He reflected on his father's dedication to the project, stating that Yutian was his father's life, and his father had envisioned the Entertainment Center countless times.
Lei Yuzheng expressed his determination to restart the project, but Liu Siyang cautioned him about the difficulties, including securing board approval and substantial funding, and warned that Lin Xiangyuan would likely create obstacles. Liu Siyang also reminded Lei Yuzheng that despite being the majority shareholder, he couldn't participate in decision-making. Lei Yuzheng acknowledged the challenges, realizing he first needed to prove his innocence and regain a position within Yutian.
He declared his unwavering resolve to return to Yutian, enter the decision-making layer, and fulfill his father's last wish by building a great monument from the project. During a board meeting, Jiang Jin proposed appointing Lei Yuzheng as his assistant. A board member raised a legal objection, citing Lei Yuzheng's previous arrest for information leakage and a five-year ban from top management.
However, Lin Xiangyuan spoke up, clarifying that while Lei Yuzheng couldn't be in top management, the law didn't prevent him from working for the company, and he agreed to the appointment. The board then approved. Lei Yuzheng and He Qunfei returned to Yutian, heading directly to Lei Ting’s former office, where Lei Yuzheng noted the office had not been cleaned since his father's passing.
Shortly after, Weicheng, a senior staff member, visited Lei Yuzheng, expressing relief at his return and sorrow over the stalled Entertainment Center project. Lei Yuzheng thanked the staff for their hard work during his absence and assured them that Yutian would improve. Lin Xiangyuan, having seen Lei Yuzheng's car, hurried back to the office, outwardly composed but inwardly troubled.
From the window, Lei Yuzheng watched Lin Xiangyuan's reaction, and He Qunfei speculated that Lin Xiangyuan was surprised by his swift return. Lei Yuzheng noted that Lin Xiangyuan had agreed to his return days earlier, so surprise was unwarranted. Meanwhile, Xie Li reported Lei Yuzheng's return to Lin Xiangyuan, who, feigning indifference, claimed to have invited Lei Yuzheng back himself to keep a close eye on his intentions.
Lin Xiangyuan explained to Xie Li that having Lei Yuzheng within Yutian's building allowed them to monitor his plans more effectively, cementing his position as CEO. Lin Xiangyuan then encountered He Qunfei cleaning Lei Yuzheng's office, and sarcastically questioned his role and whether he had completed the HR onboarding process. He Qunfei retorted, suggesting that if Lei Yuzheng were stopped from entering Yutian without an access card, it would be embarrassing.

Unbeknownst to them, Lin Xiangyuan had been listening outside the door and left angrily. Lei Yuzheng hired a private detective to investigate Lin Xiangyuan and Xie Li. Lin Xiangyuan sent people to follow Lei Yuzheng, who soon discovered he was being watched. Lei Yuzheng met the detective discreetly, emphasizing the importance of secrecy due to the substantial amount of money involved, which could provoke desperate actions from their opponents.
Shangguan Boyao visited Lei Yuzheng at a fencing club, reflecting on Zhenrong and Lei Yuzheng's absence from the club. Lei Yuzheng, in turn, challenged Shangguan Boyao to a fencing match, despite Shangguan’s reluctance. After a vigorous bout, Lei Yuzheng revealed his true purpose: to restart the Entertainment Center project and asked Shangguan Boyao for financial backing to provide external funding to secure board approval. Shangguan Boyao readily agreed, promising to arrange the funds immediately.
Meanwhile, Jiang Jin, aware of Lin Xiangyuan's displeasure over Lei Yuzheng's return, advised his daughter Jiang Fanlv not to actively approach Lei Yuzheng, fearing it would exacerbate tensions with Lin Xiangyuan. He expressed his hope that Lei Yuzheng and Lin Xiangyuan could reconcile and work together for Yutian's future. Lin Xiangyuan and Xie Li presented Jiang Jin with a proposal to partner with Green Investment, an emerging company, to produce new energy vehicles.
Lin Xiangyuan argued that Yutian's traditional business profits were plateauing and a new breakthrough was needed. Despite Jiang Jin's initial concerns about shareholder approval and Yutian lacking the necessary technical expertise, Lin Xiangyuan pressed him to submit the plan to the board, assuring him that this partnership would bring Yutian to a new stage and generate profits for shareholders. Liu Siyang, having investigated Green Investment, suspected it was a dubious company, potentially secretly established by Lin Xiangyuan. Lei Yuzheng deduced Lin Xiangyuan's scheme: to use Green Investment for money laundering. He explained that Yutian's funds would be transferred to Green Investment through the new energy project.
Once Yutian ran out of money, Green Investment would then invest the laundered funds back into Yutian to acquire a majority stake, ultimately making Lin Xiangyuan the legal representative and de facto controller of Yutian. Despite Liu Siyang suggesting Lei Yuzheng use his majority shareholder veto power, Lei Yuzheng declined, preferring to "lure the big fish out of the net" and let Lin Xiangyuan reveal his true intentions.
To further his plan, Lei Yuzheng decided to accept Shangguan Boyao's offer to host a welcome-back party, despite his earlier reservations about it being too high-profile. He intended to use the event to feign resignation and complacency, making Lin Xiangyuan believe he had given up on the Entertainment Center project after two setbacks and was merely seeking relaxation. Later, Lin Xiangyuan, having sent two law books—Criminal Law and Securities Law—to Lei Yuzheng’s office, confronted him about the Entertainment Center project.
He explained that Yutian's significant investment in the new energy project meant there were currently no funds to restart the Entertainment Center. Lei Yuzheng, however, calmly informed Lin Xiangyuan that funding was no longer an issue for the project. Lin Xiangyuan then announced the board's decision to appoint Lei Yuzheng as Jiang Jin’s special assistant, putting him in charge of the Entertainment Center project.
Lei Yuzheng, showing no gratitude, dismissed Lin Xiangyuan, pointedly asking him to take the law books with him. Meanwhile, Lin Xiangyuan clashed with Jiang Fanlv over attending Shangguan Boyao's party. He later apologized to Jiang Jin, explaining that he simply worried about Jiang Fanlv going out drinking. Jiang Jin, aware the party was for Lei Yuzheng, insisted that both Jiang Fanlv and Lin Xiangyuan attend.
He saw it as an opportunity for Lin Xiangyuan to meet new people and foster future business cooperation. Jiang Fanlv initially refused, but Jiang Jin persisted, asking Lin Xiangyuan to ensure Jiang Fanlv didn't drink too much. Shangguan Boyao personally invited Du Xiaosu to the party. She brought a tie as a gift for Lei Yuzheng. Shangguan Boyao playfully presented it, suggesting it symbolized "tying up" his friend. Lei Yuzheng expressed his appreciation for the gift. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Du Xiaosu tried to leave, but Lei Yuzheng pulled her hand, stopping her.
