Tears In Heaven Episode 34 Recap
> Tears In Heaven Recap
Jiang Jin, considering Jiang Fanlv's well-being, instructed Lin Xiangyuan to divorce her. Lin Xiangyuan, however, expressed his desire to care for Fanlv and only proceed with the divorce after her recovery. Jiang Jin, stating that Lin Xiangyuan should consider himself fortunate that Fanlv was unharmed, blamed him for her unhappiness and insisted that once Fanlv was discharged from the hospital, they should immediately proceed with the divorce.
He even offered to transfer the mutual shares he and Fanlv owned back to Lin Xiangyuan. Lin Xiangyuan, hurt by Jiang Jin's assumption, asserted he wasn't refusing divorce for the shares. He explained that Fanlv's doctor mentioned significant side effects from medication, necessitating constant care if she didn't take it. Jiang Jin, unmoved, cut him off and reiterated his demand for a swift divorce once Fanlv was out of the hospital.
Meanwhile, Zou Siqi saw intimate photos of Lei Yuzheng and Xu You online. She immediately called He Qunfei, asking if the rumors of them being together were true and accusing Lei Yuzheng of "investment diversification" in his relationships. He Qunfei, confused by the photos, didn't know how to explain, as these were Lei Yuzheng's deliberate attempt to keep Du Xiaosu away from troubles. He tried to dismiss them as gossip.
Zou Siqi, however, cited eight articles from City Entertainment with photographic evidence. She then urged He Qunfei to tell Lei Yuzheng not to hurt Du Xiaosu anymore, revealing that Du Xiaosu was sick. He Qunfei was taken aback by this news and quickly asked Lei Yuzheng about Du Xiaosu's condition, suggesting he call her. Lei Yuzheng speculated that Du Xiaosu's illness was likely anxiety-related and without a cure.
He Qunfei offered to call Xiaosu to clarify the photos, but Lei Yuzheng refused, emphasizing that their current presence in Guizhou must remain a secret from everyone, including Du Xiaosu. He Qunfei worried that the misunderstanding would not be rectified. Lin Xiangyuan specially prepared bamboo rice and porridge, Jiang Fanlv's favorite dishes, and patiently fed her, while Jiang Jin did not stop him.
After the meal, Lin Xiangyuan asked Jiang Jin if he could stay and care for Fanlv, but Jiang Jin firmly refused, once again urging him to divorce Fanlv as soon as possible. Later, Jiang Fanlv went downstairs and wanted to go out for a walk, with Lin Xiangyuan closely following her. Lei Yuzheng and He Qunfei traveled to Lin Xiangyuan's hometown in Guizhou.
They asked a local villager for directions to "Mr. Lin's house," learning that Lin Xiangyuan was affectionately known as "Scholar Lin," the village's only successful college graduate. The villager proudly spoke of Lin Xiangyuan's contributions, mentioning how he funded the construction of the village road and primary school, showcasing his continued remembrance of his roots. He also informed them that Lin Xiangyuan had bought a house in the city the previous year and his mother sometimes lived there.
Upon finding Lin Xiangyuan's house, they discovered a "Honor Wall" adorned with his certificates and awards. Lin Xiangyuan's mother soon returned home, and Lei Yuzheng, feigning exhaustion from travel, asked for water. While Lin's mother prepared lunch, Lei Yuzheng noticed a photo on the wall and recognized Li Lu, realizing he was a classmate of Lin Xiangyuan.
Fearing they might alert Lin Xiangyuan if they stayed, Lei Yuzheng decided they had to leave immediately, despite Lin's mother's enthusiastic offer of a meal. He Qunfei expressed regret over disappointing her, but Lei Yuzheng insisted, concerned about Li Lu's family. He Qunfei, reflecting on Lin Xiangyuan's generosity to his village, questioned Lei Yuzheng's earlier harsh judgment of him.
