a test, but after listening, she felt that he wasn’t suited for singing.

Coincidentally, Jiang Ruosong visited the music club looking for Lorelei and misunderstood the situation, thinking Zhou Jieyue was being bullied within the club and felt sorry for her. Later, Ye Qi brought a lunchbox to Zuo Qiandai, who was initially delighted—until he also pulled out one for Zhou Jieyue, leaving Zuo Qiandai a little disappointed. Ye Qi explained that he wanted to live as Amei for a day to find inspiration.

Zuo Qiandai thought he was being devilish and didn’t plan to join him. But as she was leaving, she saw how delicious the lunch looked and couldn’t resist taking it after all. To find inspiration, Ye Qi decided to become the enemy of all the girls by "stealing Amei away. " Meanwhile, Zuo Qiandai was struggling to figure out how to grab Ye Qi’s attention again.

While she was searching for a way, she saw Ye Qi pushing Lu Dao in a cart, followed by a group of girls chasing after them. In the end, Ye Qi still failed to find inspiration and realized this method wasn’t suitable. Zuo Qiandai, seeing Ye Qi struggling so hard, felt frustrated too and decided she wanted to help him.

Gu Zhengxing found Lu Dao and told her that the musical project had to be stopped because no one was willing to help, no matter who he asked. Lu Dao secretly felt happy about this. Believing that Ye Qi liked girls like Zhou Jieyue, Zuo Qiandai decided to transform herself into a devilish girl to inspire him. She went to find Ye Qi, who happened to be there to collect his manuscript.

Zuo Qiandai mimicked Zhou Jieyue’s style, thinking she had really inspired Ye Qi—but to her surprise, he saw through it and told her not to go through all that trouble. This led to a misunderstanding, and Zuo Qiandai was heartbroken, feeling like Ye Qi hadn’t recognized any of her efforts. Angry, she walked away but later regretted it, thinking maybe Ye Qi had a point and she had overreacted.

Meanwhile, Ye Qi was seeking advice from Chai Ziyu on how to get Zuo Qiandai to forgive him. After a night of gaming, he realized that girls are happiest when shopping, so he invited Zuo Qiandai to go to the mall with him.

Episode 5 Recap

Zuo Qiandai accepted Ye Qi's invitation to go to the mall but deliberately arrived very late. After arriving, Ye Qi had been waiting for Zuo Qiandai and even wanted to buy her a gift. Zuo Qiandai thought Ye Qi was confessing to her and was quite happy. However, when it came time to pick out the gift, the outfit Ye Qi chose left Zuo Qiandai completely dumbfounded.

On the basketball team, because of Zhou Jieyue, many boys were unwilling to come out and play, making it nearly impossible to hold regular practices. Since the team members had previously seen Jiang Ruosong together with Zhou Jieyue, they recommended that Jiang Ruosong talk to her. At first, Zhou Jieyue was a bit nervous, but with strong encouragement from everyone, Jiang Ruosong gained some confidence and agreed right away.

Because Ye Qi brought out a sailor suit that made Zuo Qiandai uncomfortable, she refused to wear it. Ye Qi had no choice but to wear it himself. Zuo Qiandai knew Ye Qi was doing it to seek inspiration and admired his determination to become a professional artist. However, when Ye Qi asked for her help, Zuo Qiandai deliberately turned around and pretended not to know him.

Ye Qi took Zuo Qiandai to a figurine shop, hoping to find one that could inspire him. Coincidentally, Chai Ziyu was also there choosing figurines. From Chai Ziyu, Zuo Qiandai learned that the idea to ask her out today came to Ye Qi after playing a girls’ game all night. Realizing how much Ye Qi cared about her, Zuo Qiandai was very pleased and curious about what kind of figurine he would choose—wondering if he was still thinking about her.

Jiang Ruosong kept thinking about how to talk to Zhou Jieyue. After much deliberation, he left her a note to meet him on the rooftop, which all the girls mistook for a love letter. When he met Zhou Jieyue, Jiang Ruosong was still nervous, but he finally gathered the courage to talk to her about basketball. However, his actions caused some misunderstandings. Zhou Jieyue gave him the nickname “Little Song-Song.

” Jiang Ruosong began reminiscing about Lorelei from the music club and even thought to himself that Zhou Jieyue couldn’t compare—he kept praising Lorelei in his heart and admitted she was his goddess. Feeling overwhelmed, Ye Qi took Zuo Qiandai to blow off steam, which somehow ended up with them competing with a group of elementary school kids in solving math problems. Since Ye Qi was a math major, the kids couldn’t beat him at all.

Chai Ziyu discovered a great manga and contacted its author online, chatting with them in a senior-like tone. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai spent the whole day together, and during a burst of inspiration, Ye Qi even drew a few manga pages. When Zuo Qiandai saw the manga, she thought Ye Qi was using it to confess to her. She shyly considered asking him directly, but just as she was about to speak, Ye Qi's phone rang.

It was a call from an editor wanting to discuss something about Gong Shihei. Zuo Qiandai, hoping to impress Ye Qi, asked to go with him to the publishing house, and he agreed. While playing badminton, Zuo Qiandai vented to Zhou Jieyue about Ye Qi, thinking he was pursuing her.

Zhou Jieyue then shared her thoughts on Jiang Ruosong—his delicate appearance triggered her protective instincts, and the gift he gave her was the first one she had ever received from a boy. Zhou Jieyue then sent Jiang Ruosong a message, which frightened him a bit. As he arrived at the gym, he saw Zhou Jieyue, who immediately ran away upon seeing him.

Episode 6 Recap

Jiang Ruosong kept running while Zhou Jieyue chased after him. Even when Jiang Ruosong boarded a bus, Zhou Jieyue followed and even struck a very dominant pose, which she thought was romantic. Jiang Ruosong, however, didn’t understand her actions. Once a seat was available on the bus, Jiang Ruosong sat down, and Zhou Jieyue immediately sat on his lap and even suggested they go on a date.

Zuo Qiandai went to find Ye Qi and saw his door was open, assuming it was left open for her. Inside, she found no one in the room, just Ye Qi’s computer on the bed. Curious about what Ye Qi was watching, she was about to check when Ye Qi returned. Zuo Qiandai happily chatted with him, still believing the door was left open for her, only to learn Ye Qi had just gone to take out the trash.

When Zuo Qiandai asked what he was watching, Ye Qi got another call from the editor—it was Qian Ye, now promoted to chief editor, returning. This frustrated Ye Qi, and he vented to Zuo Qiandai about Qian Ye’s past. Ye Qi took Zuo Qiandai to meet another manga artist next door who had also suffered under Qian Ye.

Zuo Qiandai was curious what kind of manga artist would be worn down by Qian Ye, only to find a very elegant girl who was also a graduate student. Coincidentally, You Li was working on a new mystery manga. Zuo Qiandai was intrigued and, upon reading it, realized it still followed Qian Ye’s demands. She urged You Li to resist, but You Li just accepted it as fate.

Zuo Qiandai planned to help Ye Qi resist Qian Ye and take back control of his manga. When they arrived at the publishing office, they met Qian Ye and found him to be self-important, which made Zuo Qiandai uncomfortable. During the discussion, Qian Ye didn’t let anyone else speak and insisted on his own ideas.

Zuo Qiandai kept speaking up for Ye Qi, but Qian Ye pulled out Gong Shihei’s harsh critique of Ye Qi’s manga, leaving Zuo Qiandai speechless and embarrassed. At home, she stayed frustrated. Ye Qi then called her, admitting that some of Qian Ye’s points were actually valid. The next day, Zuo Qiandai went to see Ye Qi, only to find he had completely abandoned his usual style and, with Chai Ziyu, was dressing up like a delinquent to find inspiration.

Still lacking inspiration, Ye Qi asked Zuo Qiandai to act like a delinquent too. Reluctantly, she agreed to help him. But inspiration still eluded him, so they went to explore elsewhere with Chai Ziyu. When they saw a tree, Ye Qi suggested climbing it like a real delinquent. Zuo Qiandai thought the idea was childish, but Chai Ziyu climbed the tree to help. Though pretending to be unfazed, Chai Ziyu was terrified and only cried about it after Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai left, desperately looking for a way down.

Episode 7 Recap

Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai sat on campus, unsure how to find real delinquents. Just then, they saw a group of students running and yelling angrily, thinking they had found some. But it turned out the students were just doing a good deed. Disappointed, Zuo Qiandai suggested they go outside campus and brought Ye Qi to an arcade. There, they approached a man who looked like a gangster, complete with tattoos.

Ye Qi found him a bit scary, but with Zuo Qiandai’s encouragement, he greeted the man—only to be mistaken for a provocateur. The tattooed man turned out to be a gang leader, and his underlings thought Ye Qi was picking a fight. Though scared, Ye Qi stepped protectively in front of Zuo Qiandai, ready to fight. Meanwhile, Chai Ziyu was still stuck in the tree and didn’t dare come down.

Zhou Jieyue happened to climb over a wall nearby and fell asleep under the tree while waiting for her bag. Ye Qi prepared to fight two underlings, but it turned out the "challenge" was just about comparing gaming skills. Ye Qi’s reasoning impressed them. Chai Ziyu, still stuck, secretly dropped Zhou Jieyue’s bag down. She picked it up and left, giving him hope—only for Lu Dao to show up next. Lu Dao eventually left too.

The gang members still acted menacingly, scaring Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai. Fearing injury to Ye Qi’s right hand, Zuo Qiandai shielded him. Taking the chance, Ye Qi grabbed her and fled. They hid inside a large bear costume. Zuo Qiandai saw that Ye Qi's right hand was injured and was heartbroken. Still stuck, Chai Ziyu waited for a moment when no one was around. Trying to descend quickly, he accidentally fell—but was caught by a passing student.

The gang couldn’t find Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai and finally left. Zuo Qiandai felt guilty, thinking Ye Qi hurt his hand protecting her. When she heard Ye Qi say he was protecting what mattered most, she thought he meant her and was overjoyed—until Ye Qi pulled out his drawing. It turned out what he wanted to protect was the manga in his bag.

Episode 8 Recap

Zuo Qiandai hid in the bathroom watching old videos criticizing Ye Qi’s manga. She felt she had been too harsh and wanted to make it up to him. So, she proposed a “no-phone challenge” with Ye Qi and Chai Ziyu—if nothing went wrong, it meant Ye Qi’s manga was right; if something did, her criticisms were justified. Zhou Jieyue also saw the challenge online and thought it was exciting.

Coincidentally, Jiang Ruosong came to find her, and she decided to try the challenge with him as well. Because Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai had no phones, they couldn't find each other. A man selling counterfeit phones spotted Ye Qi searching and tried to sell him one but got arrested. Jiang Ruosong went to the mall to find Zhou Jieyue but had no idea where to look. Zhou Jieyue used the mall broadcast system to tell him her location.

Zuo Qiandai wandered into a dessert shop, thinking Ye Qi wouldn’t be there, only to find him waiting for her. They were happy to see each other, confirming they both tried their best to find one another. Ye Qi wanted to buy her a cake but had no cash, and neither did Zuo Qiandai. Ye Qi offered his autograph instead, but the shop owner didn’t recognize him and had security escort them out.

With no phones and no money, Ye Qi decided to earn some cash using his skills. Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong went to a movie, but Jiang Ruosong was uncomfortable with Zhou Jieyue’s carefree attitude. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai drew portraits for customers—Zuo Qiandai’s wasn’t well-received, but Ye Qi’s was appreciated. Zhou Jieyue watched movies differently from others. She even fell asleep on Jiang Ruosong’s lap, and afterward, her recap of the plot missed the main points entirely.

