Tears In Heaven Episode 37 Recap
> Tears In Heaven Recap
Jiang Jin instructed Lei Yuzheng to issue a public statement to address the Hengshan Group's acquisition of Yutian. At the press conference, Lei Yuzheng announced the board's decision: they would accept benevolent acquisitions but would pursue legal action against any malicious takeover attempts. His impassioned speech resonated widely. Immediately after the press conference, Mr. Yu called Lin Xiangyuan, accusing him of bad faith.
Lin Xiangyuan, infuriated, condemned Mr. Yu's ruthless tactics and severed ties, declaring that the terms of cooperation were his to decide. Mr. Yu, however, reminded him that they were in the same boat, having invested over a billion yuan, and warned him of consequences, mentioning his "hometown friend" was under their control.
Lin Xiangyuan retorted that he was no longer begging Mr. Yu and that he was happy to break off their relationship, telling him not to lecture him on how to conduct his business. Meanwhile, Lei Yuzheng flew to Malaysia to meet Uncle Lin.
Uncle Lin, who had been entrusted with a trust fund established by Lei Ting after Lei Yuzheng's mother passed away, returned the documents to Lei Yuzheng, stating it was now time for them to be returned to their rightful owner. Lei Yuzheng apologized for his father's death, but Uncle Lin reassured him it wasn't entirely his fault.
Uncle Lin spoke highly of Lei Ting, emphasizing his tolerance, even towards opponents, and urged Lei Yuzheng to embody these qualities as he took charge of Yutian, wishing him success in overcoming the current crisis. Lei Yuzheng confirmed the documents were in order and the fund was at his disposal, though he had not yet decided how to use it.
Declining Uncle Lin's offer to show him around Malaysia, Lei Yuzheng explained the urgency of the situation required him to return home that very day. Upon his return, Lei Yuzheng met Liu Siyang for dinner. They stayed up until the foreign stock markets opened in the early hours of the morning. Lei Yuzheng asked Liu Siyang to monitor SG's stock, noting its unusually rapid rise.
Liu Siyang quickly realized Lei Yuzheng was behind the strange stock movements, using his father's fund to acquire SG shares. She understood he was diverting attention and directly targeting Hengshan's backer, effectively "taking away their fuel." Liu Siyang was impressed by his strategy, remarking that Linton would not be able to tolerate this move. Lei Yuzheng then called Jiang Jin, advising him to instruct Yutian's security agent not to buy Yutian's stock if it dropped sharply the following day.
He promised to explain everything in two days. As predicted, Yutian's stock plummeted at market open. Xie Li rushed to Lin Xiangyuan, panicked. Lin Xiangyuan, however, feigned indifference, asking why Xie Li was worried about Yutian's stock when it was about to be acquired. He then accused Xie Li of secretly buying Yutian shares, which Xie Li denied, citing Lin Xiangyuan's prior instructions not to. Lin Xiangyuan believed him and let him leave.
Mr. Yu called Lin Xiangyuan, demanding an explanation for Yutian's stock plunge. Lin Xiangyuan again feigned ignorance, citing the inherent risks of the stock market. Mr. Yu reiterated his threats, urging Lin Xiangyuan to sell his Yutian shares and cooperate with the acquisition, promising him he'd lose more if he didn't give up Hengshan. Lin Xiangyuan defiantly stated that he chose Hengshan to improve Yutian, not to destroy it, and accused Mr. Yu and Hengshan of abusing his trust.
He also asserted that his current position was thanks to Lei Yuzheng, not Mr. Yu, and vowed to stand with Yutian. From abroad, Linton watched SG's stock continue to climb. He called Lei Yuzheng, urging him to show mercy. Lei Yuzheng acknowledged he was behind the acquisition of SG shares and declared his absolute determination to succeed. He reproached Linton for breaking their agreement and colluding with Hengshan Group to scheme against Yutian.
