When Du Xiaosu awoke, she noticed a bag of food on her table, realizing it was a thoughtful gesture from Lei Yuzheng, who had already left. Later, Du Xiaosu brought Ye Shenkuan to inspect the renovation work on an office building. Ye Shenkuan expressed his satisfaction, remarking on her good taste.
He specifically praised a unique pentagon-shaped table and a light design in the meeting room, as well as the cozy ambiance created by her choice of decorations and plants. Du Xiaosu admitted that without his contact, she might not have had the confidence to continue her work. Ye Shenkuan then revealed that someone had specifically requested him to find her for the project, implying that this person cared deeply about her.
Upon receiving a substantial payment for the successful renovation, Du Xiaosu immediately called Lei Yuzheng to share her good news and invite him to dinner. Lei Yuzheng arrived for the dinner, which Du Xiaosu intended as a grand celebration with simple dishes like small steamed buns. However, he interjected with his own order, including crab meat bean curd, salmon nori, and a sashimi set.
Du Xiaosu playfully complained about his expensive choices, while Lei Yuzheng teased her about her newfound wealth from the "large-scale project" she recently completed. He casually mentioned it was an office building, which made Du Xiaosu suspect he might have helped her secure the job. Lei Yuzheng, however, denied it, claiming he had merely guessed.
Du Xiaosu then shared her dream of studying abroad at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to meet her idol, Professor Ohm, the renowned architect and author of "Introduction to Architecture." Lei Yuzheng was leaving for a business trip abroad the next day, which prompted her to share her aspirations. After the meal, Du Xiaosu went to pay, only to discover that Lei Yuzheng had already settled the bill.
As he drove her home, Lei Yuzheng hesitated, seemingly on the verge of expressing his feelings, but ultimately held back. Instead, he asked her to see him off at the airport the following morning. Meanwhile, He Qunfei's father unexpectedly arrived in Shanghai, prompting He Qunfei to introduce him to Zou Siqi.
His father revealed the reason for his visit: He Qunfei’s second brother was getting married, but the bride's family required a house. Despite pooling all their savings, his parents were still 200,000 yuan short. His father, reluctant but desperate, asked He Qunfei for a loan, highlighting his brother’s past sacrifices to put him through university. He Qunfei promised to find the money.

The next morning, Lei Yuzheng came to the office and gave He Qunfei detailed instructions, particularly regarding the Entertainment Center project, before heading to the airport. He Qunfei noted Lei Yuzheng's improved mood and increased cheerfulness. From his window, Lin Xiangyuan observed Lei Yuzheng’s departure and tried to ascertain his destination but failed. He suspected He Qunfei knew more and decided to approach him.
Du Xiaosu, after receiving and watching a video from her old teacher Sun on her phone, suddenly remembered Lei Yuzheng’s flight. She hailed a taxi and urged the driver to rush to the airport. Lei Yuzheng waited patiently, and just as he was about to board, Du Xiaosu arrived, breathless. Lei Yuzheng was visibly delighted, embracing her gently and expressing his satisfaction that she had come. He waved goodbye and boarded the plane under her watchful gaze.
Noticing He Qunfei's distracted state, Lin Xiangyuan invited him for a drink. He Qunfei confided his family's financial predicament. Lin Xiangyuan, pretending empathy by relating it to his own past regrets, produced a bank card with one million yuan, instructing He Qunfei to use it to buy a house for Zou Siqi. In his drunken stupor, He Qunfei disclosed that Lei Yuzheng was abroad to finalize a collaboration with SG for the Entertainment Center project, which would resolve its financial issues. Linton agreed to travel to Shanghai with Lei Yuzheng to taste Shanghai buns.
During their conversation, Lei Yuzheng took the opportunity to inquire about Professor Ohm. Meanwhile, Jiang Fanlv had been avoiding Lin Xiangyuan. While out drinking with a friend, Lin Xiangyuan appeared outside the bar to pick her up. He Qunfei and Zou Siqi later visited a real estate office and successfully put down a deposit for a house. While Lei Yuzheng stepped away to the restroom, Professor Ohm revealed to Du Xiaosu the extraordinary lengths Lei Yuzheng had gone to bring him to Shanghai.
He explained that since his wife Anna’s passing, he had become a recluse, but Lei Yuzheng's persistent efforts—waiting outside his home for an entire day after being initially turned away—had deeply moved him. Professor Ohm, touched by Lei Yuzheng’s sincerity, believed it was a testament to his true love for Du Xiaosu.