Jiang Ruosong thought she was doing it on purpose to humiliate him. Zhou Jieyue, seeing his reaction, felt it was a challenge and believed Jiang Ruosong might be interested in her. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai had a great day without their phones, only to suddenly remember they had forgotten about Chai Ziyu—who was now at the police station, having been caught up with the counterfeit phone seller.

They went to pick him up and, on the bus ride back, Ye Qi reflected on the day and felt his manga was flawed. Zuo Qiandai and Chai Ziyu comforted him, but Ye Qi couldn’t shake the belief that Gong Shihei’s online critiques were right. Wanting to rebuild his confidence, Zuo Qiandai finally admitted that she was the person behind the Gong Shihei account. Ye Qi and Chai Ziyu were both stunned.

Episode 9 Recap

The bus slowly pulled up to the stop. After Zuo Qiandai revealed that she was the person behind the username Gong Shihei, the three of them felt very awkward. Chai Ziyu got off the bus helplessly, still worried about Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai who remained on the bus. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai sat silently, neither of them speaking.

Zuo Qiandai thought that after this, Ye Qi would never forgive her again, and she braced herself for an impending storm. But to her surprise, Ye Qi wasn’t nearly as angry as she imagined. On the contrary, he was very calm and even told her that he had long been aware of her online identity. He wanted to have a face-to-face, in-depth discussion with her. Ye Qi brought Zuo Qiandai home and started discussing the characters in the comic.

When Ye Qi mentioned Zuo Qiandai’s criticism of the comic at the party, Zuo Qiandai thought he was going to publicly scold her, feeling extremely awkward and unsure of how to react, so she just nodded along with his words. After returning home, Zuo Qiandai forwarded some positive comments about the comic to Ye Qi to encourage him. She even wanted to leave some compliments for Ye Qi using her Gong Shihei identity, but Ye Qi refused.

While Zuo Qiandai was walking around campus, she suddenly received a message from Ye Qi calling for help. She thought Ye Qi had run out of ink, so she rushed to buy some and delivered it to his home, only to find him lying in bed with a cooling patch on his forehead.

Meanwhile, Chai Ziyu was also venting to someone about his unlucky day yesterday when he received the same emergency message from Ye Qi and immediately rushed over to his house. Lu Dao thought Gu Zhengxing was trying to steal her role, so she deliberately went to see him, using rehearsing lines as an excuse to test him. Gu Zhengxing thought Lu Dao had suddenly become serious and was very pleased.

During their line rehearsal, Lu Dao was deeply moved by Gu Zhengxing’s performance and even forgot her own lines. She voluntarily offered him the role, claiming she’d rather play Gu Zhengxing’s horse in the performance, even putting a horse head costume on herself. Gu Zhengxing was completely baffled by Lu Dao’s behavior and was about to ask her what was going on when he received an urgent message and tried to leave in a hurry.

He accidentally tripped and fell unconscious. Lu Dao thought Gu Zhengxing needed medical attention, so she carried him on her back through the campus while still wearing the horse head, causing a huge misunderstanding among the passing girls. Seeing that Ye Qi was sick, Zuo Qiandai wanted to make something nourishing for him.

She followed an online recipe step by step, but by the time she finished, she heard at the end of the video that the dish should not be given to people with colds as it could worsen the illness. Helpless, Zuo Qiandai had no choice but to taste it herself, only to find the taste made her want to throw up. After class, Jiang Ruosong ran into Zhou Jieyue in the campus corridor.

Seeing her rubbing her eyes, he thought she was still upset and worried that Gu Zhengxing had blocked him. He immediately tried to confirm it. Zuo Qiandai looked at the video’s claim that "anyone with hands can cook this dish" and doubted it, glancing between the unappetizing result she made and her own hands.

She wanted to make ginger soup for Ye Qi but ended up burning the ginger, so she could only offer him a bowl of hot water instead. Chai Ziyu and Gu Zhengxing also rushed to Ye Qi’s house with bottles of ink after receiving his SOS message. Ye Qi, sick and still needing to finish his comic, wanted the three of them to help him complete the next part of the comic.

After helping Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai checked in on him and found him asleep, murmuring her name in his sleep. She felt deeply moved, only to realize that Ye Qi was actually thinking of a new character’s name for his comic.

Episode 10 Recap

The comic completed with everyone’s help returned to the top of the rankings, and the manuscript payment had already been deposited into Ye Qi’s account, making everyone very happy. Ye Qi wanted to express his gratitude. Zuo Qiandai and Chai Ziyu both thought Ye Qi was going to give them gifts and were excited. Instead, Ye Qi brought out two banners. His odd way of showing appreciation left them a bit disappointed.

When Ye Qi said he wanted to take everyone on a team-building trip, Chai Ziyu and Zuo Qiandai were happy again—until they heard it involved traditional Chinese massage. Disappointment returned. Eventually, Zuo Qiandai suggested they go to the beach during the day and do the massage in the evening, which Ye Qi accepted. Zhou Jieyue went swimsuit shopping with Lu Chen. Lu Chen was dressed very much like a boy, and it just so happened that Jiang Ruosong saw them.

Seeing Zhou Jieyue shopping with a "boy," jealousy surged in Jiang Ruosong’s heart. From an outsider’s perspective, Lu Chen and Zhou Jieyue even appeared quite close. Jiang Ruosong couldn’t take it and followed them under the pretense of helping Zhou Jieyue carry her bag. Once everyone was ready, they finally set off for the team-building trip, all in high spirits.

But Ye Qi’s clueless behavior kicked in again—on the bus, he didn’t even notice that Zuo Qiandai was wearing makeup, and his odd remarks made her visibly annoyed. At the beach, Ye Qi roamed with his camera, searching for inspiration. His targets: young couples, especially the girls. He made no attempt to be discreet, and all the boyfriends noticed.

When they approached Ye Qi to question him, he blatantly explained he was collecting reference material and even showed them the photos he had taken. With evidence in hand, the boyfriends chased after Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai. During their escape, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai accidentally ended up hugging. After they shook off their pursuers, Zuo Qiandai suggested Ye Qi use this incident in his comic.

Just as she said this, some seaweed landed on Ye Qi’s head—it turned out Zhou Jieyue had thrown it. Jiang Ruosong had gotten pricked by the seaweed, and Zhou Jieyue helped him remove it, then angrily threw it away, accidentally hitting Ye Qi. Zhou Jieyue interrupted Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai’s conversation just as Gu Zhengxing and Chai Ziyu were about to go kayaking and invited Ye Qi to join.

Zhou Jieyue saw that Jiang Ruosong couldn’t participate due to his injury while the three guys were having fun, and she felt upset. She deliberately went up to greet them and secretly poked a hole in their kayak with a needle. While the three men were paddling, the kayak started slowly deflating, leaving them confused. From the shore, Zuo Qiandai casually commented, “If you open the valve, it’ll sink faster,” which inspired Zhou Jieyue.

She dove underwater, opened the valve, and the kayak instantly sank. That night, Jiang Ruosong and Gu Zhengxing both fell asleep on beach loungers. Lu Chen came by and secretly took a photo with Gu Zhengxing. Zhou Jieyue came to look for Jiang Ruosong, but he was asleep and listening to music, barely acknowledging her. Annoyed, she turned up the music volume to wake him up.

Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai came to a fish stall, where the vendor claimed the fish were "couple fish" and could only be bought in pairs. After they left, the angry Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong passed by. When Zhou Jieyue heard that these were all couples who ended up together, she furiously asked the vendor for a net and separated all the fish that were in pairs. That night on the beach, the three couples were all reaching out to each other.

Episode 11 Recap

Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai watched the stars in the night sky together. Seeing that Zuo Qiandai liked stargazing, Ye Qi took her on the Ferris wheel so they could enjoy a perfect view of the stars when it reached the top. However, a mishap occurred when they entered the Ferris wheel. Since Ye Qi was paying, Zuo Qiandai went in first, and by the time Ye Qi came over, he had to sit in a different compartment.

They communicated through the glass between their two cabins. Although there were still some communication barriers between them, by a stroke of luck, they captured the most beautiful moments on camera, which greatly inspired Ye Qi creatively. After returning from the team-building trip, Ye Qi created a new comic based on the inspiration from that night. The thoughts of the character in Ye Qi’s comic mirrored exactly what Zuo Qiandai had felt that evening.

Zuo Qiandai mistakenly thought Ye Qi could read her mind and misunderstood, believing Ye Qi was expressing his feelings to her through the comic. Overwhelmed with emotion, she was about to confess to Ye Qi, but just as she was about to speak, Chai Ziyu suddenly burst in and interrupted them. Chai Ziyu was going to attend a mixer, but he felt nervous and unsure. Initially, Ye Qi was stuck on his comic and didn’t feel like helping Chai Ziyu.

But after Chai Ziyu brought it up, Ye Qi thought he could role-play a mixer scene to find creative inspiration. To get into character, Ye Qi immersed himself deeply in the role. Every time Chai Ziyu finished speaking, Ye Qi would take Zuo Qiandai with him to the restroom to discuss. However, no matter how they acted it out, Ye Qi and Chai Ziyu both felt it didn’t resemble a real co-ed mixer.

So they had the only girl present, Zuo Qiandai, play the role of the female participant. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai went out shopping together to relax and look for inspiration. Suddenly, they came across a couple in the middle of a love confession. Ye Qi took the opportunity to ask Zuo Qiandai some questions, which made her mistakenly believe that Ye Qi wanted to confess to her.

Later, when she was at the cafeteria with Zhou Jieyue, she excitedly told her the news. But instead of being happy, Zhou Jieyue was upset. She felt that Zuo Qiandai’s progress was moving too quickly while Jiang Ruosong showed no interest at all. In frustration, Zhou Jieyue invited Jiang Ruosong to a basketball match and even dominantly took over the basketball court. A boy standing on the sidelines got annoyed watching Zhou Jieyue play basketball.

Jiang Ruosong finally gathered his courage and rallied everyone to reclaim the court. Zhou Jieyue suggested that if Jiang Ruosong danced for her, she’d give up the court. In the end, Jiang Ruosong agreed, and his dance was so captivating that it moved the crowd, including Zhou Jieyue. Zuo Qiandai went to the school’s manga club, where a few girls were discussing the stories in the girls’ monthly magazine.

However, when Zuo Qiandai saw some lines in Ye Qi’s comic, she mistakenly believed that Ye Qi was using the comic to reject her, which made her very sad. To distract herself and ease the pain, she kept finding things to do. Meanwhile, Ye Qi was furious because the content in the comic was not what he intended to express—it had been secretly altered by Qian Ye. Ye Qi was confused about why Zuo Qiandai hadn’t come to help with the comic as usual and sent her a message to ask, but she didn’t respond.

Episode 12 Recap

Because Zuo Qiandai hadn’t come to Ye Qi’s house to help with the inking, and Ye Qi couldn’t see her, he had to go look for her himself. Zuo Qiandai used preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam as an excuse and told Ye Qi that she would be very busy from now on and might not be able to help him with the comic anymore.

Ye Qi didn’t understand what she meant and even wished her luck with the exam, offering to be her model, which Zuo Qiandai firmly refused. Gu Zhengxing suddenly came to Ye Qi. Gu Zhengxing had been captivated by a photo of a pair of beautiful legs he found in front of the school and wanted Ye Qi’s help on how to find the person in the picture.

Meanwhile, to help the art club find a male model, Zuo Qiandai went to look for Chai Ziyu. After Ye Qi returned, he wanted to help Zuo Qiandai, so he asked senior You Li for some tips about the entrance exam, intending to give them to Zuo Qiandai. Chai Ziyu asked Ye Qi for ideas about what poses would look cool as a model. Ye Qi suggested incorporating some poses from his own action figures.