Linton expressed regret and proposed flying to Shanghai for a face-to-face meeting. Lei Yuzheng issued an ultimatum: Linton must cease cooperation with Hengshan Group immediately to cut his losses, or face dire consequences. A news report later broadcast Lei Yuzheng's statement to Linton: "Cut the loss and cut the capital with Hengshan; otherwise, that will be lose-lose situation. It's up to you." Lin Xiangyuan tried to call Xie Li, only to discover he had left without a word.
Meanwhile, Du Xiaosu was closely monitoring Yutian's stock. Zou Siqi, noticing her friend's preoccupation, revealed that Lei Yuzheng and Xu You were reportedly getting married, advising Du Xiaosu to move on. Du Xiaosu feigned indifference, claiming she was "done with him a long time ago," and that his happiness was her greatest wish, stating she only wanted to focus on her studio.
Zou Siqi, however, expressed her disbelief at Du Xiaosu's generosity, lamenting that if their love story ended this way, it would be a great pity, and urged her to seek clarification from Lei Yuzheng. He Qunfei was swamped with work, leaving no time for Zou Siqi. Annoyed, Zou Siqi insisted on meeting him, pressing for information on Lei Yuzheng's relationship with Xu You.
He Qunfei, unaware of any marriage plans, admitted that Xu You had been in close contact with Lei Yuzheng recently and had used her connections to help him significantly. Zou Siqi, sympathizing with Du Xiaosu, urged He Qunfei to discreetly inquire about Lei Yuzheng's true feelings for Du Xiaosu, but he refused, fearing for his job. At that moment, Lei Yuzheng called, instructing He Qunfei to return to the company immediately, cutting short his conversation with Zou Siqi.
Lei Yuzheng's efforts successfully saved Yutian. The shareholders enthusiastically welcomed his return. Linton conceded defeat to Lei Yuzheng, announcing the abandonment of Hengshan's acquisition plan, which was confirmed by a news report detailing Hengshan's withdrawal due to "unprecedented pressure and obstruction." The shareholders rejoiced and congratulated Lei Yuzheng. Lei Yuzheng thanked everyone for their support and courage, announcing his intention to dedicate all his energy to the Entertainment Center project, aiming for Yutian's reform and further development.
They all raised their glasses to celebrate. Lin Xiangyuan, after witnessing the scene, quietly left. Lei Yuzheng pursued him, inviting him to join the celebration of Yutian's rebirth. Lin Xiangyuan offered his sincere congratulations for Yutian's safety but declined to join. He Qunfei later reflected on Lei Yuzheng's generosity and broad-mindedness, a quality he deeply admired. Later, Du Xiaosu visited Lei Ting's grave.
She spoke to the tombstone, recalling Lei Ting affectionately calling her daughter-in-law and acknowledging her happiness at the time, despite his illness. She lamented that fate had been unkind and that it was time to let go of Lei Yuzheng, wishing him happiness now that he was supposedly married. Afterward, Lei Yuzheng and Shangguan Boyao also visited Lei Ting's tomb. Shangguan Boyao noticed a fresh bouquet of flowers and correctly deduced that Du Xiaosu had been there.
He commented on Du Xiaosu's devoted nature and her sadness at being kept in the dark about Lei Yuzheng's recent struggles, explaining her understandable coldness. Shangguan Boyao urged Lei Yuzheng to offer Du Xiaosu an explanation, emphasizing that men should be more proactive in love and questioning whether Lei Yuzheng truly intended to never see her again. Lei Yuzheng dismissed his friend's advice, asserting he was clear about his own affairs. Late that night, Lin Xiangyuan wandered the streets alone.
He called his mother, who was already in bed, to check in on her. His mother, concerned about his well-being and the cold weather in Shanghai, asked why he was calling so late. He told her he missed her and promised to return home that weekend. His mother then asked him to bring his wife, Jiang Fanlv, along, as she had never met her and had gifts to give. Lin Xiangyuan promised to bring Fanlv back with him. His mother reminded him to take good care of himself while away from home.