Lei Yuzheng conceded that Lin Xiangyuan might not be entirely bad, noting his efforts to inspire children in his village through education and success. He also deduced that Lin Xiangyuan kept his mother in the village as she was his greatest weakness, strategically shielding her from the turbulent affairs of his life in Shanghai, a reasoning he implied he applied to his own actions with Du Xiaosu.
Later, Jiang Fanlv went to a bar and drank, with Lin Xiangyuan closely following her. She told him to stop, saying she was not sick and didn't need saving. She insisted they finalize the divorce, stating that once they were divorced, he would no longer be bound by her father's wishes. Lin Xiangyuan, however, explained that he cared for her not to salvage their relationship, but because she was family.
He expressed deep regret for not cherishing her, recalling his early career aspirations and the profound sadness he felt after her miscarriage. He yearned to walk with her forever and said he had promised her father they would divorce once she recovered. He reiterated that he did not want a divorce, but if their fate together only caused her pain and despair, he would rather remove himself from her life.
He suggested their marriage was a fundamental mismatch, like "ocean versus fire," where one must eventually disappear for things to end. He believed the best way for her to heal was to forget the past, and he promised to watch over her from afar until she found a new life. Jiang Fanlv was deeply moved by his words. Meanwhile, Jiang Jin tried to call Jiang Fanlv but couldn't reach her and was extremely anxious.
Eventually, Lin Xiangyuan brought her back home. Seeing how late it was, Jiang Jin invited Lin Xiangyuan to stay in the guest room. The next day, Lin Xiangyuan tried hard to engage Jiang Fanlv in conversation, mentioning the beautiful orchids in his hometown of Guizhou. Jiang Fanlv, however, did not appreciate his efforts and instead brought up their lost child, musing that everything would be different if their child were still alive. They then went to the Marriage Registration Office.
The staff inquired about their reasons for divorce, and both Jiang Fanlv and Lin Xiangyuan selflessly took the blame, stating they wanted the other to be happy. The surprised staff suggested they reconsider, but Jiang Fanlv insisted on divorce due to their fundamentally different characteristics. Lin Xiangyuan elaborated, highlighting his humble origins from a small Guizhou village compared to her upbringing in Shanghai and education abroad. He admitted that wealth was partly his initial motivation to get close to her.
He then presented Jiang Fanlv with the ring his mother had given him for their marriage, offering it as a memory, fearing she might not like its style. Just as they were about to proceed, the staff intervened, falsely claiming the computer system was down and they couldn't process the divorce that day. She urged them to cherish their fate and fight for their marriage. Lin Xiangyuan vowed to fight and to be her husband in the next life.
Jiang Fanlv, touched, took the ring and agreed to "go back and think about it again." The staff then prompted Lin Xiangyuan to follow her. Meanwhile, Lei Yuzheng and He Qunfei returned to the village where Li Lu's family lived. A neighbor informed them that Li Lu had recently returned and bought his father a house in Shanghai's Happy Neighborhood. Without delay, Lei Yuzheng and He Qunfei headed back to Shanghai.
They eventually located Li Lu in an underground parking garage. When Li Lu spotted them, he tried to flee. A flashback showed Lin Xiangyuan providing Xie Li with 200,000 yuan, instructing him to give it to Li Lu and have Li Lu write an article alleging Lei Yuzheng was involved in stock insider trading. In the present, two unknown men suddenly appeared and abducted Li Lu.
Lei Yuzheng and He Qunfei tried to intervene, fighting the men, but Li Lu was forcibly driven away in their car. Back at home, Jiang Jin asked Jiang Fanlv if the divorce had been finalized. She confirmed it had not, asserting it was her own decision and not due to any threats from Lin Xiangyuan. She reflected on their marriage, acknowledging its complexities and the unfairness within it.
She expressed a desire to calmly reconsider things, recognizing Lin Xiangyuan's efforts, from pursuing her to tolerating her during their marriage and caring for her daily. Jiang Jin, pleased that she was no longer being headstrong, reassured her that he would support her decision, whatever it may be.