Chai Ziyu thought it was a workable idea, but since all his figures were female characters, the poses ended up looking quite odd. Chai Ziyu went to the manga club to model for the girls and changed poses according to their requests. Ye Qi also went to the manga club to give Zuo Qiandai the exam materials he had prepared. The moment she saw the materials, Zuo Qiandai was genuinely touched, though she pretended to be indifferent on the surface.

Seeing the girls drawing the model, Ye Qi became interested and stayed to join in the creation process. He finally realized that Zuo Qiandai was being cold toward him and kept thinking about what he had done to upset her. Meanwhile, Chai Ziyu, inspired by Ye Qi, sat on the steps watching the girls walk by, hoping to find the person from the photo with the beautiful legs. Coincidentally, a teacher at school also approached Gu Zhengxing.

The teacher had read a manuscript Gu Zhengxing submitted and thought it was pretty good, but said the romantic storyline between the male and female leads wasn’t detailed enough. So Gu Zhengxing added the plot about his search for the owner of the beautiful legs photo, and the teacher found it quite interesting. Back on Ye Qi’s side, he was still puzzled about why Zuo Qiandai had suddenly become so distant.

It was Chai Ziyu who came and told Ye Qi about the recent reason behind Zuo Qiandai’s gloom—Zuo Qiandai had posted a voice recording online about heartbreak, and they suspected she had gone through a breakup. Ye Qi was confused after hearing this because he had never heard about Zuo Qiandai being in a relationship. He remembered the time he was stuck in a tree and overheard Zuo Qiandai talking about liking a boy.

When Ye Qi learned that Zuo Qiandai had changed because of a breakup, he even blamed her for investing too much emotionally. After Chai Ziyu left, Ye Qi opened his drawer and stared blankly at the bottle of ink he had bought for Zuo Qiandai, feeling somewhat disappointed. The next day, Ye Qi carefully prepared a gift to encourage Zuo Qiandai and went to find her.

Episode 13 Recap

Although Zuo Qiandai had been deliberately trying to keep her distance from Ye Qi, even while sitting in class preparing for the lesson, she couldn’t help but constantly think about him deep down, though she refused to admit it. When the teacher came in to start class and began roll call, he only called Zuo Qiandai’s name. Looking up, he realized she was the only student present.

Learning that the rest had gone to watch the open audition, the teacher told Zuo Qiandai to call them all back. Zuo Qiandai believed such a good performance deserved Ye Qi’s presence, so she was reluctant to go, but was forced to under the teacher's pressure. Lu Dao’s younger sister, Lu Li, began to grow suspicious after seeing Lu Dao and Gu Zhengxing interacting.

Lu Dao hurriedly tried to explain, but Lu Li still believed there was something going on between them. Gu Zhengxing invited Lu Li to act in a play and even asked her to play the female lead. Lu Dao tried to help her refuse, but Lu Li readily agreed. Gu Zhengxing noticed that Lu Li’s legs looked quite similar to those in the photo, though there were still some slight differences.

Zuo Qiandai was touched by the performance and called all the students back to class. From Gu Zhengxing’s mouth, she learned that Ye Qi had bought a gift for her, but she pretended not to care. Lu Li greatly admired Ye Qi’s work and even considered him her idol, so she approached him to chat. The two sat beside the flower bed talking.

Zuo Qiandai, thinking about Ye Qi’s gift and believing that he had a change of heart, was overjoyed as she walked, only to come across Ye Qi and Lu Li together, which led to a misunderstanding. Ye Qi was thrilled to see Zuo Qiandai and tried to give her the gift he had prepared. However, Zuo Qiandai, furious, knocked it away and ran off. It began to rain heavily. Ye Qi stayed home, pondering Zuo Qiandai’s heartbreak and depression.

Chai Ziyu, Jiang Ruosong, and Gu Zhengxing all came to Ye Qi’s house to take shelter from the rain. At the same time, Lu Dao and Zhou Jieyue also ran to Zuo Qiandai’s house for the same reason, and everyone began discussing topics about boys and girls. Lu Dao happened to ask about Jiang Ruosong’s current job, and Zhou Jieyue messaged him to inquire. Meanwhile, Ye Qi and the others were talking about manga.

They all met because they helped Ye Qi with his manga, though none of the boys were willing to admit they had drawn manga. Jiang Ruosong misunderstood and gave Zhou Jieyue a short response, which made her anxious enough to consider calling the police. Zuo Qiandai knew what the boys were doing, but since they didn’t want her to reveal anything, she kept trying to calm Zhou Jieyue and Lu Dao.

Ye Qi and the others began discussing how girls perceive boys drawing shoujo manga. Gu Zhengxing originally thought girls might find it cool, but then Zuo Qiandai sent a message saying it was an embarrassing job. This caused more misunderstandings, as the boys assumed all girls thought it shameful. Since the rain didn’t stop, the three boys decided to spend the night at Ye Qi’s place, which unexpectedly sparked new inspiration.

To gather more material, Ye Qi kept his friends awake, having them talk about romantic topics. Meanwhile, Zuo Qiandai and the girls were playing games, and even when choosing characters, she couldn’t stop thinking of Ye Qi. Coincidentally, the boys also stayed up to play shoujo games and chat about romance.

Episode 14 Recap

The girls chatted about boys while playing games. Lu Dao discovered Gu Zhengxing had a thing for cross-dressing when she found a shoujo manga with detailed notes in his dorm. Zuo Qiandai explained that Gu Zhengxing was only helping Ye Qi with his manga and that it had nothing to do with cross-dressing.

Lu Dao realized she might have misunderstood and wanted to apologize but didn’t know how, so she sent Gu Zhengxing a message asking what kind of underwear he liked, which made him furious. As they lay in bed getting ready to sleep, the girls talked about sexy swimsuits. But Lu Dao and Zhou Jieyue quickly dozed off, leaving Zuo Qiandai in the middle. She felt a sense of comfort and shared a photo of the three of them online.

Ye Qi was also getting ready to sleep but was still worried about Zuo Qiandai. When he saw the photo and her thoughts online, he suddenly got inspired, sneaked into the bathroom, and made a secret phone call to Zuo Qiandai. Half-asleep, she answered without knowing who it was. Only after hanging up did she realize it had been Ye Qi.

The next morning, Ye Qi sent Zuo Qiandai a message saying he would help her rediscover the feeling of a racing heartbeat. Zuo Qiandai was slightly excited upon reading it but worried it might be a letdown, so she brushed it off and went back to sleep. Ye Qi and Chai Ziyu discussed how to help Zuo Qiandai feel that heartbeat again and planned a special gift for her.

Zuo Qiandai was reading in the library when Ye Qi brought her the gift, startling her. Meanwhile, Jiang Ruosong was playing basketball with classmates when singing suddenly echoed. Reflexively, he fainted and fell asleep. His classmates thought he was sick and tried to call for help. At that moment, Zhou Jieyue appeared and stopped them, then picked up a marker and drew on Jiang Ruosong’s face. Jiang Ruosong went to Ye Qi for help.

He explained that lately, someone had been using the same method—singing to make him fall asleep, then drawing silly faces on him. Since it was Zhou Jieyue singing "Lorelei" that made him fall asleep, Jiang Ruosong was confused and wanted to discuss it with Ye Qi. But Ye Qi, worried that telling him Zhou Jieyue was behind it would cause a breakdown, gave a vague explanation. Nevertheless, the incident gave Ye Qi plenty of material for his manga.

Lu Dao, still helping Gu Zhengxing pick clothes, was wearing shorts that day. As she climbed up to get a dress, Gu Zhengxing happened to walk by and saw her legs from the perfect angle. They were exactly like the ones in the photo, so he got excited and rushed over. But Lu Dao fell, and Gu Zhengxing didn’t realize the legs were hers—he thought the person had already left.

During class, Zuo Qiandai was still preoccupied with Ye Qi’s “heartbeat plan. ” Because she wasn’t paying attention, she panicked when the teacher asked about homework. Ye Qi stepped in and pulled out a USB drive, saying the homework was on it. Zuo Qiandai worried he was pulling something again and refused, saying she hadn’t done the homework. Ye Qi insisted, and their back-and-forth annoyed the teacher so much that he kicked them both out.

From Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai learned that the rejection dialogue in the manga wasn’t his idea—it was added by Qian Ye. She was delighted, because that meant Ye Qi hadn’t actually rejected her. Zuo Qiandai eagerly awaited the final line of Ye Qi’s dialogue but didn’t want to admit it directly, so she asked in a roundabout way without letting him say it aloud.

Episode 15 Recap

Zuo Qiandai was still online defending Ye Qi and praising Ye Qi's manga. At the end, she even joked to her fans that she was looking forward to seeing what surprises her upcoming birthday would bring. When Zuo Qiandai ended her livestream, she found that many fans were mocking her, with some even calling her a shut-in and very fat. This deeply hurt Zuo Qiandai and made her determined to lose weight.

On Ye Qi’s side, he was working on a project with Chai Ziyu and also noticed the online criticism Zuo Qiandai was receiving. So Ye Qi joined in to defend her. When he heard from Chai Ziyu that Zuo Qiandai wanted a memorable birthday, Ye Qi began thinking of how to celebrate it for her. To find inspiration, Ye Qi went to the basketball court to see Jiang Ruosong, only to find Jiang Ruosong asleep on the court.

Concerned that the constantly blowing fan might make Jiang Ruosong catch a cold, Ye Qi kindly turned it off. At that moment, Zhou Jieyue arrived. When she saw Jiang Ruosong sleeping, she softly hummed a tune near his ear, making his sleep even more peaceful. When Jiang Ruosong woke up again, he asked Ye Qi and Zhou Jieyue if Lorelei had passed by earlier. To hide her identity, Zhou Jieyue was the first to deny it.

Zuo Qiandai had a meal with Chai Ziyu and said she was going to lose weight. Chai Ziyu also said she was a bit fat, which made Zuo Qiandai think that Ye Qi might also think she was fat, strengthening her resolve. Since Chai Ziyu had been practicing Wing Chun, he brought Zuo Qiandai along to sign up.

The two of them practiced together, but during the physical fitness running test, Zuo Qiandai couldn't keep up and collapsed on a park bench, falling into a deep sleep. Chai Ziyu was also exhausted from running, but when he saw two beautiful women, he acted like nothing was wrong. During a break in Wing Chun practice, Zuo Qiandai asked Chai Ziyu what Ye Qi was planning for her birthday.

Chai Ziyu didn’t answer directly and just told her there would be a big surprise. Although Zuo Qiandai was excited, she also worried that Ye Qi might do something eccentric that would make her heart race like before. When Zuo Qiandai and Chai Ziyu returned, they found Ye Qi with the Wing Chun master that the professor was practicing with. It turned out this master was Ye Qi’s younger brother, Ye Zhen.

Zuo Qiandai also told Ye Qi that Ye Zhen was the online friend Chai Ziyu had mentioned. At that moment, Ye Qi didn't want to miss such good material. Ye Qi seemed to start liking the idea of celebrating in various ways. Zuo Qiandai misunderstood and thought Ye Qi was asking about her preferences to plan her birthday, so she shared some of her inner wishes. That evening, Ye Qi anxiously waited at home.

Suddenly, Zuo Qiandai showed up, surprising Ye Qi, who had been waiting for the food delivery so he could prepare before she arrived. At that exact moment, the delivery arrived. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai sat face-to-face, sharing a romantic meal. After dinner, the two began working on their creation.

Zuo Qiandai tried to show off her beauty in front of Ye Qi, but he didn’t catch on and instead said she looked strong, making her feel even more self-conscious about her weight. When Ye Qi asked her to cut all the paper, Zuo Qiandai easily sliced through a stack with one stroke, surprising both of them. While Ye Qi was focused on drawing, Zuo Qiandai suddenly noticed the calendar in Ye Qi’s room marked with her birthday.

Chai Ziyu and Lu Dao discovered that Gu Zhengxing had been treasuring a photo of a pair of legs. Chai Ziyu guessed that the pair of beautiful legs Gu Zhengxing had been searching for might actually belong to Lu Dao.

Episode 16 Recap

Encouraged by his basketball teammates, Jiang Ruosong decided to confess to Zhou Jieyue. But when they met, he was still very conflicted inside, unsure of the storm he might face after confessing. During their conversation, Jiang Ruosong mistakenly thought Zhou Jieyue had seen through his identity as Lorelei and was nervously trying to cover it up. Just as he was panicking, Zhou Jieyue suddenly blurted out that she liked him. After Zhou Jieyue’s confession, the world seemed to freeze.

Both were stunned on the spot, and Jiang Ruosong became shy. When Lu Dao learned that the beautiful legs Gu Zhengxing was looking for were actually hers, she kept showing off her legs on stage for Gu Zhengxing to see. However, Gu Zhengxing was completely focused on filming and didn’t notice her legs at all. Instead, he kept scolding "Air" for not following the script and got very angry.

Seeing that even her best effort couldn’t get Gu Zhengxing’s attention, Lu Dao tried another method. Ye Qi took Zuo Qiandai to a real-life CS (combat simulation) field. Although he claimed it was for creative inspiration, Zuo Qiandai believed he was doing it to celebrate her birthday and give her a sense of protection. When the battle started, both Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai were scared. Seeing Zuo Qiandai acting timidly triggered Ye Qi’s protective instincts.

He decided to toughen up and lead the way for Zuo Qiandai. Zuo Qiandai fantasized about defeating all enemies under Ye Qi’s protection. Ye Qi had carefully planned many routes, but was eliminated as soon as he left cover. Coincidentally, Zhou Jieyue, trying to redeem her earlier shy retreat, brought Jiang Ruosong along to play CS.

During the game, Zhou Jieyue blushed again and was almost ambushed, but Jiang Ruosong quickly tackled her to the ground, making their interaction more intimate. After seeing Ye Qi eliminated, Zuo Qiandai became furious and charged out shooting wildly, accidentally hitting Zhou Jieyue, who was then declared out. This angered Jiang Ruosong, who then shot Zuo Qiandai, securing victory for his team and earning Zhou Jieyue’s praise.

In the next round, Ye Qi vowed to protect Zuo Qiandai no matter what, but due to being overly nervous, he accidentally shot her himself. Later, Ye Qi took Zuo Qiandai to ride go-karts, but drove very slowly out of fear. To show off her legs, Lu Dao brought Gu Zhengxing to ride go-karts too. She drove extremely fast and kept reminding Gu Zhengxing to look at her legs.

But Gu Zhengxing was too scared to notice and had no interest in her legs at all. Disappointed, Lu Dao believed Chai Ziyu’s intel was fake and misunderstood Gu Zhengxing, thinking he wanted to have perfect legs himself. She took out waxing strips and suddenly ripped a layer of leg hair from an unprepared Gu Zhengxing, causing him great pain. That evening, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai went fishing together.

By accident, Ye Qi’s fishing hook tore a piece of Chai Ziyu’s clothing, revealing that Chai Ziyu and Ye Zhen were nearby. After spending the whole day out, Ye Qi had urgent matters to attend to but his phone was out of battery, and so was Zuo Qiandai’s. To save time, Zuo Qiandai pulled Ye Qi onto the road to hail a taxi and urged the driver to speed up.

Because they were going too fast, they got into a car accident and were stuck inside. At that moment, Ye Qi turned on the car radio. It turned out Ye Qi had arranged a surprise birthday gift for Zuo Qiandai—a birthday song he had requested at the radio station. Zuo Qiandai was deeply touched. Thinking back on everything that happened that day, she felt Ye Qi had been protecting her all along. In the end, Ye Qi also gave her a birthday cake, making it a perfect birthday celebration for Zuo Qiandai.

Episode 17 Recap

Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai sat on a park bench discussing the future development of their manga. Ye Qi wanted to add some horror elements to it, which piqued Zuo Qiandai's curiosity. She picked up Ye Qi's latest manga to read, but just as she was getting excited, the latest chapter ended.

Since Ye Qi hadn’t yet decided how to continue, the two decided to find Chai Ziyu, the inspiration for the character Amei in the manga, to ask for some ideas. In the end, the three of them planned to watch a horror movie together to experience the feeling. As the horror movie was about to start, Zuo Qiandai fantasized about pretending to be scared during the scariest scene so that Ye Qi would hold her.

Just imagining such a scene made Zuo Qiandai want to laugh. But when the movie actually started, she couldn't bring herself to pretend to be scared and thought the movie wasn’t very frightening at all. Hugging Ye Qi would seem fake. Coincidentally, Ye Qi and Chai Ziyu also felt the movie wasn’t very scary and didn’t inspire any new ideas.

To help Ye Qi find horror inspiration, Zuo Qiandai planned a courage-testing night adventure and contacted Zhou Jieyue to share the plan. Zhou Jieyue also decided to bring Jiang Ruosong along. Zhou Jieyue was out shopping with Jiang Ruosong and brought him to a dessert shop. While enjoying the sweets, they happened to run into Zhao Xiaojian, a high school classmate who was Zhou Jieyue’s boyfriend back in school.

Seeing Zhou Jieyue and Zhao Xiaojian chatting so animatedly made Jiang Ruosong feel a bit jealous. On the way back, they encountered a cat, and Zhou Jieyue showed great affection for it, allowing Jiang Ruosong to see her kind side. That night, the courage-testing trip officially began. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai also invited Lu Dao and Gu Zhengxing.

The four of them looked at the dark hallway and couldn’t help but feel a bit afraid, but they mustered the courage to move forward. After walking through it, they found that nothing had happened. Ye Qi asked Zuo Qiandai what was supposed to have happened in that hallway. Lu Dao explained that several legends surrounded the hallway. One claimed that people would faint while walking through it.

It turned out to be the music room hallway, and the person who had fainted was Jiang Ruosong, who fell asleep after hearing Lorelei’s song. The other legends were also debunked one by one — there was nothing truly terrifying. So the group continued searching for the school’s supposedly haunted hallway. The four of them arrived at a room filled with plaster statues.

Lu Dao had to take a call and took Gu Zhengxing with her, leaving Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai alone. Zuo Qiandai, leaning close to Ye Qi, was trying to find an opportunity to hold his hand. Just then, Ye Qi saw some plaster statues moving and, frightened, grabbed Zuo Qiandai and ran outside. Zuo Qiandai was thrilled because it was the first time the two had held hands.

But then she suddenly realized that Ye Qi wasn't holding either of her hands — she was holding a fake hand. After Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai left the room, Lu Dao and Gu Zhengxing emerged from behind the statues. It turned out they had moved the statues to scare them, and they were very pleased with themselves. However, while they were celebrating, the statues started moving again, scaring them both into fleeing.

Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai took their latest manga to Qian Ye to submit it, but he questioned their work. They decided to stand firm and seek help from Gong Jian, only to find that he was also being targeted by Qian Ye. To help Gong Jian, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai agreed to go to an escape room recommended by Qian Ye, hoping to exchange the experience for Qian Ye easing off Gong Jian.

Ye Qi also invited Chai Ziyu and several other friends. During the escape room challenge, Chai Ziyu was captured, and the group had to find and rescue him.

Episode 18 Recap

Zhou Jieyue behaved very differently from the others, looking extremely excited and wanting to catch ghosts. She was the first to rush into the escape room, and Jiang Ruosong followed out of concern for her. Lu Dao and Gu Zhengxing naturally teamed up to search for Chai Ziyu. During their search, Lu Dao wanted to learn more about Gu Zhengxing’s past and asked why he refused to perform on stage despite his passion for it.

Gu Zhengxing revealed that during previous performances, all his female co-stars had been seriously injured, so he vowed never to go on stage again. As they were talking, someone dressed as a ghost tried to scare them, but neither of them was frightened. After finishing their conversation, they finally noticed the ghost and were scared into running away. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai also paired up to search.

Ye Qi suddenly had a stomachache and rushed out to use the bathroom, leaving Zuo Qiandai alone. When he returned, he heard Zuo Qiandai shouting. In his panic over her safety, Ye Qi rushed in to help and accidentally knocked out one of the NPCs. As a result, they had to leave and could no longer participate in the escape room. Lu Dao and Gu Zhengxing were cornered in a room.

Gu Zhengxing blocked the door while Lu Dao searched for another exit. Gu Zhengxing happened to glance at Lu Dao's legs and realized that her legs resembled the perfect ones he had always envisioned. Meanwhile, Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong were enjoying a peaceful time — Zhou Jieyue even fell asleep on Jiang Ruosong’s shoulder. Chai Ziyu, still waiting to be rescued, remained confident that his friends would come for him even though no one had shown up yet.

Ye Qi indeed gained a lot of inspiration from the escape room experience and successfully submitted his draft. After returning, Ye Qi proactively requested to rejoin the basketball team. Zuo Qiandai also brought lots of medical supplies just in case. Jiang Ruosong even prepared a simple welcome ceremony for Ye Qi. However, just as everyone was getting excited, Ye Qi announced that he wanted to become the basketball team’s manager, not a player.

After returning, Lu Dao’s acting was impressive and captivated Gu Zhengxing. After the performance, his focus was still on Lu Dao’s legs. In fact, her performance hadn’t impressed him at all — he had been staring at her perfect legs the entire time. So Gu Zhengxing modified the script, trying to eliminate Lu Dao’s legs from the story. But the more he edited, the more attention he paid to her legs.

Just as the basketball team members were puzzled, Zhou Jieyue suddenly showed up with a group of female team members. Zhou Jieyue thought Ye Qi was there to steal her turf and was very displeased. Zuo Qiandai explained that Ye Qi was there to be the boys’ team manager. After Zuo Qiandai described the role of a manager, Zhou Jieyue realized that her usual tasks were similar and decided to compete for the position.

The boys' team was horrified by the idea and tried to persuade Ye Qi to take the manager role. In the end, Ye Qi and Zhou Jieyue agreed to compete for the position — but Zhou Jieyue added a condition: the loser would have to wear an outfit the other found embarrassing.

Episode 19 Recap

Lu Dao's performance received praise from Gu Zhengxing. However, in order to avoid being influenced by Lu Dao, Gu Zhengxing deliberately had her wear pants with strong local characteristics. To compete for the team manager, Ye Qi led the team in a match against Zhou Jieyue. The two sides engaged in various types of competitions, especially during the basketball showdown, which was very exciting. At the beginning of the basketball game, Jiang Ruosong’s team had a slight lead.

But Zhou Jieyue had a sudden idea—she brought all the players' girlfriends to the scene. With the “girlfriend buff,” the red team members were like wild horses off the reins and quickly overtook the score. Seeing the dire situation, Zuo Qiandai came up with a plan: she brought over Lu Dao, who was acting at the time, and used Lu Dao’s charm to attract the attention of the red team’s girlfriends.

As a result, the red team players lost their focus on the game. Hmm… they eventually won the basketball match, but in terms of the overall outcome, Ye Qi still lost, and Zhou Jieyue won. Ye Qi was very gracious about losing the match, though he did feel somewhat disappointed inside. Originally, he had hoped to perform well in front of Zuo Qiandai, but ended up losing to Zhou Jieyue.

However, Zuo Qiandai felt that Ye Qi had already done perfectly and kept praising him. Ye Qi planned to sign up for a competition during the school anniversary event. Because he had won a match previously, many of the senior girls in school already knew him. This time, Ye Qi wanted to challenge himself with a more difficult competition. Just as he was about to register, he saw Zuo Qiandai.

Since the school anniversary was approaching, Zuo Qiandai had been busy designing posters for the event and had no time to help Ye Qi with his manga. Ye Qi saw Zuo Qiandai pushing a cart alone, loaded with two large boxes, and went over to check on her, only to find her swamped with work.

Ye Qi heard Zuo Qiandai say she was designing the school anniversary poster, but at that moment, she couldn’t find any inspiration and didn’t know how to start. Coincidentally, Ye Qi draws manga and offered to help with the design. With Ye Qi’s help, Zuo Qiandai quickly came up with a concept for the school anniversary poster. Zuo Qiandai was very happy and casually assigned Ye Qi the task of cutting paper.

Ye Qi had no complaints and worked with her on the poster. Zuo Qiandai was thrilled to be working together and began creating amidst scattered sheets of paper. However, after a while, she noticed that Ye Qi hadn’t drawn a single line, which made her anxious. She decided to do it herself and found an excuse to send Ye Qi out to clean the brushes.

When Ye Qi came out with the brushes, he heard from one of Zuo Qiandai’s classmates that her deadline for finishing the poster was extremely tight. Ye Qi couldn’t help but feel guilty, since he had been hesitating about how to begin drawing and hadn’t actually helped her at all. At that moment, a flustered Zuo Qiandai accidentally injured her hand due to her anxiety.

Knowing the heavy workload she had, Ye Qi quickly turned back and asked her about the remaining tasks. Her tasks were complicated and numerous, and hardly any of them were finished. Realizing there was no way she could complete everything alone in time, Ye Qi decided to form a team to help her.

Episode 20 Recap

Ye Qi gathered several good friends and had already prepared a detailed plan in advance. Each person had their own assigned tasks. After a brief explanation, everyone immediately got to work. Gu Zhengxing worked with Lu Dao, but he couldn’t get Lu Dao’s beautiful legs out of his mind. He kept trying to avoid looking, but the more he tried, the harder it became. Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong hung banners together.

While working, Jiang Ruosong suddenly heard Lorelei’s voice and dropped everything to look for her. Zhou Jieyue found this very strange and got angry, thinking someone was impersonating her, so she chased after him. Chai Ziyu stayed in the art room to paint. After helping him set up, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai left, leaving Chai Ziyu alone. Just then, a girl walked by and was deeply attracted by his painting. She came over and started a conversation.

Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai were decorating with balloons. Because Ye Qi had arranged everything in an orderly manner, Zuo Qiandai felt very at ease. Earlier, in a moment of panic, someone had gotten on the wrong bus. By the time Gu Zhengxing and Lu Dao realized it, it was too late—the bus wasn’t at a stop, so they couldn’t get off and had to keep going.

Jiang Ruosong finally found the person he had been dreaming of, only to discover that it was a man. He was very disappointed, but after some inner struggle, he decided to come clean with Lorelei. Meanwhile, Chai Ziyu followed the girl to a café for tea. Originally, he had gathered the courage to go back and continue painting the poster, but under her enthusiastic invitation, he found it hard to refuse.

Jiang Ruosong later realized that the person he had found wasn’t Lorelei but merely a fan of hers. The fan even played Lorelei’s song on their phone, which made Jiang Ruosong fall asleep on the spot. Zhou Jieyue thought Jiang Ruosong had been bullied, so she stepped in and gave the fan a lesson. Gu Zhengxing and Lu Dao finally got off the bus at the station. But when they tried to take the return bus, it had already left.

They had no choice but to wait for another half hour. After Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai finished decorating with balloons, they returned to the art room and saw that Chai Ziyu hadn’t finished painting. Zuo Qiandai wanted to take over herself, but Chai Ziyu hurried back in, feeling guilty and wanting to do it himself. In his rush, he accidentally spilled paint on the poster. Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong also returned to Zuo Qiandai.

Because of Zhou Jieyue’s aggressive reaction, the banner was ruined. Gu Zhengxing and Lu Dao also came back in a hurry. They had taken the wrong bus, and by the time they returned, the place they needed was already closed. In other words, none of the tasks were completed. Zuo Qiandai was very frustrated. But Ye Qi came up with an alternate plan. When he first made the schedule, he had already anticipated that unexpected things might happen.

Ye Qi first proposed a way to salvage the poster, which was accepted by everyone. Then he assigned the remaining tasks again, and everyone quickly got to work. After a night of effort, all the tasks were finally completed successfully. Early the next morning, everyone was so exhausted from the night’s work that they fell asleep on their desks. Zuo Qiandai looked at her tired friends and felt very comforted, especially when she saw Ye Qi.

Her heart was filled with gratitude. She quietly walked over to Ye Qi, leaned close to his ear, and whispered “thank you. ” At that moment, she happened to find the registration form for the sports meet in Ye Qi’s bag.

Episode 21 Recap

Zuo Qiandai found out that Ye Qi was going to participate in the school sports meet. Worried that other girls might develop feelings for Ye Qi and snatch him away, she called her best friend. Lu Li was still unable to get into the acting mood and felt deeply guilty. Since it was already performance time, there was no way to find someone who both understood the script and had stage experience in such a short time.

So Ye Qi suggested that when Lu Li spoke, Lu Dao would sing to cover for her. Lu Dao then went to Zuo Qiandai and Zhou Jieyue for help practicing her singing. Lu Dao was very talented and sounded beautiful when she sang. Upon hearing her voice, Gu Zhengxing became very excited and immediately pushed open the door—only to find a girl standing by the door stuffing a light bulb into her mouth.

Everyone panicked and suggested going to the hospital immediately, but Zhou Jieyue was nonchalant, saying they could just take the light bulb out directly and even demonstrated herself. In the end, she went along to the hospital where the doctor helped remove it. After seeing the doctor, Gu Zhengxing, moved by Lu Dao’s beautiful voice, asked to hear her sing again. Lu Dao, claiming her throat had been affected from earlier, brushed him off.

The day of the performance finally arrived, and Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai, and a few good friends came to watch Lu Dao. Her performance on stage amazed everyone. But just as Lu Li was about to perform, she suddenly felt unwell and fainted, causing everyone to panic. Zuo Qiandai, unaware of what was happening backstage, continued her lines onstage and waited for Lu Li’s cue to appear, but no one came out.

Everyone thought it was a stage mishap, and Lu Dao grew very anxious. After repeating the cue line several times, someone finally appeared—and to Lu Dao’s astonishment, it was Gu Zhengxing. Seeing that no one could take the part, Gu Zhengxing had taken it upon himself to step in. He had made up his mind never to let Lu Dao get hurt again.

Lu Dao was ready to bear the pain, even if it meant getting hurt for Gu Zhengxing’s sake. The performance was perfect and received unanimous praise from the audience. After the show, Lu Dao chatted with her sister and learned that Lu Li had pretended to faint on purpose. She knew that in an emergency like this, only Gu Zhengxing could step up. Since Lu Dao didn’t get hurt, Lu Li believed she was Gu Zhengxing’s destined one.

The next day, the school sports meet officially began. Afraid that Ye Qi would catch other girls' attention on the field, Zuo Qiandai deliberately made him drink lots of water. When Ye Qi went to the bathroom, she secretly swapped his shoes with a pair that was too small. The tight shoes made Ye Qi very uncomfortable, but he didn’t hesitate as he rushed to compete.

When he got to the starting line, the tight shoes made his feet hurt so badly that his odd movements looked professional to the onlooking girls. When the race began, his pace wasn’t great at first and his posture looked bizarre. But in an unexpected twist, trying to relieve his foot pain made Ye Qi pick up speed and surpass everyone, finishing first.

Many girls admired him and ran over to congratulate him, leaving Zuo Qiandai awkward and frustrated that her carefully laid plans had backfired. In other events, Zuo Qiandai also tried various tricks, but ironically they only drew more attention to Ye Qi.

Episode 22 Recap

Ye Qi got injured during the sports meet because of Zuo Qiandai’s worries. Feeling guilty, Zuo Qiandai bought many things to take care of him and even insisted on cooking for him. But the moment she mentioned cooking, Ye Qi got nervous—he had already experienced Zuo Qiandai’s cooking during a previous illness. Zuo Qiandai claimed that was just an accident and insisted on cooking again.

While cooking, due to her inexperience, the flames flared up, and she nearly fell but was caught by Ye Qi. It was the first time Zuo Qiandai felt the warmth of Ye Qi’s embrace. Ye Qi attended class with Zuo Qiandai. She had initially wanted to find someone else to take care of him but ended up troubling Ye Qi instead, which made her feel bad. She decided to do something for him—like taking notes.

But in a brief moment of distraction, the teacher had already filled the blackboard with functions. Zuo Qiandai didn’t even know where to start. Instead of writing notes, her mind drifted to romantic thoughts about her and Ye Qi, and she ended up sketching what looked like a Ferris wheel. Zuo Qiandai went to Zhou Jieyue to ask how she could make it up to Ye Qi. Zhou Jieyue told her to show genuine sincerity to touch Ye Qi’s heart.

To express her sincerity, Zuo Qiandai decided to make heart-shaped chocolates herself and even found someone to teach her. After making them, she worried it would seem too obvious, so she cut the heart shapes apart with a knife. Just as she happily set off to find Ye Qi, she wasn’t watching her step and bumped right into him, scattering the chocolates all over the ground, completely destroying their original shape.

Ye Qi helped her pick them up, and upon hearing they were for him, he popped one into his mouth and complimented the taste. Then, without thinking, he patted Zuo Qiandai’s head, leaving her completely enamored. Lu Dao, wearing a skirt that showed off her legs, found Gu Zhengxing and asked him to eat together. But Gu Zhengxing’s strange behavior made her think he was still basking in the joy of being back on stage.

He recalled the moment he shared with Lu Dao on stage and couldn’t focus during class, thinking of her constantly. After class, Lu Dao blocked his path. Both of them misunderstood each other and ended up saying things that made no sense to the other. Due to spending more time with Zhou Jieyue, Jiang Ruosong felt that his heart was being taken over by her. He wanted to confess to Lorelei quickly before he fell completely for Zhou Jieyue.

Just as he entered the music room, he heard Zhou Jieyue chatting inside and saying Lorelei was there. When he walked in, he saw Zhou Jieyue with two other girls and assumed one of them was Lorelei. He kept pressing the two girls to admit it, and Zhou Jieyue had no choice but to play a pre-recorded song. As soon as Jiang Ruosong heard Lorelei’s voice, he fell asleep. A few good friends went out for hot pot together.

During the meal, Chai Ziyu saw a post online about the best way to confess love and how to say “I love you. ” Ye Qi unintentionally realized that he might have feelings for Zuo Qiandai, though the thought passed quickly. On the way home after the meal, Ye Qi, after parting with Zuo Qiandai, suddenly realized he had already fallen for her without knowing it.

His mind was filled with memories of their moments together, and he wanted to catch up to her and confess. But when he finally did catch up, he still couldn’t say the words. Back at home, Ye Qi was preoccupied and ended up confiding in Chai Ziyu, who wasn’t surprised and even told Ye Qi that Zuo Qiandai liked him too, urging him to take the initiative.

Episode 23 Recap

Ye Qi planned to pursue Zuo Qiandai. Following the style of questions in the game, he wanted to create a romantic atmosphere and started by giving Zuo Qiandai flowers. However, when Zuo Qiandai first saw the flowers, she didn’t immediately think Ye Qi was trying to woo her. Instead, she thought he was playing a trick on her and suspected there was a fake hand hidden among the flowers.

After confirming there was no prank, she realized that Ye Qi genuinely wanted to give her the flowers. When she asked Ye Qi why he was giving her flowers, Ye Qi didn’t answer. Instead, he put a wristband on her that could monitor heart rate. Zuo Qiandai didn’t know what Ye Qi was trying to do and worried he might act recklessly, and then Ye Qi took her away.

Zhou Jieyue was getting ready to play basketball and happened to run into Jiang Ruosong. Jiang Ruosong was happy to see her but kept trying to suppress his feelings, afraid that Zhou Jieyue would occupy his heart and there would be no room left for Lorelei. Zhou Jieyue was confused by Jiang Ruosong’s behavior, thinking it was because of her that Jiang Ruosong was bullied by others, which made him keep his distance from her.

While playing basketball, Zhou Jieyue worried that Jiang Ruosong might still get bullied, so she didn’t pass the ball to him. But when she passed to others, her strength was too great and knocked the other players to the ground, leaving only Jiang Ruosong still standing on the court unharmed.

Zhou Jieyue wanted to treat everyone equally so that people wouldn't think Jiang Ruosong was bullied because of her favoritism, but her every move seemed strange to others, especially to Jiang Ruosong. Ye Qi wanted to create a romantic moment in the rain, so he walked on the playground with Zuo Qiandai under an umbrella.

But since it was sunny, they drew odd looks from people around them, and even Zuo Qiandai couldn’t understand what Ye Qi was trying to do. A senior girl was pursuing Chai Ziyu intensely, and Chai Ziyu, feeling flustered, sought help from Lu Dao. In order to reject the senior, Chai Ziyu asked Lu Dao to dress up as a girl and pretend to be his girlfriend.

However, Lu Dao’s behavior looked more like a man interacting with a woman than a girlfriend would, so Chai Ziyu decided to find another girl for help. Just then, Gu Zhengxing arrived, and Lu Dao gave him a "care card" to help him receive some care. Meanwhile, Chai Ziyu was walking when another "care card" flew over—this time from Zhou Jieyue.

Chai Ziyu immediately asked Zhou Jieyue for a favor, hoping she could pretend to be his girlfriend, which left Zhou Jieyue quite surprised. Ye Qi, trying to create a cosmic kind of romance with Zuo Qiandai, ended up disrupting the crew’s plans during filming, which made the director very angry. Zhou Jieyue dressed up like a lady to pretend to be Chai Ziyu’s girlfriend. Her transformation shocked Chai Ziyu.

Just as the favor ended, Jiang Ruosong happened to pass by, and her change in style truly stunned him. Learning that Zhou Jieyue had dressed up that way just to help Chai Ziyu pretend she was his girlfriend made Jiang Ruosong a little jealous. Ye Qi rode a bicycle with Zuo Qiandai on the back, aiming for a romantic vibe, but a school security guard caught them. He had to pedal hard to escape.

Zuo Qiandai happened to see a "favor card" in Ye Qi’s pocket and realized Ye Qi was trying to raise her affection level toward him, which made her very happy. The next day, Zuo Qiandai happily went to school and ran into Chai Ziyu. Chai Ziyu, showing concern, asked what had happened between her and Ye Qi. To avoid further complications, Zuo Qiandai pretended not to know anything, leaving Chai Ziyu completely confused.

However, Chai Ziyu ended up telling Ye Qi what Zuo Qiandai said, and Ye Qi, thinking he had made no impression, felt very disappointed. Chai Ziyu suggested Ye Qi use the excuse of gathering materials to probe Zuo Qiandai’s thoughts.

Episode 24 Recap

Ye Qi took Zuo Qiandai to a café, under the pretense of collecting material, but it was actually a date. Zuo Qiandai was secretly excited. Just as the two were about to enter the café, Chai Ziyu suddenly showed up. They guessed that it was Chai Ziyu’s first time in such a setting and that he had been waiting for them to arrive to muster up the courage to go in.

Being seen through made Chai Ziyu feel a little embarrassed. After the three entered the café, Ye Qi, still pretending to be collecting material, assigned roles to all three of them. Chai Ziyu suggested that Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai call each other by more intimate nicknames, and though both felt awkward, they complied.

Since Lu Dao had to act out the painful feeling of having a crush, Ye Qi helped her by suggesting she ignore Gu Zhengxing for three days to experience the pain. But before the three days were up, Lu Dao already felt the pain deeply. When she saw Gu Zhengxing, she quickly walked away. When it came time to order, Ye Qi assumed that most girls would eat lightly in front of their boyfriend to maintain their image.

However, Zuo Qiandai ordered a lot of food, which disappointed Ye Qi. He thought she didn’t want to date him and didn’t care about her image. Still, he took great care of her. In reality, Zuo Qiandai had deliberately ordered a lot to give Ye Qi more inspiration, and she forced herself to eat much more than usual. Both Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai tried to find each other’s good qualities.

Watching this, Chai Ziyu felt a bit awkward, but Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai were both delighted, feeling that they truly understood each other. Ye Qi suddenly asked Zuo Qiandai if she liked someone. Zuo Qiandai didn’t know how to answer, afraid that saying the wrong thing might lead to a misunderstanding. Just as she was about to respond, both Ye Qi and Chai Ziyu looked at her with anticipation. Suddenly, Zuo Qiandai felt nauseated and ran to the restroom.

While she was gone, Ye Qi and Chai Ziyu encountered a drunken Lu Dao. Seeing her in so much pain, Ye Qi realized she had already reached the emotional depth needed, so she no longer had to endure the full three days. Lu Dao, learning she could talk to Gu Zhengxing again, immediately rushed to the drama club to find him, only to run into Jiang Ruosong performing on stage. At first, Jiang Ruosong’s performance wasn’t very good.

Everyone encouraged him and even gave him a black blindfold to wear. After putting it on, Jiang Ruosong's performance became powerful and deeply moving, earning everyone's approval. However, the problem was that he couldn’t switch back to a normal role afterward, which worried everyone. Jiang Ruosong took the opportunity while still wearing the blindfold to find Zhou Jieyue. Just as he was about to distance himself from her, three male classmates suddenly tackled him.

His blindfold fell to the ground, and all his previous courage vanished. He no longer dared to speak to Zhou Jieyue like before. Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai sat in the stands, enjoying the evening breeze. After a full day, Ye Qi had gathered a lot of new material. While they were discussing it, Ye Qi suddenly asked what kind of story the two of them were in.

Zuo Qiandai’s heart skipped a beat, and even the heart rate monitor bracelet she wore started going off. She quickly took it off and ran away, while Ye Qi thought her heart was racing because she had eaten too many sweets. That night, back at home, Ye Qi was inspired by a sweet romantic drama and decided that to be with Zuo Qiandai forever, he first had to stay healthy.

He became very concerned about Zuo Qiandai’s health, constantly checking on her. But his attention made Zuo Qiandai feel awkward. His concern came day and night, leaving Zuo Qiandai sleep-deprived and with dark circles under her eyes—ironically making her less healthy.

Episode 25 Recap

Because Ye Qi was taking Zuo Qiandai for a medical checkup, Zuo Qiandai became very anxious. In order to present her most perfect self in front of Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai hadn’t told Ye Qi the truth about many things—for example, her actual height and the fact that she wore contact lenses. If she had a physical exam, she would definitely be exposed. While Zuo Qiandai was worrying, Chai Ziyu also called.

He was also going for a checkup, so the two of them agreed to help each other muddle through during the exam the next day. The next day, Ye Qi took Zuo Qiandai to the hospital for the checkup. Once there, Zuo Qiandai hesitated the whole time. When it came time for the vision test, Zuo Qiandai deliberately let Ye Qi go first. Ye Qi had excellent eyesight.

But when it was Zuo Qiandai’s turn, her contact lens fell out, and she couldn’t see clearly at all. After the checkup, Zuo Qiandai had some minor health issues. She tried to brush them off, but Ye Qi was concerned that even small problems could affect her overall health, so he decided to help her improve her health. During class, he even brought her healthy food.

At first, Zuo Qiandai was happy, but when she saw that all the food Ye Qi brought was carrots, she could only feel helpless. Ye Qi took Zuo Qiandai to the rooftop to do vision training. Coincidentally, Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong also came up, creating an awkward atmosphere between Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai. Wanting Zuo Qiandai to be healthier, Ye Qi planned to take her to the gym and even got two membership cards.

But it turned out the gym was a scam—it had never even opened, and many people were there to complain. After following Ye Qi around all day, Zuo Qiandai was so tired that she wanted a cup of milk tea. But Ye Qi firmly refused because she had cavities and shouldn’t be drinking milk tea.

That evening, when they returned home, Ye Qi wanted to make a healthy milk tea for Zuo Qiandai, so he called Gu Zhengxing over to help with the experiment. However, the milk tea didn’t taste good. Meanwhile, Zhou Jieyue’s cat went missing. She searched everywhere and even called Jiang Ruosong. By the time Jiang Ruosong arrived, Zhou Jieyue was already very upset. The two of them searched together and finally, after many difficulties, found the cat.

Seeing the cat again made Zhou Jieyue very happy. Jiang Ruosong saw what a great personality Zhou Jieyue had and, after struggling with his emotions, realized that she was truly the one he liked. So he confessed his feelings to her. At first, Zhou Jieyue was flustered, but in the end, she gathered her courage and threw herself into Jiang Ruosong’s arms, and they kissed.

Ye Qi continued working out with Zuo Qiandai and even specially made her “toad milk tea,” telling her it was a carefully crafted healthy drink. Zuo Qiandai was delighted. Because of her cavities, Ye Qi had used very little sugar and promised her that once her teeth were healed, he would add more. But Zuo Qiandai already found the milk tea sweet enough and didn’t want any extra sugar. Ye Qi immediately wrote down her preferences in his notebook.

Episode 26 Recap

Zhou Jieyue told Zuo Qiandai about her romantic story with Jiang Ruosong. Upon hearing Zhou Jieyue’s bravery, Zuo Qiandai was filled with admiration. Zhou Jieyue thought Zuo Qiandai and Ye Qi were going back and forth too much, and that simply expressing mutual affection wasn’t so hard. Zuo Qiandai recalled the times she had tried to confess to Ye Qi but never had the courage to say the words. Sometimes she was even interrupted by other things.

Zuo Qiandai found an empty spot on the playground and practiced confessing to Ye Qi, but the words “I like you” were still hard to say. At the same time, Ye Qi was also at home thinking about how to confess to Zuo Qiandai. He had tried once before but ended up saying something else out of embarrassment. So he too gathered his courage and planned to confess to Zuo Qiandai.

Just as Ye Qi was about to go find Zuo Qiandai, Chai Ziyu couldn’t find him and guessed that Ye Qi was going to confess. He wanted to help, but Ye Qi felt that every time he failed to confess to Zuo Qiandai, it was because Chai Ziyu had gotten in the way, so he didn’t want Chai Ziyu involved again. Chai Ziyu told Ye Qi that Zhou Jieyue had confessed to Jiang Ruosong.

Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong were playing basketball together. Just as a basketball came flying toward Jiang Ruosong, Zhou Jieyue feared he would get hurt and used her head to block the ball for him. Ye Qi arrived at the court and found Jiang Ruosong, asking him how to confess to a girl.

After getting advice, Ye Qi mistakenly believed that Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong were already a couple, so he told Jiang Ruosong that Zhou Jieyue was actually Lorelei. This made Jiang Ruosong hesitate again, and when he saw Zhou Jieyue afterward, he turned and ran away. Lu Dao had to wear women’s clothing for a performance, which excited her many fans—they wanted to see what she looked like in costume.

After Lu Dao appeared in full makeup and attire, she stunned everyone. Gu Zhengxing happened to arrive and saw Lu Dao’s look. Ye Qi thought Gu Zhengxing would compliment her, but instead Gu Zhengxing said Lu Dao didn’t suit the girly outfit. Ye Qi continued to ask others for advice on how to confess. While he was carefully seeking guidance, Zuo Qiandai was also meticulously preparing a romantic setting.

She planned to invite Ye Qi to dinner that evening and confess to him. Just as she finished setting everything up, Ye Qi called her twice. As soon as they connected, both of them were trying to invite the other out, and in the end, Zuo Qiandai was the first to ask Ye Qi to meet up. After getting home, Zuo Qiandai pulled out all her clothes, wanting to dress formally to catch Ye Qi’s attention at a glance.

At the restaurant, Zuo Qiandai realized that the entire menu was in English, and she couldn’t understand it. Ye Qi noticed her awkwardness and took the initiative to order for both of them. Ye Qi wanted to take Zuo Qiandai to a romantic spot he had prepared, but Zuo Qiandai was waiting for a romantic scene to appear so she could confess. When they finally crossed paths, Zuo Qiandai’s setup was revealed.

Just as she was about to confess in that romantic atmosphere, Ye Qi suddenly pulled her away. He was about to confess to her when Gong Jian called with an urgent matter. Ye Qi had no choice but to rush over, and once again, the two of them missed the chance to confess.

Episode 27 Recap

Ye Qi hurried to the café where he was supposed to meet Gong Jian, only to find out that Gong Jian had already been fired by Qian Ye. Ye Qi couldn’t understand this and wanted to go confront Abyss on Gong Jian’s behalf, but Gong Jian didn’t want to hinder Ye Qi’s future and told him not to stop updating his comic, then turned and left. Ye Qi quickly found Qian Ye and asked why he had done this.

Qian Ye showed him the online comments about the comics Gong Jian was responsible for, which were mostly negative, and the performance was poor. Only the comic drawn by Ye Qi had just barely passed the acceptable line. In a fit of anger, Ye Qi even considered giving up. However, he had already signed a contract with the publishing house.

If he stopped drawing, it would be considered a breach of contract, and he would have to pay a high penalty. At that moment, Gong Jian also sent a message encouraging Ye Qi to keep drawing and not stop updating. Ye Qi negotiated with Qian Ye, agreeing to continue the comic following Qian Ye’s direction, with the only condition being that Gong Jian be allowed to return to work. Qian Ye readily agreed.

Zuo Qiandai told Zhou Jieyue everything about the confession. She guessed that Ye Qi was also planning to confess but got interrupted. Zuo Qiandai then tried to find out the progress between Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong. Just as Zhou Jieyue and Zuo Qiandai were about to leave, Jiang Ruosong suddenly appeared and revealed that Zhou Jieyue was actually Lorelei. Ye Qi returned home, racking his brain trying to continue drawing the comic.

But because the story was completely different from his own ideas, he couldn’t come up with any lines for the characters. Zuo Qiandai came to find Ye Qi and discovered that he was working on his comic. She guessed that Ye Qi might be facing a creative block and was in low spirits, so she worried about him.

Seeing that Zuo Qiandai looked gloomy, Ye Qi thought she was angry because he had left suddenly and wanted to apologize, but Zuo Qiandai stopped him. To help Ye Qi find inspiration, Zuo Qiandai deliberately acted cool and said nothing, using gestures to express herself. With Zuo Qiandai’s help, Ye Qi indeed found some inspiration. After a whole day of hard work, Zuo Qiandai left for home.

Just then, senior You Li also sent a message to Ye Qi, saying she had heard about him leaving the editorial department and terminating the contract with Qian Ye, and that she wanted to follow Ye Qi. Concerned, Ye Qi rushed to You Li’s home to ask her about it. You Li was packing and had already decided to leave, even if it meant paying the penalty fee—she was determined.

After being fired, Gong Jian kept looking for a job but hadn’t found a suitable one. Ye Qi went to visit Gong Jian and followed him to his home. Gong Jian’s grandmother didn’t even know he had been fired and still thought he was working. Ye Qi handed the new manuscript to Qian Ye, but Qian Ye didn’t fulfill his promise to bring Gong Jian back. This angered Ye Qi.

Zuo Qiandai also learned from Chai Ziyu that Ye Qi had gone to submit his work today. Worried that things might not go smoothly for Ye Qi, she checked her phone and found that Ye Qi’s comic had already stopped updating. Zuo Qiandai, along with Chai Ziyu, Gu Zhengxing, and Jiang Ruosong, went to Ye Qi’s home to look for him, afraid something had happened.

Jiang Ruosong analyzed that Ye Qi might have been kidnapped and said the kidnapper would call soon. Just as he finished speaking, someone called Zuo Qiandai—but it turned out to be a scam call. Zuo Qiandai dialed the landline number Ye Qi had left behind, which was Ye Qi’s home number, but Ye Qi wasn’t there. She asked about the halted comic updates and finally learned the reason. Everyone supported Ye Qi’s decision, and he also left the payment for them.

Episode 28 Recap

Everyone felt sorry for Ye Qi. Chai Ziyu decided to go buy some figurines to lift the mood, Jiang Ruosong went to find Zhou Jieyue, while Gu Zhengxing pretended to be indifferent, claiming he had faced many setbacks before and this didn’t affect him much—but in reality, he was deeply troubled. When Gu Zhengxing returned to the drama club, he couldn’t concentrate.

Lu Dao decided to modify the script and perform it for Gu Zhengxing, but he wasn’t in the mood to watch and brushed off Lu Dao’s suggestions. However, Lu Dao remained confident, which brought great comfort to Gu Zhengxing. Jiang Ruosong wanted to join the music club, but the members rejected him because he wasn’t a good singer. He even brought Zhou Jieyue along—his real intention was just to seek some emotional comfort from her.

Meanwhile, Zuo Qiandai was still worried about Ye Qi and eventually found Chai Ziyu, asking him to take her to Ye Qi’s parents. At first, Chai Ziyu was hesitant, but when Zuo Qiandai took out a figurine he liked, he happily agreed. When Zuo Qiandai arrived at Ye Qi’s home, she was nervous and unsure how to face his parents and whether they would accept her. However, it was Ye Qi’s younger brother who answered the door—his parents weren’t home.

After meeting Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai learned some things about the editorial department from him. To encourage Ye Qi, she changed into a sailor outfit she had carefully prepared. Her encouragement reignited Ye Qi’s fighting spirit, and he decided to take down Qian Ye. While Zuo Qiandai was dancing for Ye Qi, she didn’t notice that Ye Qi’s parents were right behind her.

They had also learned about Ye Qi’s current situation and believed that Qian Ye was bullying their son. While everyone discussed it over dinner, Ye Qi’s parents gave their input, but even after the meal, they couldn’t come up with a good plan for revenge. Zuo Qiandai suggested that taking revenge on others was wrong in itself, so they changed the topic. Since Ye Qi had left the editorial department, he needed a comeback.

He couldn’t use any of the previous comics because of the contract, and the original material was also unusable. Zuo Qiandai suggested changing the theme of the meeting to focus on what kind of comic Ye Qi should create for his comeback. Ye Qi’s father proposed a story about gangs, thinking it would be attractive, but after Ye Qi drew a draft, everyone thought it wasn’t appropriate.

His mother suggested a story about modern office workers, but when Ye Qi drew that, it didn’t inspire any interest either. Since it was about working people, it ended up feeling depressing. His younger brother suggested that Ye Qi return to his original passion—the comic he initially wanted to draw. However, Ye Qi had completely lost touch with that mindset. All his current inspiration was for shoujo manga, and he couldn’t recreate his past feelings, so he couldn’t draw it.

Ye Qi became upset and didn’t know what to do, so he decided to go out for a walk to clear his mind. Zuo Qiandai went with him, and the two of them walked along a riverside path in the countryside. The scenery was beautiful. As they walked, they unknowingly arrived at Ye Qi’s elementary school. Ye Qi wanted to go inside, but since it was nighttime, the gates were locked.

Fortunately, the security guard recognized him and warmly let Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai in. They sat on the swings in the playground, chatting while swinging, and recalled Ye Qi’s original motivation for drawing comics. Back in elementary school, both of them had been outsiders—Ye Qi for being too tall and Zuo Qiandai for being too short. Because of their shared experiences, they understood each other’s feelings deeply.

Zuo Qiandai suggested that Ye Qi draw what he loved most in his heart. Ye Qi still couldn’t let go of shoujo manga. Zuo Qiandai encouraged him to start drawing again. Ye Qi was still struggling with the contract issue, thinking that since he had signed a non-compete agreement, he couldn’t just draw anything. Zuo Qiandai reminded him that he had already paid the penalty, and the rights to the comic had returned to him.

Episode 29 Recap

Ye Qi was preparing to return to school and resume creating, and his parents continued to encourage him. On Gu Zhengxing’s side, he was rehearsing with Lu Dao. Worried that he might develop romantic feelings for Lu Dao, Gu Zhengxing deliberately avoided her and didn’t meet her gaze. Zhou Jieyue and Jiang Ruosong were also encouraging each other on the basketball court. Just after Jiang Ruosong finished a game, Zhou Jieyue immediately brought him iced water.

Just as she was about to hand it to him, Ye Qi finished a phone call, and Jiang Ruosong hurriedly left. Zhou Jieyue's hand missed the water and she became quite upset. Ye Qi gathered everyone again and told them they were restarting the project. This time, to save paper and avoid waste, they decided to use a digital tablet for drawing.

Ye Qi began creating again, but due to his outdated computer, it couldn’t connect properly with the tablet and nothing displayed on the screen. Anxious, Ye Qi called Zuo Qiandai. After learning the reason, Ye Qi didn’t know what to do—since it was already late, he couldn’t buy a new computer, and he was feeling particularly inspired at that moment. Zuo Qiandai casually suggested Ye Qi come to her house, since her computer had better specs.

Only after hanging up did Zuo Qiandai realize it was very late, and she had rather casually invited Ye Qi over. Since Ye Qi wasn’t familiar with drawing using a digital tablet, Zuo Qiandai patiently taught him step by step. Unconsciously, their faces got very close, and their eyes met. Just as the atmosphere was building, the computer suddenly chimed, breaking the stillness. Zuo Qiandai quickly excused herself to pour water for Ye Qi.

The previous moment sparked Ye Qi’s inspiration, and the character he drew ended up resembling Zuo Qiandai. The next day, when Ye Qi resumed work with everyone, Zuo Qiandai noticed the character he created and was surprised—it did resemble her somewhat. Thanks to everyone’s effort, Ye Qi’s first independent comic was completed. Excited, he uploaded it online. Just as everyone was watching the screen, thrilled to upload the comic, Lu Dao and Zhou Jieyue walked in with takeout.

Zhou Jieyue was puzzled about why everyone seemed so sneaky. Upon seeing the computer screen, she was the first to lead everyone in uploading the work. However, Ye Qi’s comic didn’t go viral as expected—the click rate was low. The anxiety caused Ye Qi to suffer from insomnia. Everyone tried to help Ye Qi sleep so he could rest properly. Despite trying various methods, nothing worked. Only Zuo Qiandai and the already asleep Jiang Ruosong remained.

Alone in a room with a man, especially with Ye Qi lying in bed, gave Zuo Qiandai some improper thoughts. Ye Qi also tried different methods to fall asleep and remembered how his mother used to sing the "Hero Song" to him when he was a child. Zuo Qiandai decided to try it. She sang the song and indeed lulled Ye Qi to sleep.

Looking at the sleeping Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai wished time could stop, and that they could simply stay like this, with her watching over him. That night, Zuo Qiandai went to the living room and heard a sound from the computer. When she turned on the screen, she was completely shocked.

Episode 30 Recap

Zuo Qiandai couldn’t wait to find Ye Qi and tell him that his uploaded comic had gone viral online. At first, Ye Qi didn’t believe it, but when he saw the phone Zuo Qiandai handed him, he was delighted. However, he still couldn’t get up, thinking he was experiencing sleep paralysis. When he lifted the blanket, he saw Qian Ye was lying on top of him. Ye Qi screamed in fear—then woke up. It had all been a dream.

When Ye Qi opened his eyes, he saw Zuo Qiandai in the living room with a phone, telling him that his comic had gone viral. Noticing how similar this was to his dream, Ye Qi nervously lifted the blanket, only to find Chai Ziyu inside. He finally relaxed. While walking on the street, Ye Qi received a message from Gong Jian saying he had found a job, and that Ye Qi didn’t need to worry.

Still unsure if he was dreaming, Ye Qi decided to indulge himself and dressed up very coolly. Seeing a group of girls cheering, he thought they were impressed by his looks—only to realize they were actually admiring Lu Dao. Ye Qi went to the basketball court, and his appearance there excited Jiang Ruosong and his classmates. They were also captivated by Ye Qi’s transformation.

During the game, Ye Qi passed the ball to Jiang Ruosong, who, distracted by Ye Qi, wasn’t ready to catch it. Zhou Jieyue stepped in just in time to save him from being hit by the ball. Ye Qi mustered his courage and went to the comic club, hoping to be a model for the girls, but none of them were interested, and he left feeling dejected.

Zuo Qiandai, who was moving things, overheard classmates talking about someone pretending to be a bad boy. When she later met Ye Qi, he admitted all those personas were his idea, which surprised her. Ye Qi returned to the comic club with Zuo Qiandai. The girls, seeing how sincere he was, warmed up to him. To gather material, Ye Qi asked them about their ideal types. Just then, Lu Dao arrived and joined the discussion.

Gu Zhengxing, outside, overheard Lu Dao’s comments. With the material in hand, Ye Qi returned home to start creating and invited Zuo Qiandai to help that evening. Once home, Ye Qi carefully prepared everything to welcome her. Zuo Qiandai arrived excitedly with a new publishing contract and also invited Gong Jian to help with operations—this meant Ye Qi’s comic would now have professional support, making future promotion easier.

The next day, Ye Qi remembered all the ridiculous things he had done, especially talking about ideal types in the comic club—since everything he said was true, he worried that Zuo Qiandai would find it embarrassing and asked the club president to keep it a secret. Because the comic had performed well, Ye Qi was invited to a comic exhibition. Zuo Qiandai also learned from clubmates that Ye Qi liked her and was overjoyed.

Zuo Qiandai came to Ye Qi’s house in high spirits but learned some bad news: someone had deliberately sabotaged Ye Qi’s data and even defamed him online. If this continued, it could affect his comic’s eligibility for the exhibition. Everyone brainstormed ways to fight back against those harming the comic, but Zuo Qiandai’s idea proved the most practical. Once she put it into action, everyone felt relieved and left, leaving Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai alone.

Zuo Qiandai thought Ye Qi might confess to her, but when he didn’t, she quickly left. Later that night, Zuo Qiandai saw malicious comments still being posted. After investigating, she discovered the person behind the slander was none other than Qian Ye.

Episode 31 Recap

Zuo Qiandai’s crisis management was a great success. She quickly helped Ye Qi resolve his crisis. Moreover, thanks to Zuo Qiandai’s successful counterattack, the comic exhibition also took a keen interest in Ye Qi. However, the comic exhibition typically only features major serialized works, and Ye Qi’s comic had just started with very few chapters. Gong Jian hoped Ye Qi could work a little harder to publish more during this period so he’d be qualified to join the exhibition.

But since the final exams were approaching, Ye Qi had to prioritize his studies, and Gong Jian couldn’t do much about it. To avoid falling behind in his studies while also meeting his deadlines, Ye Qi, Zuo Qiandai, and Chai Ziyu worked together to find a solution. The three of them discussed how to study more efficiently in the library and happened to spot a top student.

They approached him for shortcuts in exam prep, but couldn’t understand a word of what he said. After leaving the library, the three were still confused. Ye Qi cherished the time he spent brainstorming plots with the other two. Prompted by Chai Ziyu, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai recalled an old storyline they could use and quickly went to retrieve it.

It turned out the script they had in mind had previously been rejected not because it was bad, but because Qian Ye had been too autocratic. Everyone began modifying the old script. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, Ye Qi’s comic updated continuously and reached the required submission count. When finals were finally over, everyone relaxed.

Zhou Jieyue complained to Zuo Qiandai that Jiang Ruosong had changed her game password without her permission out of concern for her health, which made her furious. As she was venting, Jiang Ruosong ran over to apologize. Although Zhou Jieyue insisted she wouldn’t forgive him, in truth, she had already accepted his apology in her heart. Lu Dao approached Gu Zhengxing and suggested they go on a trip together during the break.

Gu Zhengxing told her about working on the comic with Ye Qi’s team and said they were planning to attend the comic exhibition together. Ye Qi was also preparing gifts for fans with the group. To keep up with Gu Zhengxing, Lu Dao began reading Ye Qi’s comics to understand the content and have more in common with him. Zhou Jieyue visited Ye Qi’s house looking for Jiang Ruosong, but he wasn’t there.

She complained to everyone that Jiang Ruosong limited her to playing games for only three hours a day. Everyone advised her to be more understanding, and Ye Qi even suggested making a Jiang Ruosong doll for her to carry around. As the comic exhibition neared, a new problem emerged. Since Ye Qi’s comic was in the shoujo (girl’s) genre, the promotion had intentionally portrayed the author as resembling a teenage girl.

If fans found out on the meet-and-greet day that the author was actually a man, many would be disappointed. So, everyone discussed how to handle the situation. Lu Dao excitedly brought a cake for Gu Zhengxing, having added brandy to improve the flavor. Ye Qi couldn’t hold his liquor and got completely drunk after just a bit. In his drunken state, Gu Zhengxing blurted out how much Lu Dao meant to him and revealed his true feelings.

Lu Dao was deeply moved. That evening, Ye Qi walked Zuo Qiandai home. They strolled and chatted, encouraging each other. The next day, Ye Qi invited his buddies to his house.

Episode 32 Recap

Just as Ye Qi and the others were about to leave for the comic exhibition, Gu Zhengxing showed up and said he couldn’t go. Lu Dao was surprised. Gu Zhengxing explained that he was waiting for the gifts to arrive and would go once they did. Everyone believed him, but as they were leaving, Gu Zhengxing leaned in and whispered to Ye Qi that everything was going according to plan.

Jiang Ruosong had just finished a basketball game but was distracted the entire time. His classmates thought he was thinking about Zhou Jieyue, but Jiang Ruosong insisted otherwise. At that moment, two girls from the music club were struggling with heavy luggage. To prove himself, Jiang Ruosong offered to help, but the girls—who knew Zhou Jieyue—mistook his actions as cheating on her and labeled him a player.

Representatives from the comic exhibition came to pick up the team and initially assumed Zuo Qiandai was the author. It was only after introductions that they realized Ye Qi was the actual creator. Due to the number of attendees, only official authors could stay at luxury hotels, while assistants had to stay in more modest accommodations. After settling into her hotel, Zuo Qiandai sent Ye Qi a video and found his hotel conditions were about the same.

As they were talking, there was a knock on her door—Ye Qi was standing outside. The group went to a street stall for barbecue. The next day, they went to a lake. At the most romantic moment, Ye Qi gathered his courage to confess to Zuo Qiandai, but was interrupted by Chai Ziyu. Frustrated by constant interruptions, Ye Qi decided to buy two charms from a roadside vendor that supposedly prevented interruptions during confessions.

Chai Ziyu thought the charms were silly, but the girls loved them—especially Zuo Qiandai. Just as everyone was enjoying themselves, the comic exhibition team notified Ye Qi that he was needed at a networking event. Jiang Ruosong was still down because of Zhou Jieyue. Though Chai Ziyu advised him not to be the first to apologize, he didn’t know what to do. Gu Zhengxing noticed Jiang Ruosong’s gloominess and tried to cheer him up.

Zuo Qiandai, meanwhile, climbed a tree but got scared and couldn’t come down. She tried calling Ye Qi, but he was busy at the event, so she called Chai Ziyu. He tried to share his own “stuck in a tree” experience, but Zuo Qiandai accidentally dropped her phone. Jiang Ruosong remained distracted even while playing basketball, leading to frequent turnovers. His teammates noticed something was off and let him leave early.

Ye Qi found the spot where Zuo Qiandai had gone to sketch and saw her stuck in a tree. He stood below and told her to jump into his arms. She fell right on top of him. The two stared at each other, flustered and excited. Zuo Qiandai tried to speak to ease the awkwardness, but Ye Qi suddenly hugged her. They quickly separated but were both very happy inside.

Lu Dao, following Gu Zhengxing’s instructions, went looking for the tree he had described and even sent him a photo. On the way back to the hotel, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai didn’t know what to say, and the atmosphere turned quiet. But both were thrilled. When an accident happened on the road, Ye Qi instinctively grabbed Zuo Qiandai’s hand to protect her. She didn’t pull away and simply followed quietly.

Episode 33 (Ending) Recap

The comic exhibition was about to begin, and everyone was setting up. But Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai were nowhere to be seen. After the setup was done, the others began wandering around. Zhou Jieyue dragged Jiang Ruosong along through the stalls. That left only Lu Dao, Gu Zhengxing, and Gong Jian at the booth. Some fans mistook Lu Dao for the author. Gu Zhengxing had to explain that the real author would arrive in thirty minutes.

Many fans, mostly girls, were already gathered around the booth waiting to meet the author. To avoid disappointing them, Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai staged a little trick. They used an oversized coat to cover themselves, with Ye Qi hidden inside and Zuo Qiandai visible on top. When signing autographs, they used Ye Qi’s hand, so it wasn’t entirely deceiving the fans. Qian Ye also showed up at the exhibition, but his booth had no visitors. He was furious.

When he saw the huge crowd at Ye Qi’s booth, he tried to expose the ruse between Ye Qi and Zuo Qiandai. He thought revealing that Ye Qi was the real author would make the female fans leave in disappointment, ruining Ye Qi’s reputation. However, Ye Qi skillfully turned the situation around. He explained that the comic was not just his work—it was the result of everyone’s effort, including Zuo Qiandai. His sincerity moved the fans.

Zuo Qiandai’s presence even made them feel the mysterious author was more relatable. On the contrary, Qian Ye was met with backlash. Many attendees called for Qian Ye to be banned from the comic community. That night, under the spotlight and surrounded by fans, Ye Qi gave a speech to express his gratitude. When Zuo Qiandai heard it, she thought he was about to confess to her, especially as he talked about all the experiences they had shared.

Her heart beat fast in anticipation of the romantic moment. But in the end, Ye Qi confessed—not to her, but to Gong Jian, thanking him for his long-time support in such an important moment. Though disappointed, Zuo Qiandai was happy for Ye Qi’s success and knew everything had to move forward. Back at school, she entered a classroom to find it covered with drawings that depicted all her shared experiences with Ye Qi—from sweet, romantic moments to comical mishaps.

Seeing all those memories together made her feel their story was truly beautiful. When she saw the final panel—set on the Ferris wheel with the line she had long waited for—tears of happiness welled up in her eyes. Ye Qi slowly entered the classroom and finally confessed his feelings. Zuo Qiandai confessed as well. The two who had loved each other for so long could now be honest and open, no longer afraid of rejection or misunderstanding.

Flashback to two years ago—Zuo Qiandai had taken the wrong bus and arrived late at school to find the gates already locked. She had to climb the wall and happened to see Ye Qi there too. Both had been late on the first day of school—that was their first encounter. From that moment, Zuo Qiandai had fallen for Ye Qi and thought of him as a delinquent who never arrived on time. Their fates had been entwined ever since.
